Many thanks! I prefer Classic cars as they generally appreciate not depreciate.

What is an auxiliary heater? If it works as well as the standard fitting that is the poorest heater I have encountered in driving over 50 cars is it worth having?

Perhaps the signs on opposite sides of the road are confusing the radar sensors. I get random alarms quite frequently without any logical cause.
  4. Perhaps your previous car was a Bentley!
  5. There is no sound to your clip on U-tube. My 1.5 TSI engine is very quiet with no sign of tappet type noise.
  6. 6.5 years and 35,000 miles and the battery is fine. Probably as nearly every journey is at least 25 miles so it gets a chance to charge. I have never used an external charger.
  7. A good independent would not charge £300 and they will have the right gear to do the job, its not rocket science!

  9. What do you expect for £500,000!
  10. If so why not buy a proper Bentley as made before 1931?
  11. Thanks, for the suggestion.
  12. My 2018 1.5 TSI manual has cut out since new. It does not happen very often but as there is no warning it can be extremely dangerous e.g. entering a fast dual carriageway from a side turning this has happened on more than one occasions. Some on here have tried to explain the fault as due to an individuals style of driving to me that is absolute rubbish. Having owned 40+ cars over 60 years it has never occurred on any other car. I even feel more confident driving our 1936 Morgan . What makes the situation worse is that neither the dealers nor VW group acknowledge that there is a problem. The Karok is the last VW group car we will ever buy
  13. Why! A boot is a place I spend very little time in and the current detachable torch is more than adequate,
  14. Thank you for the seat adjustment description most useful. I have never had a problem with the standard 1.5 SEL seats but probably this is more by luck than judgement. Having just travelled over 200 miles in far from ideal conditions ( bright sun and fog) my back is fine. As 80+ I am perhaps most fortunate.
  15. And their breakdown service LV Brittania is highly regarded
  16. My 2018 1.5 SEL manual has fog lights as standard, have Skoda now downgraded the specification?
  17. A good find how did you measure the frequencies it was transmitting. Perhaps it could be used as another layer of protection to prevent villains stealing your car.
  18. My 2018 1.5 SEL manual is still running 19" Bridgestone Turanza in the summer and has always suffered from what I would describe as drumming due to tyre noise, noticably worse on some road surfaces. Annoying but I have learned to live with it. Changing in the winter months to Kumho 18" tyres does reduce the drummimg somewhat. Strange that my other half does not seem to notice the noise at all. Being of advanced years my hearing has deteriorated at the higher frequencies maybe that is a factor.
  19. Be careful what you wish for. All the people I know who have it on their cars curse it saying it is more likely to cause an accident then prevent one, especially on twisty country roads where it can try to lurch the car into the oncoming traffic.
  20. In 2019 I bought a new Karok 1.5SEL from Preston as they had the colour and model I wanted. After a few weeks I noticed a strange paint defect at the rear, a type of bloom on the paint that polishing etc. would not shift. My local Dealer in Carlisle after noting the defect did nothing about it after several weeks their excuse being a change of staff in the service section. I contacted Skoda UK who were most helpful and suggested I get a quote from an independent body shop to do the work, that I did and it was expensive a few £100's. Quite out of the blue the defect then dissapeared and the colour returned so I contacted Skoda uK again and the young lady was most helpful and gave me two free services for my trouble. Perhaps worth containg Skoda UK.
  21. Perhaps you did not keep a copy of the old maps before overwriting the SD card with the 2024 version. I have a copy but with its size 6.5GB it is far too large to transfer over the net.
  22. Absolute rubbish, a driver should not have to adapt his style to overcome what are basic deficiences in the design of the engine. I have owned over 40 cars through 60 years and have never experienced the engine dying at roundabouts and junctions apart from the Karoq, at these moments you need full acceleration on tap not stalling!

If my 1.5 SEL is anything to go by then tyre noise is far louder than anything else, especially with the standard bridgestone ones fitted.
  24. As someone who is short in stature at 5ft 7" I find the Karoq less easy to negotiate than the Octavia, The front of the Octavia was always visible thus making judgment of clearance either side of the front straightforward the Karok is not nearly as clear and aiming is much less accurate.
  25. Thanks Carlston most useful information.
