  1. I don’t know who is the original supplier to ŠKODA, but my last car was a Jaguar and the Jag independent who serviced it recommended Pagid discs.
  2. I bought a workshop manual on dvd Rom off eBay, not expensive if I recall.
  3. Do you need Hill Descend control in the Netherlands ? 😜
  4. 27000 miles and the original Skoda discs looked ginger, not wanting to have the OEM discs fitted again I opted for Pagid discs and pads fitted by Volksmaster in Oldham. Great service and good value £600 discs and pads all round. 340mm front 310 rear
  5. Those cargo elements are the one thing that's stopping me from buying a boot mat, I find them extremely useful.
  6. I will open the tailgate and take a look at the seal on mine next time I wash the car. It certainly looks odd with water sitting on top of the seal.
  7. Little bit of polish today.
  8. As above, the radar isn’t disturbed, even if you remove the bumper. The radar isn’t mounted on the bumper, but some distance behind. I didn’t remove the bumper, just the screws at the top. No screws at the bottom only clips, but the clips at the bottom are inaccessible without removing the bumper. I wasn’t bothered about keeping the old grill surrounded, so just broke it off when I‘d removed as much as I could(top and most of the sides). The new one simply clipped in and was a good fit. I refitted the the six screws.
  9. Is this a problem with the new style steering wheel? I haven’t read about it before on this site and these all new cars.
  10. I bought a set of cheap paddle extenders, but decided against fitting them . I temporarily stuck them on with blu tack to get an idea of the ergonomics, and thought they would soon annoy me by me accidentally hitting them when using the stalks. Other paddle extenders maybe better though .
  11. Impressive! You must have really long lunch breaks.
  12. I removed the top trim off mine in order to gain access to the upper grill surround clips. I couldn’t get to the lower clips without taking the bumper off, so ended up breaking off the old grill surround. New on clipped in very simply.
  13. I had a 3 year service back in June, I remember the brake fluid change was part of the schedule. I was only recommended to take up the air con service, but I passed on this option. No mention of the Haldex fluid change was made, but I only had 17,000 miles on the clock.
  14. It looks like a postcode for Buxton
  15. I returned from a two week driving holiday in Germany last weekend and noticed a couple of cars over there with winter tyres on already, even though it was 28C . I guess it could be that the owners didn’t bother fitting summer tyres at all
  16. Winter tyres is the correct emphasis. The idea is you fit winter tyres suitable for running on snow and ice during the winter months, since these tend to be a higher profile then the use of comparatively cheap steel wheels is the most common option to use. My next tyres are more likely to be “all season” types, suitable for use all year round, thus saving the hassle and cost of a second set of wheels. l
  17. It looks really good, did you have the headlights tinted?
  18. The little trim is actually attached to/part of the plastic wheel arch trim. I used a plastic trim tool to pull it away from the body enough to clean and apply a sticky pad. A second pair of hands is useful to have at this point.
  19. Hi, yes the revised mud flaps a the way forward, the old type have a lower clamp as seen in the photo and this clamp pulls the outer trim out of position. The part number for the revised type is 565075111A (the “A” identifier for the revised type) and I bought them from Superskoda . I stuck the trim back down with some 3M sticky pads I bought from eBay and cut down to size.
  20. Not really had any problem with it except for a warning that it didn’t know the speed limit crossing the new Forth bridge.
  21. It’s for better efficiency when you inform your insurance company.😆
  22. Hi Andy, I presume you’ve had remap? Any details you can share, as I’m considering one myself. Sorry about the thread hi jack, I get low 30’s with mixed driving , when I bother to check 😆
  23. I think the auto hold only uses the rear brakes, and every time you set off some wear must occur before the parking/rear brake has fully disengaged. Also you can just set off from the red traffic light without disengagement of the handbrake with your hand. Both will contribute to rear brake wear. I don’t usually use the auto hold as I have to creep slowly into my garage and it makes this more difficult .😬 With such a low price differential I would probably go with the franchised dealer 🤪.
