  1. On the subject can anyone recommend a set that fit the rear hub on a FL VRS
  2. ha fair enough, just the website you have shown was exclusive of VAT!
  3. no 4x4 Octy with the 2.0 turbo engine, otherwise It would be the best option, I was looking at those BMW 335D/535D, very tempting option too if I can find one in the right price bracket, think Im going to set myself a limit of 25K, I reckon thats as far as I can stretch finances, and the lower below that the better!
  4. curious as to why you went to a different site than the one I showed you which sells them cheaper?
  5. You are right of course, and its another option Im considering, but after a few years I always get itchy feet, hard to resist something different! Think what I need to do is go look at and drive the cars Im interested in, then assess from there if I can justify they expense, I would be more sensible selling up and buying a cheap runabout and putting the cash into my Mortgage, but I have my car as a my reward for working, as I dont smoke and rarely drink these days.
  6. mmmm, Jag XF is a nice car, although a bit big, wouldnt they be 5 series/A6 sized?
  7. www.autoalloys.com you will find them on.there, they are a rep of genuine vw alloy, think the name is "Charleston"
  8. thanks for the input guys, looks like Im going to have a hard time replacing the VRS without getting into the 25-30K bracket! I think If I go the TDI route, I would look at the BMWs, but if Petrol Im going to go the Audi route...
  9. Head says S4, Heart says S5, lol
  10. Pooch I would love an S4 (or S5) but getting them in the correct price range could be difficult, you are absolutely correct in that its an almost natural progression, Im off to look at some prices....
  11. How the time flies, my VRS is almost 3 years old, and Im starting to get itchy feet! anyone have any suggestions? criteria: current VRS is just shy of 300hp and 330lbft Torque, so ideally something around that with ability to be tuned for more when I get bored (usually do) I commute about 24 miles a day in total, with a few 50 mile trips every so often, so doesnt matter if diesel or petrol TBH. getting around 35mpg avg with up to 40mpg on a run, and with £200 tax per year, the car is very affordable (for the performance), dont mind a small jump but no low 20mpgs or £400 tax! minimum 4 seats, anything Polo/Fabia sized onwards really, and decent spec/interior too would like awd/4wd also, I feel 2WD is going to struggle with any more than 300hp in our dismal climate. doesnt have to be new, but no older than 2011 I think. current contender is perhaps a Golf R, or perhaps Audi S3........
  12. THS would be the better choice than S3 for what you are doing Afaik John, you should look into the new Revo intake, ITG or EVOMS, they all seem to get the best results
  13. seriously think a 330d is crossing the bridge to expensive upkeep, just hear of so many problems with them, which is really not what you are looking for
  14. my buddy had an S40 with the D5, seemed a nice little engine to me, sounded nice for a derv too, maybe a little thirstier than our 2.0 tdi, but it is a 2.4! ran 190 stock also!
  15. yes, its the DP that needs to be free flowing for Stage 2, which you already have, many people mate that to the stock system no problems
  16. yep, Ive got a set of them in my want list, just getting funds sorted out again now Im back working! although Im not sure I will upgrade until I see if I can get a good deal on a new VRS first......
  17. Hows the comfort with H&R? I find my Weitecs a little firm, but then Im getting old lol
  18. always satisfying to fix something like that yourself and save a packet!
  19. Flat bottomed wheel would be nice, I would wrap the grill while you are at it TBH, I dont find Plastidip to be all that hard wearing or resilient to stone chips!
  20. so the RS5 Nicky.......... have you modded it yet?
  21. mechanic I know says there is apparently a new version thats completely different, whether its a success or not I dont know!
  22. interesting, never seen fogs in a main cluster before that I can think of, wouldnt they be less effective? still wouldnt stop me buying an RS5 if I had the monies!
  23. was just on looking at the RS again (mmmmm) and a question occurred to me, what happens when its Foggy Nick? are there no foglights?
  24. does this mean corrida red is no longer available?
