  1. I’ll do it after work. One thing to report, if it dips while manoeuvring and you don't drive away or put it back it stays down and doesnt remember to come back up. Effectively only making it useful 50% of the time
  2. I’m with J.R. It’s not a head bolt, no oil leaks on 191k 1.9tdi and likely only ever had the bolt swapped once or twice.
  3. They are meant to be internally lubricated. I would guess that the creak is most likely coming from the ball joint, maybe worth a blob of grease, they are super easy to remove. 540N seems to ring a bell, there is a similar topic to this somehwere where someone did the same as me with the sound deadening and put some way overpowered struts on (650N maybe?) and said his boot nearly took off so only ended up using 1. Plenty of auto spares sites that you can use to replace them.
  4. MMI - multimedia interface, or head unit (gotta love an acronym) My settings match that of the first post. Sorry I cant be of more help. It’s weird how this works on some and not others. It worked a treat from factory on my 2017 A3 (no memory). I enabled it in the wife’s 65 TT and it worked too well, planted the mirror to the floor and gave no option in the MMI. All similar platforms
  5. Just enabled it on mine 2016 no memory seats. Checked my settings matched the OPs, enabled it in MMI and made sure mirror switch was in “L”. Started engine put into R, mirror drops, moved switch back to centre and it returned to original position like when driving off. Happy with that, thanks OP
  6. I added some sound deadening to my boot and it highlighted the problem. I ordered some higher force rated ones and got sent identical ones by mistake but they do open it a lot better, cars only 4 as well
  7. I seem to be following you around, I’m currently sat trying to enable water temp in my off road gauges without success
  8. remember the settings cover most vag cars so just cause you can see it in obd11 doesnt mean your car has it
  9. Auxiliary heater on? Pretty sure my revs are higher when its on cause it draws so much current
  10. I just wanted something other than fwd. no other reason.
  11. That’s similar consumption I’m getting in a 4x4 estate vrs so I would say something is off. My journeys are a lot shorter with COVID at the moment as well edited to add I use windscreen heater, supplementary heater, heated seats, heated mirrors (all the things that make the little bar go up) But I do drive straight off normally and accept it uses more in winter
  12. Some people are so quick to judge! I have a tad now and again in wetter weather and treat it as normal but these pictures are something else. Been testing out the wading depth?
  13. Update in case anyone is as anal as me and wants to give this a go. The mounting is different but would be possible to be butchered to fit, as it has the same dia steering column. The plugs are of the same design however the cc stalk on the a3 has its plug. I tried plugging indicators and wipers in before doing anything with the cruise and the wipers went haywire. After realising it was a procrastination tactic for Uni I have binned the idea and accepted my standard stalks
  14. Dropped mine off at dealership for a bit of work and the courtesy car (octavia mk3 fl) doors were frozen shut. I think its one of those physics things that you have to accept
  15. Thanks for the input. Im going to give it ago (eBay seller was rapid!) Im sat staring at it thinking there is a lot of room for combinations of pins and blank holes and the plugs look the same. Wish me luck
  16. Morning everybody. Pretty sure this hasn’t been covered after many searchings. I’m looking at swapping the indicator stalk for the A3 one as I hate the switch on the indicator. My 2004 A4 has a separate lever below the indicator stalk and my previous 2017 A3 had one as well and I prefer it so so much for functionality. Does anyone have any information on these? I have found pics for reference but there’s an extra plug on the A3 could this be repinned as the functions are identical. Another thing I came across is coding to tell my car that cruise is controlled by a separate stalk vs indicator. So any information from people in the know? Pics from eBay for reference.
  17. In my ‘old’ 2017 A3, there was a * button on the steering wheel that I could assign a function to. I had it set to ‘dark running’ mode. It basically turned the maxi dot off and combined with the screen off made a nice dim interior. Obviously Ive figured out how to turn the main screen off and control the brightness of the clocks but I’m wondering if Ive missed something to turn off the maxi dot. Also anyone figured a way to reassign functions to the steering wheel assist button? I rarely press it so would love to change its function
  18. Upgrade complete. Took 10 minutes to swap the screens. It has improved the reversing camera no end and the app button works!
  19. Thanks for that. I hoped that would be the case. Is there much coding required to go from a MIB2 to 2.5 should I wish to upgrade down the line?
  20. Ive been doing lots of reading on this matter and think I want to upgrade my mib2 screen to the 8" FL version. Ive been spurred on by the recent fitting of the Ali express reversing camera (great shout by the way like a factory install). My 1 question is, If I buy a 5E0919605M screen that says "component protection" at the top does that need removing or does that apply to the "head unit" in the glovebox..
  21. Which engine? My diesel VRS hovers around 35-45mpg
  22. I just drove 70 miles in a similar manner and avg 44. On my old A3 1.6tdi dsg I would have to have the foot planted, carrying weight and bikes on the roof to see less than 50mpg. I know its a smaller car but not that much
  23. Another thing is, the UK has always been relatively friendly towards classic vehicles with our obsession with heritage and tradition etc. How will this way up for classic cars and vehicles? Are they just going to be buried one night? What will happen to all that value in classic cars if they do
  24. Glad I found this thread. Mine are set far too low, they aren't at the same level which makes me think somethings up. Ive had cars with LEDs and HIDs before so I know what to expect. Looks like a trip to the dealer (to get fobbed off) is in order!
  25. So was it the papers mis reporting this originally? I thought it was a blanket ban on petrol and diesel motors. Seems like a step in the softer direction. Especially as the likes of ford and Mazda are introducing mild hybrids to circumvent this ruling.
