No ACC on my L&K Kodiaq
You raise some valid points (and personally I missed the "delivered in October" bit - I assumed it was recently delivered -which is shocking I know). However, I take issue with your criticism of this forum. I find it very helpful and I'm sure others do too. It's a shame you don't participate and contribute with your obvious knowledge. Forums are open places where people express their opinions and experience. It's always incumbent upon the reader to make a judgement as to which elements he will take on board. I assume by "Driver assist package" he means "Travel assist". Maybe the OP could clear this up.

No ACC on my L&K Kodiaq
Personally I would send the car back. ACC is an absolute MUST for me. Wouldn't touch normal CC but the adaptive thing really does make it invaluable.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
Estimated 22 weeks earlier this week. I expect it anytime before Xmas, but wouldn't be surprised if it's in Jan.

Virtual cockpit?
Ok finally decided not to take it. For the benefit of anyone who is in the same position, and for what it's worth: No doubt the VC makes the dash look more "modern". However, my current setup (analogue with digital speed) gives me everything I need. Speed Gear Cruise Control Speed Cruise Control on/off Outside temp Direction/Compass (nice to have) Trip distance (I don't use) I use Waze, so there is no benefit to having the navigation function on the VC. If I was using the built in Sat Nav, then maybe this would have edged me to it. Ultimately I got to the stage that I "wasn't sure" if I would prefer the VC or the existing setup, would end up configuring the VC to replicate the current setup as much as possible, and concluded that in that case I would be better off saving the £395. Thanks for all your comments, they really did help me make the decision and hopefully will help others in the future.

Anyone bought a Kodiaq through drivethedeal in the last 12m?
Used DTD in the past and saved £2k on the best Carwow deal. Will be using them again. 1. The car would be supplied by a dealer a long way away from me - but then again why should that matter? They deliver so why would I care? - You can, or you can pay the rail fare (in the great scheme of things what's £100 (max)) 2. Frankly I’ve never heard of them before and don’t know anyone who has used them. Has anyone used them for a Kodiaq? Yes 3. How I might end up dealing with small queries if the supplying dealer is 600m away from me. I suppose I just call and hope they’ll help over the phone - but am I kidding myself? What types of queries? 4. And what happens for warranty and servicing in reality when the supply dealer is so far away - will my local dealership show any interest if they didn’t supply the car? I presume they will want the aftercare business but maybe I’m kidding myself…? They will.

Virtual cockpit?
Thanks guys. Some food for thought. Atm I think I am edging to not having it as I really only use the rev counter, digital speed and google maps, but I take the recommendations on board and will do some thinking.

Virtual cockpit?
Hi All I find myself in the position of changing my Kodiaq.....for another Kodiaq. (Very long boring story). Anyway, would be interested in hearing your views on the virtual cockpit. Personally I can't see any benefit, but then again I've never used one!

Kodiaq buying advice please...
I own a 1.5 petrol and frankly it has enough power for me. I was a bit concerned that it wouldn't which was one factor in going for a manual over an automatic (the other was the fact that manual transmission will be a thing of the past in 5 years! ). However, I needn't have worried, and sometimes think an auto would be a better option. If I had an auto I am sure I would be having the same debate in my head. I originally didn't want the SEL (the SE would have done me) but for various reasons too complicated to go into, ended up with one. In fairness I'm glad I did now. The headlights are way better. The seats are indeed nice I am even getting along with the powered boot now (initially hated it) Whichever one you go for the Kodiaq will be a good, solid car.

Must just be me who really doesn't care! Shortly behind heated seats in the "couldn't give a monkeys" bracket

Came down this afternoon to find this
Unfortunately it goes with owning a car. I have 2 dings, admittedly not dents like that, from people opening doors into mine. At one point in my life I would be livid, now I just accept it and move on.

1.5 tsi is it ok
Well it's worth asking the question, but ultimately it's a personal choice I agree.

1.5 tsi is it ok
I have the 1.5TSI It's absolutely fine, even packed with kids/gear etc. In all honesty the more difficult thing is keeping it down to 30mph with the raised driving position it offers. I've never had an issue with the "kangarooing". If I was nitpicking then there is a lag in 2nd gear at lower revs (but that's easily fixed). For me it's a SUV not a sports car and that's it. Having driven a sports car in the past, anything else is a compromise, so imo there was absolutely no point in putting a bigger engine in a SUV, but that's just my opinion. But you pays your money and takes your choice!

Kodiaq vs Tarraco
The SEAT badge........is enough to prevent me from buying one. Not the brand, the actual badge is too big, too plasticky and too ugly! However, for completeness I viewed the VW, SEAT and Skoda variants of the Kodiaq about 24 months or so ago. With my spec choice the SEAT was actually the most expensive (but not by much and you did get more kit (I didn't want the kit, but there u go). In actual fact the price differences between all three were relatively small (£700 or so). In terms of inside space (at least perceived), build quality and quality of materials, the Kodiaq was superior and hence I bought it. I actually prefer the looks too, but that is purely subjective I appreciate.

What's this? (mobile related)
Sorry to go off topic but out of interest why was the 1.5 not meeting your needs? Do you tow a lot up a hill?

To renew lease, get another lease or another option...
I normally pay cash for cars but was tempted by the PCP offer this time. Liked the "try before you buy" kind of approach. I will be purchasing the car, keeping it for 5-7 more years, then purchasing an electric car. More than happy to run the Kodiak until then.

How to install speedcameras in new kodiaq with mib3.0
I've never understood why people will pay for onboard navigation. I guess in the "old" days it was more integrated (but performed worse) than a dedicated unit, so depending on where you were on the performance/style curve, there was a reason. I always went for a dedicated solution as valued performance. These days though, why wouldn't you just use Android Auto/Apple Car play? Best of both worlds and cheaper to boot.

Skoda's Silent Cost Cutting Exercise
Makes perfect sense to me. That was my point too.

Skoda's Silent Cost Cutting Exercise
I think that's the intention. Over the years the price/quality difference between VW/Skoda/Seat has blurred massively. To such an extent that when I was looking for my car, for broadly comparable specs the VW was cheapest, followed by the Skoda, and the SEAT was the most expensive. Clearly the VW group needed to do something about this (in their opinon) They have decided (in their infinite wisdom) that the VW should be the top end, followed by SEAT and finally SKODA should be the lower end. Given each brand has access to essentially the same car, the only way they can really re-enforce this is through downgrading the interior in the Skoda. Shame as it will turn people off (personally I doubt I will end up buying another Skoda for this reason) but there you go. I guess the Skoda had a great run in terms of price/spec over the years.

Please help me decide between these 2 options
I have a MY20 1.5 TSI and it's been faultless. I also had a 1.4 before that. They are practically the same engine tbh, at least they drive like it.
-
Please help me decide between these 2 options
The "Extra's" on the Edition over the SEL are subjective at best. Very unlikely to be worth the gap in mileage/age (unless you REALLY value them).
-
Please help me decide between these 2 options
You don't mention the price. Assuming the same it's a no brainer. The SEL.

Nice little scratch on the bumper by old driver :-/
Bumps, scratches, dings. I used to stress about them, but nowdays I just accept that they are part of the car owning experience. I am still annoyed about the muppet who dinged my car in the hospital car park and drove off (but less so..... )

Should I buy one ?
I think that's right and it depends on personal choice. There really is no right answer. e.g. Heated seats - I have them and wouldn't pay £1 for them if they were an option LED headlights - worth the extra imo. Buying a base spec car and adding options makes sense if you are not going to use half the addons, then again if the price of the options outweighs the next spec up, then obviously that changes things. Ultimately only YOU can decide what's important to you.
