I ordered at the start of July. I've been given provisional build of late in September. By this stage the production line will have switched to facelifted Kodiaqs. Given you ordered later and have yet to be allocated a provisional build date, it's a fair assumption that it will be after late September. By this stage the Kodiaq production line would be well into the facelift model. Even if you wanted to, they are not going to switch back to the old model to accommodate are they? Personally speaking I really couldn't care less about the facelift model. It's so similar it's not even worth it. I'll get what I'm given, but for the reasons above, it's likely to be a facelift. Well actually it IS a facelift as that was the option when I ordered.

If you ordered yours in the last weeks of July it's highly likely that yours will be a facelift model. In fact I would be staggered if it isn't.

Kodiaq, Snapped Steering Column (now Steering Rack)
The reason I loathe most car dealers (not exclusively Skoda, every single car dealership I have had "dealings" with has taken the Michael at some point). A BMW dealer wanted to charge me £3000 for "essential safety work" After I politely declined (much to the amazement of the service manager) my car passed it's MOT a month later (at a different place of course) with no problems whatsoever. I kept it for a further 5 years without any of the work needing to be done. Another dealer wanted to charge me £400 for some work that I fixed myself for £1.46. I just don't trust them at all. Any of them.

Well a few weeks on and I am happy. It's not perfect as the battery will lose power and cut off if the car isn't used for a couple of days, but generally speaking, for 90% of the time I have drinks in the car at 1c. Whether this is worth around £900 or so is up to the individual, but for me, a £900 ice cold drinks option that can be migrated to future cars is money well spent.

Just been given a provisional build date of End Sept for an order placed early July. If that ends up being the case (and it is a big if), then I guess I am looking at delivery around early November which would be around 18 weeks not the 22 I was originally quoted.

Not specific to Kodiaq (apologies) - but dealership insurance excess to test drive a car.
I did a similar comparison (to see if things had changed in the last couple of years- they hadn't).] Tarracco- felt a bit cramped to my eyes (and THAT badge - awful plasticky oversized fisher price etc etc) Tiguan- A personal opinion but the layout and quality of materials is worse than the Kodiaq imo. XC60 is a smaller car no?

OK - I reckon I am in for another Kodiaq - Likely Sportline - but diesel again or a switch to petrol?
Ultimately only you can decide, but here is my thinking. I have a 1.5 on order, I currently drive a 1.5. I sometimes carry 4 + gear, but in fairness normally it's only me. In a previous life I drove (very!) fast cars, and in all honesty even the VRS would be slow in comparison, (especially given it's height, it would appear even slower). What I am trying to say is the "fun" side of things isn't an issue for me with the Kodiaq, so you'd need to bear that in mind when I give my opinion. If I was doing a lot of towing, I guess a diesel would be worth considering, but I'm not. The car is absolutely fine from a power perspective with the 1.5. Honestly I can't see why you would need more. This is an SUV, not a sports car.

Without knowing how hard you drive the car, and what you mean by "Fully Loaded" it's difficult, but I say you are looking at around 35mpg. I've very little conception of your metric, but a quick google suggests it is 6.72

No, the replacement of the Skoda badge with the name started around 2 years ago or so. My current car 2019 MY20 has it. To my eyes that is a pre-facelifted model (not that it would bother me).

Odd, I went from a 2016 Superb to a 2019 Kodiaq and the tech/layout were virtually identical.

Tested tonight and that definitely works. I've set it around 11.8v to eek out a bit more charge after the power is cut, but may well raise it later once I have seen the effect. So far so good. Next stage will be the charge life of the battery/fridge.

Ok I've made the purchase. Wired one of these Battery Guard 12V DC: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo up to a standard 12v extension lead. Will attempt to use it to charge a power bank PowerHouse II 400 - Anker which in turn will charge my compressor fridge. With my driving habits I expect the powerstation to be empty perhaps 65% of the time (which may/may not wreck the battery), but hopefully I can charge it at approx 100w or so from the DC input AND Usb C (while driving), so around 3-4 hours for a full charge. I have a splitter on the 12v that allegedly can handle 150w, but will probably play have to play around with inputs to see what I can get. Will report back on the success/failure! Thanks to all who have contributed to the thread.

They ARE top class. I think the 17 hours you were quoting is more likely to be elapsed time rather than run time, but still impressive Assume your compressor runs about 2Ah when in use. Depending on conditions/temp/use etc it will be in use 1/3 of time. i.e. 0.7Ah average draw (approx). 12/0.7= 17 hours I was playing around with options over the weekend. The thought process was that this could keep the battery "topped up" without faffing around changing inputs. Sadly I think the solar panel would get fried by leaving it on the rear parcel shelf. :( Back to the drawing board!

Wow thanks for the detailed and informative post. Definitely food for thought there in terms of the whole system. Looks like my goal of having a constantly running, self-charging fridge in the car will be harder than I thought. I will still make up the battery guard as it is quite a useful thing to have, but more thought is needed on the setup. Thanks again, I really do appreciate it.

SE-L vs Sportline
If I were to choose the Sportline I would be torn between Race Blue and Meteor Grey. I think both suit the car well. I went for a Graphite Grey SEL as I think it suits that car better than any of the others. For me it downplays the black plastic skirt (which I really don't like), blends in a bit better. Not as much as black obviously but black is a pain to clean! I actually don't think the black skirt affects the look of the Sportline much (if at all). Kindof suits the character a bit more.

One for the more technically amongst us! I currently run a compressor fridge from the 12v in the boot. (Very impressive pieces of kit btw). The unit has a voltage sensor which means that as it draws down on the car battery, it switches off if the voltage gets too low, essentially protecting the car battery from being totally depleted (there are numerous schools of thought on whether or not to do this, personally I am in the one that thinks convenience>risk). Effectively this means that the fridge will run for 8 hours or so then cut off (from a full battery). Once you start driving, the fridge kicks in and away you go. The next step for me is to install a seperate power supply, something like this EcoFlow River Pro | Portable Power Stations | International Version (hampshiregenerators.co.uk) This would extend the "life" of the fridge without power to around 2-3 days (from a full charge) However, if I want to leave the setup plugged in, I would need a voltage protection switch (that is not in the power bank ). Would I have to buy a 12v lead and strip it down to the wire, then solder to spade connectors etc? Same with the other side leading to the powerbank?

I agree with the seats- leather are terrible. I re -ordered a SEL as I wasn't a fan of big wheels. Both the "sweetspot" of the range though imo.
