Skoda Karoq restyling 2021
Hmmm.......... The back looks exactly the same...? At the front, has the grill been widened a little bit like <llllllll> ?? I don't think that is going to massively de-value mine....

Karoq Sportline - disconnecting sound generator
I didn't realise that the Sportline had one. it certainly isn't audible to me and mine has sat in "normal" since I had it. Her Golf GTi has, well, had, one . It was an awful, stupid contraption. I followed the instructions on the various Golf forums and after losing several fingers managed to get my hand under the scuttle and unplug it. But like an angry wasp that refuses to die it still vibrated on it's mounting. I'm now minus my whole arm virtually as I managed to get in with a spanner and remove it completely. It was last seen being tipped into a council bin lorry. I'm not sure why VW / Skoda/ Audi think that total idiots drive their products...??

MY2021 SE L now has 19 inch wheels
I've got 19" wheels on a sportline and find the ride to be perfectly acceptable and possibly my suspension might be firmer than an SE L. I imagine yours will be like a magic carpet....... 😉

Retro fit tow bar
I have seen on other forums reference I think the Tourag being recommended to have mods to the cooling system for towing big caravans. I can't remember anyone actually saying they had had overheating problems, you used to get that in the olden days with torque converter auto's..... I've had the VW 2.0 diesel motor in a few cars including a Passat Estate which we regularly ran down to an apartment in the Alps in summer fully loaded and with bikes on the roof, kids and a weeks worth of supplies, 35 degrees C outside and air con on. Also towed ( in the UK) a 5 berth caravan , again bikes on the roof, dog in the back + kids etc. Never saw the temp gauge rise over normal. I'm not saying there wouldn't be a circumstance where you couldn't overheat the motor without additional mods, but has anyone ever had that, in the UK...? .

Top Speed without speed limiter
It's a great nuisance to me being only able to do 155 through Germany as opposed to the full potential of....well, 158, dramatically increasing my journey times to my bolthole in the Bavarian Alps.... Fraulein, I will be there in a mo.....! 😉

Karoq Pollen Filter
Hmmm You can pick up oem grade pollen filters on the likes of ECP/Car parts4Less at bargain prices but thats still only about 20 quid for labour ! The job isn't so bad on the Karoq after you've got the hang of releasing the side catches and damper ( It's a horrible horrible job on the Octavia ) But I would say for the average punter if they are getting a branded filter fitted for £35 that was a good deal.......

Reversing camera dynamic guide lines
I've got a Karoq with the fixed guide lines and her Golf has fixed guidelines as well. An electric van we have in work ( Nissan) has the bending guide lines. I find the fixed guide lines to be virtually no help at all in reversing and just look over my shoulder as always done, but the bendy guides in the van mean you can reverse using the camera (and mirrors to check). It's a shame the Skoda(VW) have fitted an inferior product that can have no real cost saving when they could have made the car as good as a Nissan van......😬 .

Karoq Fuel Flap won’t open
Yes, when I first picked mine up I stood at the petrol station thinking " how the h*ll do I open this".... after lots of prodding & pushing it eventually opened..... Still struggle with it now..... I guess every car has to have a design fault.....🤔

Pollen filter access
I think it is behind the glovebox on MQB based cars. I and many others have posted info in the "guides" section on how to remove or at least drop the glovebox out of the way which you need to do if for example you are hard wiring a dash cam. IIRC the pollen filter access hatch is visible then......

Campaign 60E3
Ok mystery over...... I've just rung a local Skoda garage, not the absolutely incompetent one I bought it from, and the girl on the service desk was very helpful. My recall is campaign 60E3 and relates to the drain on the pano roof........... She definitely said drain, 'cos over on the Golf GTi forum many seem to suffer cracks at the side of the pano roof, I definitely don't want that thanks !

Campaign 60E3
Thanks, can't see anything that is obviously linked to the code 60E3.... Hope it's not the " Too little torque from the engine"......that sounds serious.......🏎️
-
Campaign 60E3
Just confirms no "government" ie safety recalls..... Presumably something less serious..... Intrigued to know what it is, I suppose if all else fails I could ring a dealer.....!

Campaign 60E3
Ohh........I'm worried now ! Just typed my VIN number into the VIN checker on the Skoda website and it say's there is a recall on my car, but doesn't say what it is..........? Not really looking forward to the faff of taking it back in the current climate, it's only done 400 miles !

Do I or don't I?
We had the 1.5TSi engine in an Audi A3 (badged TFSi by Audi but the same engine I believe). We had no issues with it other than it simply wasn't fast enough for my wife, who now has a GTi 245 Golf. I was going to get the 1.5TSi Karoq but opted for the 2.0TDi has it has more torques and I love the tall gearing..... Obviously given the stories around you are right to be cautious, but it would appear that not all 1.5's are afflicted. Unless you are buying brand new I would guess a test drive in your chosen vehicle before handing over the cash is the way to go.....

Detailed quality accurate information. Millimetres to two decimal places. That is what I like about this forum........😉

Karoq spare wheel
My Karoq has 19" Vega's, but it has the full size spare wheel option from the factory, which is basically a full size 16" tyre on 16" steel rim and a jack. I presume the outer diameter ( and circumference) of the tyre match those of the low profile 19" tyres if that makes sense. Basically you want to match the rolling diameter/circumference.....

Jacking car up & removing wheel
Just got the wheels off mine putting copper grease on the mating surfaces, painting the hubs silver hammerite and wax polishing the inside of the rims ( sad case of OCD I know !). The usual struggle aligning the rim on the hub so I've bought one of these tools. The website compatibility checker says it's not suitable but reading the comments above I'm guessing it is.......? Thanks for the link.

Karoq pictures
My Karoq Sportline 2.0TDi SCR Manual in Quartz Grey. Had it a week now and still loving it ! Even took the plunge and ordered a few bits off Superskoda for it last night. ( The Euro exchange rate is pants at the moment, that bit hurt ! 🤕 )

Boot cover differences... why?
Uhh.... I'm obviously the odd one out. Just sold an Octavia Estate that had a roller boot cover. Never ever used it, although I did have to completely remove it a couple of times when we wanted to fold the seats down to take stuff to the tip.... Was chuffed when I found this Karoq came with a "proper" solid cover. Over the years I have found that hatchback type vehicles tend to be quieter inside with a solid cover for the boot area. The cover is easy enough to remove if you need to surely...?
