  1. yeh if u have a laptop it's handy enough, plug xbox-laptop with ethernet cable, then the laptops wifi connection can be bridged. failing that, buy a long cable and do it the old fashioned way
  2. anybody know if these will fit the Octy1 without any trouble?
  3. welcome! WRC owner, eh? i'm not jealous at all........... :weeping: :weeping: :weeping:
  4. health is the most important thing. full stop. if you are stressing about what the manager will do next, it'll only make you worse. get well, then get back to work.
  5. I actually quite enjoy it in a sick kind of way. i am constantly amazed by the level of stupidity and ignorance in some of these fruitloops. Makes me feel better about my own life Isn't that what Television is all about?
  6. will this fit the Octy 1 too?
  7. i could do with a new vRS badge for the grille on my octavia too, paint is coming off. part number would be welcome!
  8. i had a "different" experience with that same salesman.
  9. my mate had one, followed by a skyline and an e36 m3. He maintains to this day that the GTV was the most fun out of all of them! and that was the 150bhp one!
  10. thanks mate, anybody else done this in the past? country roads with a sudden grassy hump in the centre of the road :( wasn't even going that fast, it just snuck up on me.
  11. sorry guys, 1j0, i forgot between the car and the computer! looks like its that v belt cover. next question is, considering i've just ripped it off and knackered it completely, is my car going to explode, can i live without it, and is it going to cost a fortune to fix? thanks guys!
  12. i have a feeling i have managed to break a piece off the bottom of my car, its big and black and fiberglass, part number written on it is 1L0 825 250 G ? unless of course it's a pure coincidence that there was a VW branded part in the spot that i heard a "bang"
  13. thanks a mil mate i really really appreciate it! i;ll buy you a pint next time you're in dublin!
  14. hey guys, sorry to repost this but i'm still at a loss, anybody got any suggestions? i'm losing sleep over it! :(
  15. hey andy, yeah, it seems to be okay, the service centre have ordered in a new cruise control sensor apparently, so it should be done on monday. Just shows you that it's not safe to assume that Skoda Garages know anything about Skodas!
  16. thanks mate!, had a quick look, quite decent turnouts!
  17. thanks razor , jebus, i'll keep an eye out for the Rally Red with 220BHP  t
  18. :thumbdwn: just cleaning the car yesterday after a long motorway trip, noticed the plastic "cover" that sits on top of the drivers side headlight washer has flown off- looks a bit silly now :( anybody have a part number for this so I can get one ordered ASAP? so annoyed with myself for not gluing it when i noticed it was a bit loose
  19. The live CD of Ubuntu/Knoppix or Mandriva will give you a good indication of whether or not the hardware will run. To be honest with the newer kernels, the vast majority of graphics chipsets/network cards/sound cards/mice/modems will be fine- where I have run into trouble is with the Power Management- your laptop may suddenly drain the battery for no apparent reason. Wireless adaptors are another common problem, there are ways to adapt a standard windows driver to work but it's messy and some chips just don't work. I've dual booted Mandriva and Ubuntu with windows XP in the past, but to be honest because of the niggling issues I just ended up booting windows every time anyway.
  20. nah, in dublin. to be honest, i'm mostly just annoyed at being lied to- the ironic thing is that the its he lied about wouldn't have impacted my decision to buy at all. aside from these 1 or 2 problems, which should be sorted this week, i'm delighted with the car. pity skoda salesmen aren't as quality as the cars they sell
  21. just spoke to the salesman again, he checked the chassis number and confirmed it had factory fitted CC as standard! Guess it's a wiring problem somewhere, so hopefully sorted! I must admit, I am seriously unimpressed by the dealer, he isn't going to pay for the centre caps for the wheels that are missing, and he outright lied to me about the cars history. Got me wondering about what else he's lied about :(
  22. yeah, i've definately got the stalk, but it does nothing. is there anything else on the instrument panel etc that would give me a hint? i hope it's an oversight, as the dealer told me it had it!
  23. Hi all, Just picked up the 2002 vRS 2 days ago, and I'm loving every minute of it, except the cruise control hasn't worked since i picked it up :( Took it into the service centre and mentioned it, and I'm bringing it in again tomorrow, but he freaked me out a bit by saying "I don't think it has cruise control" Now, it has the control stalk, so presumably is has CC, right? Another idea flashed through my mind, if the ECU has been remapped, does it affect the cruise control at all? Anyhoo, tomorrow night I should know for sure I suppose, just looking for some reassurance!
  24. yeah, must admit i lost interest at the start of this series, it was just too much like hard work with the cliffhangers getting crazier and crazier. Now I read that they aren't ending it for another 3 seasons or something, not worth the effort!
