  1. Nope, 1.8 petrol
  2. If set up correctly, an induction system should always improve the breathability and in turn the performance over just an 'Panel Air filter'. I had one set up with a cold air feed on my mk3 Golf which certainly made a noticeable difference when coupled with a performance exhaust. I installed the Carbon Dynamic Airbox (CDA) from BMC, which I would highly recommend: https://www.bmcairfilters.com/en
  3. I was very unfortunate to drive at normal speed (25mph) into a massive pot hole, this thing was easily the width of the car. Therefore all 4 wheels went into it. Since then, I have noticed that the car doesn't seem as 'tight' as it previous;y was. Everything seems to have loosened up a bit. I can still tighten things up by switching to 'Sport mode' but would like things to return to how they used to be. The ride quality is also not as smooth and 'refined' as it was prior to the incident. I've had everything checked by the Indy, he states there's no damage anywhere. Is there anything i can do to tighten things up again? New PowerFlex bushes perhaps? (I have no experience of these, just blowing into the wind). Thanks
  4. If they do actually need doing, the price they've quoted you isn't too far off. I've just had mine replaced, front discs and pads, with Brembo equivalents which are pretty decent. I didn't want to compromise on stopping. The cost just to buy the parts was £105 per disc per wheel and £67 per pad per wheel, so £344 for parts only. Not sure what kind of labour they're charging you.
  5. Took my 230 to the garage to have new discs and pads fitted the other day. When it was returned, the memory buttons on the seats weren't working. My pre-sets had been deleted and I was not able to set new ones. Spoke tot he garage who swear they did nothing to any of the settings. Could they have been reset somehow? How do I get them back please? I'm able to adjust the seat, just not store the setting.
  6. This is an amazing idea; has anyone done this successfully?
  7. I had the differential oil changed at the last service, last year at 40k. I was advised that it should be changed every 40k or 3 years.
  8. Vehicle Information Reg: VR55OAK Make: Skoda Model: Octavia Vrs Tsi S-A Colour: White Vehicle Type: Car Body Style: Hatchback Fuel Type: Petrol Engine Size: 1984cc BHP: 217 BHP Top Speed: 152 MPH 0-60 MPH: 6.90 Secs AVG Yearly Mileage: 8400 Insurance Group: 29 V5C Issue Date: 04 December 2018 Vehicle Age: 6 years 1 months Year: 2016
  9. That's definitely been lowered mate. It also seems a tad expensive for a 50k mile 2016. See if you can get the reg so we can check the history. Remember: If it's too good to be true, it probably is...
  10. My advice would be take your time, and keep your eyes open. I was searching for 11 months before I finally found what I was looking for: the exact car in the colour I wanted in the exact spec. No compromise. Be prepared to wait, but go for what you want, no regrets afterwards. Also, a friend that's a car dealer says prices are slowly coming down, so holding on a couple of months may work out better for you.
  11. Not really an essential part if you ask me; I would live without it. Or get those velcro things, they're great, and I can't get enough of them: https://www.theskodashop.co.uk/products/skoda-boot-hold-fixings-velcro-6v0061104?_pos=1&_sid=a5afcdf58&_ss=r
  12. Can you not just replace the whole sunvisor?
  13. Great! How did you do this?
  14. I have one. You can only really hear the Turbo working under hard acceleration.
  15. Mk7 Golf GTi engine?
  16. It wasn't a Skoda Technician, but an Independent Garage, specialising in MQB platform, specifically EA888 G3. He was talking from experience, as a preventative measure to avoid any issues.
  17. However I refrained from using anything too strong, as I thought the bulbs in third brake light may need replacing at some point...
  18. I have the exact same problem with my 2016 vRS; the third brake light keeps detaching itself.
  19. Isn't it odd how something can get behind there; there's hardly any space with the fuses and pollen filter etc. well done for spotting it though mate.
  20. What made you remove the glove box, or were you doing something else?
  21. Very annoying, but thanks for the tip!
  22. What happens if you turn it off and then leave it off. Start the car, and then turn it on? (so it's not on automatically at start up)
  23. I had my front diff oil done on my 230 in March; the same time as the oil change at 40k miles. As far as I'm aware, this is the first time in it's life. Cost me £110 and was advised to have it done every 3 years or 40k miles, whichever comes first. Also advised regular oil change yearly or 5,000 miles, Brake fluid every 2 years, Spark Plugs every 40k.
  24. Does it matter that my current tyres are 225's not 235's?
