I think this is a good idea. Paint and clear coat are not what they used to be. I mean we also have one Fabia 3 at home and in 2 years the bonnet was fully covered in paint chips. A lot more compared to my old Honda Accord with 370k km.

I totally understand your frustration. We are currently allowed to move inside our region for recreational reasons. But most of the side roads are covered with sand and salt so it's quite a bad feeling driving on that. And I just found out today that my appointment for PPF installation is moved from this week to 9th of February. So not much driving for me either for the next month. I hope they will manage to squeeze me in to some earlier date.

Haha then they would be even nicer. We currently have sub zero temperatures throughout the day, so washing at home is not an option. And all hand car washes are closed because of covid.

I bought 18" wheels for the winter, the same size as original. And since this was my first ride with the car, I can't compare the noise with anything. Although I think the ride in general is quite quiet.

It depends on temperatures you have during the winter. And if winter tires are mandatory in your country or not. Here in Slovenia we have sub 5° C temperatures around 4 months per year and around 2 months with temperatures below freezing in most part of the country. And winters tires are mandatory between 15th of November till 15th of March. Or summer tiers with chains in the trunk.

You need to put away such thoughts the moment you ordered the car! Silver is not a bad color either!

I agree. I was a bit afraid how will they look on the car since I bought them "blind". There are not many pictures of the MK4 out there with aftermarket wheels. But it turned out quite good.

This is the only smart thing to do to get yourself a set of winter tires for the winter months. Even if there is no snow at all. When temperatures drop close to 5° C and under, summer tires become hard and they loose the characteristics they have at higher temperatures.

And here is mine. Finally. With the aftermarket winter wheels. Not the best weather to pick up the new car.

I just ordered it because it was interesting and cheap. But now, when I found out that it's always automatically turned on when you start the car, I'm not sure I still like the idea. Well...I guess I'll see tomorrow if they have installed it or not.

I just checked Octavia RS configurator here in Slovenia and the sound actuator is listed under standard equipment. But I'm sure it wasn't there back in October when I ordered my car since I know I selected it from the options list. I also have it listed on my initial print out from the dealer. So...I'm thinking. It could be that sound actuator wasn't on the serial list at he beginning. And if you ordered your car at that time, the only way you would get it is if you selected it from the optional list. When did you order your car? Do you sound actuator listed on your car offer? If you go to Mode -> Individual, you don't have any option there to turn on/off the sound?
