  1. @Amarton still no go for disabling (or turn on memory function) start-stop?
  2. I think these are different kind of updates. Updating of system/computer modules (like clima, kessy, etc...) requires dealer intervention and can't be updated remotely. On the other hand, updates for the infotainment system are automatic and cen be done over car's internet connection.
  3. Thank you for the update. What I would really like to know is why the sw difference between UK and Slovenia for example. You are on the latest sw with number 1668. And I'm also on the latest sw with version 1788.
  4. Good luck. I think updates should fix at least the climate panel opening and lane assist. Fingers crossed! My dealer told me some updates for certain modules can take as much as an hour to finish. So 15 updates can take quite some time to finish. Do you have any pictures of that worn paint on drivers kick plate?
  5. Because if you turn it off, car doesn't make any sound at all. I don't like particularly how it sounds, but it's better than without it. You get at least a bit of a filling being in sports car.
  6. You could ask yourself why can't VAG group design such headlights. Since this "issue" with led lights is present on all VAG group cars. But it is present also on BMW cars, Mercedes, even on a Lamborghini.
  7. Yeah, I agree. It's not a nice feeling, specially not on a new car. I need to check my rear lights.
  8. This is not an issue. This is normal with all led lights.
  9. I tried youtube. It was quite a difference comparing to the Radio.
  10. I'm a bit disappointed with the woofer and the lack of bass kick. Although it is much better if I listen to the music through my phone.
  11. This is normal. A lot of new cars with LED headlights have this "issue". BMW, VW, AUDI, RENAULT, etc. Until there are bigger drops of water in the light, warranty request (usually) won't go through.
  12. As far as I know Infotainment software updates are downloaded automatically and you get a notification once they are available to install. I have 1788 version. But after two automatic updates version is still the same. Even after the update of two computer modules (kessy and clima) at the dealer, version didn't change. So I'm not sure when version changes. Dealer confirmed currently there are no other updates available for my car.
  13. The cons...money. I really don't see any other cons rather than that. The pros...as you said, since it is a new engine potentially some metal scraps can build up and with an oil change you get rid of them. That's it. I'm not a mechanic so I don't know is this is true or not since all the engines are already "run in" in the factory (as the dealer told me). When I picked up my car the dealer asked me to choose regular service interval (15k km or 1 year) or long one (30k km or 1 year). Since I own a VRS I decided for the short one as I believe that oil looses a lot of its characteristics after 15k km. Also almost everyone on the internet advises to change the oil every 15k km, at least for the TSI VRS. I couldn't find anything about the service plan and what is required to change on each service yet.
  14. It was an oil change on my request after 2000 km. I know there are different opinions on the internet about whether this is really needed or not, but I decided to do it anyway.
  15. Unfortunately not. Just that the kessy module was updated. I didn't have any issues though with kessy since I got the car.
  16. I asked the dealer if there are any updates available for my car. And they did the update together with the first oil change.
  17. I see someone reacted to my post with sad smiley face. I must mention this is a good thing. Before that AC menu showed up every time you pressed the heat button on the steering wheel which was quite annoying.
  18. I can't find anymore where this was mentioned. I went to the dealer yesterday to get two updates. One for kessy and one for air conditioning unit. And now AC menu doesn't come on anymore when you press button for heating steering wheel.
  19. Ohh ok. Strange. Thanks for replying.
  20. @Ozzy25 I was told that the shape is not the same? That the one for mk3 is a bit more curved so the back side doesn't lay fully on the bonnet. Is that not the case?
  21. I'm sure you didn't buy Octavia 3 when it first came out, right? I'm sure they also had issue when the mk3 was first launched. As far as I know most car manufacturers have issues when a new model is launched. Ok, now days this is a bit multiplied since there is much more tech in the new cars. Please don't understand me wrong. Some of you guys have way too much issues which I agrees they shouldn't happen. I'm not sure what would I do if I was in your shoes.
  22. I was told changing behavior of start/stop system is not yet possible on the new Octavia mk4. If anyone is interested, a company in Slovenia can already change a few settings on the new Octavia mk4. They also do remote coding (I'm not sure if remote coding is available for the new Octavia): http://www.mtl.si/sl/avto-storitve/item/192-vcds_remote_coding_service_for_vw_audi_seat_and_skoda_cars.html Link to youtube videos what is possible (not all options are listed on youtube):
  23. Looks like the ones on Ebay are higher quality hahah
  24. I don't know. It's just a pic from Ebay UK.
  25. Not a fan of it. Maybe if the car would be in some other color. Or if you plan to add some other little bits in green and red. Maybe changing the front VRS badge to the red and green one? Or adding some stripes to the car? Some side stickers? Not that I like any of it. Are just suggestions.
