  1. When they get to the UK they're in a VAG compound and wait for a transporter (in order of VAG hierarchy according to my dealer!) However I seemed to get lucky and mine was on its way almost immediately. I think that was Felixstowe or Sheerness though, so could be completely different. Certainly weeks and not months from Emden though (based on my limited knowledge of two purchases!) Enjoy your new car 🙂
  2. It does feel like a good idea to keep any modern car in a sound warranty - or perhaps with a trusted, current, independent mechanic at hand. But across my two Octy ownerships I've had little to no issues and I'll definitely get another one if it fits my needs at the time. I've really tempted fate now haven't I 🤦‍♂️
  3. I live in Hampshire where Octavias and Rapids make up most of the taxi stock (in Southampton and Portsmouth at least). However I rarely see any other VRSs, no idea why that is, but it's nice because it makes me feel a bit special 😁
  4. Great looking car, love the frontend tweaks and new wheels 😍
  5. That's not an issue for either the insurer or the police, nor is it a contributing factor in a crash. Uninsured, unlicensed, unfit - yes. Untaxed - that's up to the DVLA.
  6. Thule seem to do 3 which are compatible, according to a search on roofracks.co.uk See here. EDIT - Just realised this doesn't actually answer your question - but if Thule are producing a product that does the same thing, it's gotta be worth a try.
  7. I did a bit of googling and think that noise could be the brake recalibrating itself and measuring the pads, which it does every so often apparently. Maybe others can advise if theirs makes the noise too sometimes? It could be that yours is attempting this process every time.
  8. No I just assumed they all did it from time to time. It happens about once every 20 uses for me.
  9. Mine sometimes makes that noise too
  10. They're nice wheels and give it a clean look, but for me it softens it a bit too much for a VRS. As above though, it's a matter of taste and hats off to you modifying your car to your taste, with a decent product.
  11. The water pump went on my MK3 and it was a common issue apparently, i hoped they’d addressed that now 🫤
  12. I don't think this comes down to the manufacturer paint warranty. The dealer sold you a 1 year old car which had been repaired to a poor standard. Whether they knew about that or not is irrelevant, they endorsed the car and need to put it right. I think they will.
  13. That's not your fault, they will (or should) have inspected that car thoroughly before putting it on their forecourt as approved used. I'm sure they'll sort it.
  14. How about hardwiring the dash cam into the fusebox instead? Then it's only the glovebox and pillar trim to come off.
  15. Well what a massive fool I am, that works perfectly, 5 times out of 5 and counting. I’m sure the dealer said under the right exhaust! Thanks @Neily03
  16. Where do you wave your foot, under the right exhaust?
  17. Mine has it too, but very hit and miss. Only picks up the foot movement about 50% of the time, maybe the sensors get dirty or something?
  18. I think they leave the factory on variable servicing where the car lets you know when it needs something - but if you're not doing high miles, or just prefer to, you can be switched to internal servicing ( typically 10k / 12 months). At least that's what happened with my MK3, which I had switched.
  19. Just offering another viewpoint, hope you find a satisfactory answer. Most forums do tend to prompt discussions though.
  20. Great for queuing traffic though, I used it for the first time this weekend and really liked it. There was 5 miles of 0-15 mph traffic on the motorway, so I just let the car deal with it and relaxed my feet and ankles. Sure there were a few slightly harsh reactions, but overall a definite positive. I never bother with cruise at normal running speeds though.
  21. Yes that's what I did when I recently took my car over to France. It's a bit misleading that it's labelled 'interior monitoring' in my opinion - it's more about ignoring external movement really.
  22. Love it! Beautiful region and cars, please drive up and down the AD corniche loudly to annoy my brother. He lives there and has a 1980’s opinion of Škoda.
