  1. A tip for you I have mine set to 70% so you can't hear it in normal mode only sport. I know its not the best sound but I want to hear the revs when in spot and manual to know shift points etc, its too quiet without (absolutely not a complaint btw!!)
  2. Just to add in another option I had a rattle coming from the passenger door card in the bottom left corner, pressing against it stopped it. I popped out the red safety light and added some felt tape to its wire and it seems to have stopped for now
  3. I have the 3 in red. If you were to break it down say £20 for the big one and £15 for each of the lateral ones I think its fair. They are well made and look like they will last.
  4. After driving my friends 330e I would say that one. In another league compared with the skoda
  5. I fitted led foglights to mine, Ill check what option I have selected for mine to not throw an error tomorrow
  6. I can also confirm that is what the clunking is, I had the same. The loom is huge so presses against the recirc flap, the clunk is the motor torquing out. As said careful rerouting will sort it.
  7. If you change drive side in infotainment it swaps it over for when touring. I coded both mine to be on at the same time
  8. Hey does this sound like yours?
  9. Nightmare adding a video under 10mb with todays phones
  10. A bit later than planned. Probably easier to hear on the video in the over run but its louder on acceleration IMG_9052.MP4
  11. Diesel, I will have to go out tomorrow and get one, bet it doesnt do it tomorrow
  12. Hello everyone. The old octavia makes a weird rattle sound about 2(and a bit) to 2.5k revs. Like a sort of old timey diesel going bonk bonk boink in time to the cylinder. Its loudest under partial load. Is it just a character of this engine or is something loose that someones had before. 60k ish miles. Gets plenty of motorway use and happens regardless of engine temp
  13. Yeah, can't see them in your photo, they are fine but still visible
  14. By comparison, how is the sound proofing in a superb? I couldn't believe the complete lack of it in the octavia. Will be a future consideration of mine if it is any good.
  15. yep agree, theres just too many people that seem to get confused between driving mode and gearbox mode
  16. I do hope it changes in the future. I like the way my 17 build just remembers driving mode, I swap between them depending on mood and rarely use Normal. a good alternative would be to make Normal customisable or make Individual the default option. If you've gone to the effort of changing settings you probably know what you're doing with it and aren’t instantly going to mow down a bunch of school children because you drove 20 yds before realising you were in sport, or rear ended a car because you coasted briefly in E. We really arent allowed to think for ourselves anymore in the car world are we
  17. no matter what you change or edit with driving modes, when you move your gear selector from P to D that is exactly what you will get. E is just a variation of D when in eco mode. if you want S before going through D that just will never happen. Think of it like S is the next step on and you cant get to it without going through D
  18. In case you haven't done it already or someone else comes across this. I just (last night) fitted the led ones, they are very similar in light output to std A3, Golf etc. Seem to be a lower profile than the w5w ones, helps fitting. I wouldn't buy a bulb that has a shorter lifespan than a led, in case the led which is meant to last 100x longer burns out. Single led light units are readily available for ~£10. The other advantage is you don't end up with stadium level lighting in the footwell if you do decide to swap to some Chinese led bulbs. PS I coded my lights to the 4*3W LED option and that gives me full control of the brightness and doesn't throw an error code.
  19. Whoa garage door opener? You must be looking for the Audi forums haha, just kidding, good luck with the retrofit!
  20. I also disabled AM on mine, likely someone has done it on yours. Put me up for a couple of weeks in the south of France this summer and Ill come down and sort it for ya!
  21. Not turn any safety features off? Calling BS on that one.
  22. Thats just the WLTP test figures. Theres probably more of a difference in the real world. For instance theres only supposed to be a slight fuel consumption penalty for mine being 4x4... sure, sure.
  23. If you look on the struts they have this stamped, its not super obvious but once youve seen it you realise
  24. I tend to sit on the toilet... sorry... not sorry, couldnt help myself Agree with PetrolDave, try taking a tad longer on the shift, like holding the gear lever at the pressure point and letting it fall into gear when its ready so to speak. If it doesnt do it then that confirms it.
  25. Not sure if this is what you wanted or if it helps any more. Also to update turns out it does return to original position with ignition off so my previous post was incorrect. It works 100% as it should (just like my 2017 A3 that was a factory enabled feature sans memory seats etc)
