  1. Correct. I have fitted one recently. They are ever so slightly, maybe 1/2" shorter than the factory fitted ones but fit perfectly and are silent.
  2. They arrived this morning. Look a good fit, maybe 1/2” shorter than the originals. No squeaking in operation!
  3. Same here. I took a flier on them after seeing your link, so I blame you! 😉 nah seriously though the original is so annoying I have to do something
  4. The inevitable did happen. However, like Yogi a software update seems to have fixed it......for the moment........
  5. Will be interested to see how that goes as the current weather has reminded me how hopeless the original is.
  6. Could be another red herring but .... I turned off "Traffic Sign recognition" the other day and since then have had no issues with it. I'll post again if the inevitable happens..........
  7. You mean as every brake in existence has done since it was installed? Maybe you do need new brakes but is it any wonder the term "stealers" is in the common parlance?
  8. But probably a lot more reliable and available with a "sensible" petrol engine!
  9. And now it's going to cost me a lot more than that as I LOVE the look of the 2024 Santa Fe. My poor bank balance 😞
  10. My (now EX) dealership sat on the issue for nearly a year. Only resolved when they wanted to service my car again (no thanks until this issue is sorted). On the Karoq forum I found a link to the recall information . This came up for my car. Now bringing it up with another dealer to see if I can get it resolved, but does suggest a software solution.........(maybe). VIN Checker | ŠKODA Australia (skoda.com.au)
  11. I've had this for over a year on my 2021 Kodiaq. My (now EX) dealership sat on the issue for 10 months until it came around to service time and they wanted my business. I'm going elsewhere and escalating again. 1 year left on the warranty so the clock is ticking..............
  12. Not a huge fan. Hate the silver in the pillar and in the rear in some versions. Looks cheap imo. As for the ipad inside.......... Overall probably saved me a few thousand by not tempting me to trade in. In all honesty I feel that Skoda has also lost a fair bit in the value stakes. When it does come to trade in they may well not be top of the short list for me.
  13. I have to say the only time I have used Skoda Customer Services (about 4 years ago), they were brilliant. Unblocked an annoying dealer.
  14. As I've said for a long time, get used to the VC as it will be (probably is already) far far cheaper to produce than analogue dials. Offered as an option to trap the early adopters, it will be standard in the next few years. I prefer analogue but could live with the VC. What would be harder for me to live with is the fugly "infotainment" screen that looks like someone has stuck an ipad on top of the dash. Who in their right mind thinks this is an improvement on the existing display?
  15. I might be old school, but I am also not into wasting money! Personally I would always change a belt around 150k or so. I wouldn't change a chain (which I believe the 2.0tsi has?). Just my opinion
  16. I appreciate I am probably in the minority but that centre display is awful. Distracting and takes the looks away from the cabin.
  17. yes settings for lights and speed can be changed within the menu. Maybe only for LED lights though, not sure. i'm not aware of any setting changes for cruise control
  18. I had a similar model around the same year. It was an SEL and had sat nav. I'm pretty sure the SE didn't have it as standard.
  19. Interesting. Mine did the same over a broadly similar time period. Could it be related to OTA software updates I wonder?
  20. Took mine into the dealers and apparently "it needs a new steering wheel" - which of course is on back order. Strangely it has reduced in frequency over the last couple of weeks (but is 100% still happening and connected to the steering in some way shape of form). I can sometimes toggle the alert on and off by banging the wheel at 6 o'clock. Also by turning it enthusiastically
  21. I'm pretty certain this has been discussed before and the answer is "you can't". Sorry!
  22. I said this would happen when they were first introduced. It's more than likely cheaper to provide the VC than the analogue dials. A bit like digital watches. The first batch were expensive new tech that were shown off in jewelry stores. Now you can get them for a fiver on the market.
  23. Government has to replace lost fuel duty with the electrics some way. Slight tangent but a bit like inheritance tax and stamp duty. Originally brought in to tax the (VERY) rich, now almost everyone pays. Horrible, unfair and insidious taxes. In a similar way over time, the vast majority of motorists will be paying the "Luxury" car tax premium. Skoda realise that compared to competitors, the Kodiaq was a bit of a bargain. They bumped up the price accordingly. Now it's not so much of a bargain, but it's still competitive. When I chose the Kodiaq I compared it to the Allspace and Tarraco and for me it was the best out of those 3 (irrespective of the price). In fact for my purposes (and I appreciate it's just me), apart from those 3 (and the Honda CRV as an outliner) there were not many options. (Smallish petrol SUV with lot's of space). To your point though about it losing it's mojo, then in terms of clear daylight value for money between it and it's competition, I would tend to agree.
  24. Personally I believe diesels are the spawn of Satan. Horrible clanking thudding things. Noisy dirty and clog up if you don't do the miles. That said, if you can live with the above, go for it! I have a 1.5tsi and 99% of the time it does the job.
  25. Don't get me started on main dealer servicing. I must have saved £20k over the years by not taking them up on their "recommendations". My favourite was a water pump issue that they diagnosed and wanted hundreds of pounds for. I fixed it for under £2.
