  1. How old is the phone and what Android version is it running? Try a different phone if you can to see if it has the same issue. Obviously go through the Android Auto settings when connected to the car just to make sure there is nothing strange set up.
  2. Do you have another blue-tooth device connected to your phone? On a different make of car with Android Auto combined with an Amazon Echo Auto I had a bizarre situation where some audio came out of the tiny Echo Auto speaker inc phone calls taken in the car. There was also a bit of a tussle as to which device (Amazon Echo Auto or Android Auto) controlled the navigation. I stopped using the Echo Auto altogether and all was well - it was only a hangover of something I used in my previous Ludite S model Superb II that had blue-tooth but nothing else re infotainment technology.
  3. Normally it's when you've sat on your keys or had them in your pocket and accidently pushed and held the unlock button , as well as unlocking the car it will drop the windows. When you don't use the door handles to enter the car - it automatically re locks but the windows stay down. I once managed to get my mkI Superb very wet inside after I did the same with the keys in my pocket whilst sat on the settee. Never did the same on my mkII Superb as I now always hang the keys up but I did use the feature in the summer to drop the windows approaching the car parked up in the summer to let the hot air out! Likewise pushing an holding the lock button is useful for raising all windows. Infact I really missed the function when I bought a new car this year but discovered in the manual it was a possible dealer enabled setting - now done!
  4. I think the usb sockets are switched via the ignition so no need to unplug. Buy a top quality short lead though usb C to mini usb?
  5. I'd re check the work relating to/around the wheel bearing -it's the last thing done to it. With the car supported safely with front wheels in the air start and engage a gear - anything spinning including the driveshaft nuts at the end of the hubs? I have know incorrect fitment / striping of splines on a shaft (by me on a Ford years ago!). You might see drive shaft spinning but wheel not turning. If wheel turning apply brakes gently. The car in question for me was a Ford Zodiac where rear splines rounded as I hadn't torqued up enough and it came loose. I thought the clutch had gone but we suddenly realised propshaft was spinning - Just a thought! Probably not but worth checking. [EDIT] Just read post above - stereo!
  6. I think that's a ballast unit on the rear so HID. I've only done halogen H7 so I'll let someone else reply.
  7. My computer only wants to download the file rather that viewing on the forum - and has flagged up a security warning. Is it possible to post the photos directly to the forum to be viewed? Are your headlights halogen bulbs or HID? Probably the latter as it's an elegance. My recently sold poverty spec 2014 facelift S model had easily accessible rubber caps and the H7 halogen bulbs were a simple anticlockwise twist and remove.
  8. I'm afraid it's one of the reasons I've moved away from the Skoda / VAG brand after many decades. My wife especially hates touch screens for basic functions. The current Octavia would have been perfect for us but for the touch screen of doom - also endless talk of software updates and issues didn't help.
  9. How many months?:- https://www.theaa.com/car-buying/legal-rights
  10. Has the oil pump drive been updated - known bad fail point as it also drives a balancer module? This engine was the first to be fitted with a bad implementation of a DPF.
  11. Hmm, rear camera - I now have it (not on a Skoda) and will not specify any new car without it!!
  12. I've usually associated reluctance to go into first or reverse gear with clutch drag,
  13. Tapping noise re injectors is normal re Tsi engines but shouldn’t be audible inside the cabin.
  14. Did you jet wash the car to clean it? A direct blast can sometimes upset sensor gubbins etc temporarily.

  16. Fair enough re no metal parts (my Fiat does have metal parts!) but the fluid that came out of mine , which was an external slave (petrol Superb 1.4tsi) , was a very murky dark colour. Mine was fine after fluid change although to be honest a few months later the whole clutch was changed anyway so a new slave was fitted whilst it was in bits.
  17. I had a similar problem with my Superb mkII a while ago. Get your brake fluid changed including bleeding through the clutch slave cylinder. There is a dump valve within the clutch hydraulics to protect the clutch but if the fluid in the clutch has not been replaced at the same time as the brakes in the past it can rust etc causing sticking. Sometimes replacing the fluid helps, well it did on my mkII 1.4tsi Superb - the fluid came out a grotty colour! It was ok afterwards but later when the clutch wore out I had the slave cylinder changed as well. PS yes it's a common fluid reservoir between brake & clutch. Does yours have an external or internal/concentric clutch slave cylinder?
  18. The small cc petrol tsi engines tug a Superb along really well and economy is generally great. I've just sadly sold my 2014 1.4tsi Superb mkII which has been fabulous over the last near decade of ownership (I bought nearly new in 2015). It generally averaged late 40's mpg although 50+ mpg was possible on a gentle run. If just driving around town then mpg was late 30's / early 40's . My overall average mpg was about 46 mpg. I think the sweet spot re Superb small cc engines is the 1.4tsi EA211 in the Superb mkIII. PS I'm 6ft 4" tall and also have problems fitting comfortably into various cars especially re B pillar position being too far forward and my elbows and knees are in the wrong position re arm rests/ banging into door furniture.

Have you installed Waze on your phone - surely with Android Auto or Apple carplay if you have it installed you should be able to select Waze,
  20. Fuel economy seems to be consistently good - trip around Norwich and back up to Yorkshire. Boot a good size and shape- it's more or less the same as the Corolla Touring Sport.
  21. Yup, I've been eyeing up the Toyota hybrid gubbins for a while but I didn't fit in many Toyotas. I found the driving comfort / position fabulous and boot space is the same size as the mkII Superb, albeit different. So for us Swace seems great - time will tell.
  22. I had a 2003 mik I Superb for 10 years before that, oh and a mkI Octavia. We've been a Skoda family since 2001 - so this is a big change!
  23. It's with a heavy heart I have to say I'm no longer a Skoda owner. After 9.5 fabulous years my 2014 Skoda Superb 1.4tsi mkII is under new ownership. Now I'm retired we've been trying to downsize to one car and even though Mrs BJ loved being a passenger she found the Superb too big to drive. The recent Octavia was ruled out as basic functions such as heating etc were on the touch screen. The Scala was considered but I was worried about the long list of comments re issues with the infotainment/screen/SOS and even though it's reasonable the boot isn't quite big enough for going camping etc which strangely we've got back into in our old age now retired. I ended up buying a very nearly new Suzuki Swace (26 miles on the clock - Toyota Corolla hybrid in drag) for a stonking deal as in 2025 Suzuki are reducing the range of cars to SUV's (no thanks) and electric only cars (not yet?) due to the manufacturer fines being introduced re % of electric cars. I've had the Swace a few days now and am still getting used to it - just had my first long trip away. Economy - wow!! although petrol tank is smallish. Boot is fabulous, the compromise is rear passenger space compared to the Superb but these days it's mainly just two of us. However the Superb will be missed.
