  1. 3. It does reduce rattles by a surprising amount. You can also do the sides/top if you so wish. 4. Personally coins for parking (though admittedly less and less thesedays) 5. I use them a lot. The best umbrella is the one you have with you! Agree on the other points.
  2. Mine has been going for over a week now. Seems in an infinite loop 😞
  3. I used speaker cloth to line the glovebox. Self adhesive and easy to cut.
  4. My Oct 19 model came with 2 umbrellas. First thing I did with the 2022 model was to buy another umbrella and line the gloveboxes. I can live with the reflectors instead of the lights. I didn't like the new interior trim at first, but I must admit it has grown on me.
  5. For me the Kodiaq is still the best solution out there for my needs. The value for money has come down, but it's still ahead. I wanted a petrol SUV, preferably 7 seats and not stupid running costs. Fundamentally this came down to the Kodiaq/Tiguan/Tarraco. Ignoring price and choosing simply on suitability for me, the Kodiaq was miles ahead Had I wanted a diesel, I may have gone down the Sorento or even Taureg route, but a diesel was a non starter (no pun intended) for me. Next time around when it comes to an electric car (provided I am still here), I suspect the choice will be much wider.
  6. I have the 1.5. Can't say it's particularly bad mpg wise, but then I've hardly been checking. Maybe 32mpg or so mixed?
  7. Yep. I'd never even considered them before they turned up on the car. The ability to essentially leave full beam on all the time is really handy.
  8. This sums up my personal position perfectly (and I wish I could have said in my original answer!) For better or worse I have lot's of cars to compare it to, so would always be underwhelmed.
  9. Apologies to anyone if I have offended them. That really wasn't the purpose of my post. It's a diverse world and everyone wants something slightly different from their cars. I get that. I was just throwing my reasoning why a "fast(ish)" SU V is pointless.
  10. Drifting off topic but why would any choose an SUV if they want performance? Firstly you won't get anywhere near the traction of a lower car and secondly even if you are going at a certain speed, it will seem much slower as you are high up. Maybe it's just me. I drove quite a few "fast" cars (the best one, not the fastest, by far being a Honda Civic Type R but I digress). You could drop a 6 litre V12 in the Kodiaq and it would be worse (well obviously you couldn't, but you get my drift).
  11. This is the issue the VW Group have. Ideally they would like the perceived branding hierarchy to be Audi->VW>Seat>Skoda However, the reality is very different. The last 3 brands cost virtually the same, depending on what deal you can get. Quality is subjective, but imo Skoda is generally the best out of the last 3, the same for practicality. Audi does indeed have better materials, but whether they are worth the massive like for like premium is up to the individual.
  12. Well I am totally confused now. I think I will get some 0W 30 and top it up with that.
  13. What oil are you putting in it? 0w-30? 0w-40? 5w-30? I prefered it when all cars used Castrol GTX in a white tin whether they needed it or not!
  14. It could be the reflection of the snow but your car seems a lighter shade than mine. Was it bought as graphite grey?
  15. I have the Graphite Grey and it's very nice in the flesh. Nicer than it looks in the mock ups. It's somewhere between the old Business Grey and Quartz Grey and as a result is neither dark nor light. It hides the dirt well but still looks smart. Of course all this may change as the car gets older and the gloss (quite literally) wears off, but for the moment and having bought it "unseen" I am happy.
  16. I appreciate it's frustrating for some (especially those who ordered Sportlines it seems) but to balance things up (slightly....) I ordered my car in early July was given a 5 month lead time, and a warning that it may be later due to chip shortages etc. I assumed it would and expected delivery anytime around now (Jan-Feb 2022). In fact it was delivered early Dec, pretty much bang on the 5 months. In terms of the experience, it was like no other car buying experience I have known. Communication was patchy to say the least, and it seemed to go in fits and starts rather than the normal smooth progression from wait to build to delivery. There were times that I was more in the know than the dealer, through a combination of speaking to Skoda UK, interpreting the facts from here and tracking the ship out of Emden (though that wasn't as much fun as it normally is). To summarise, these are not normal times, and it seems pointless to try and establish the delivery date through normal timescales. One month it's nowhere on the radar, the next it's on the drive.
  17. I used them to their full effect earlier this week around a country road. It is a pretty clever system.
  18. That is a very good point.
  19. Not sure it helps but I ordered the same (Stand alone) option in July and it's on the car.
  20. There is probably a 3rd party gadget workaround but afaik, Wireless carplay has only been available during the last 12 months.
  21. It does seem as though Sportlines have been affected more than any other spec. Not sure why.
