thanks for the info Evan, I was infact referencing the clutch from the 2.0 TSI EA888 engine as fitted to MK6 Golf GTi etc.

For me I wish they had a definitive solution for the chain tensioner issue on the 2.0 tsi, its something constantly at the back of my mind and probably one of the main reasons im looking rid.....

Impressive, how is the clutch coping? Is it a stronger unit than fitted to last gen TSI models? also any plans to map the 184 TDI unit Evan?

what year is it, mate had one in his 08 vectra and had no probs, apparently from that year on the swirl flaps etc didnt cause probs.

if it does go ahead I reckon it would be either sporting the 265 variant of the Cupra engine (and also no LSD), just to keep it distanced from the "Halo" models, or if we are lucky and they do go for the 280 variant, its pretty much a cert that we will be getting the LSD too.

yeah you are correct Fubar, its an Msport Im after, Im a bit paranoid about 535d as hear a lot of people found them problematic and to be honest, I suspect a mapped 530 is probably enough for me these days. Theres a nice looking Silver 530 Msport in Randalstown (on paper anyway) but Im having a hard time deciding how to get rid of the VRS without just handing it back. TBH Im still thinking of a cheap econo car for a while too but not sure I can bring myself to it!
