Speedo Clocks instrument cluster issue
Fanty111 replied to Annehillskiing's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
In my opinion it would be easier to do a straight swap with the cluster, however it may be a wiring issue. I'm having an issue with my rev counter that I keep putting off but I fully intend on a swap rather than a repair -
Hi pal I have a similar issues with the seats. I believe a Seat Leon seat if similar age can be used as a straight swap. @Breezy_Petedo you have any suggestions on this at all?

Another poor signal aerial post
Fanty111 replied to MrSissons's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I ended up chucking the ariel along with the base. It's was rotten at the threads hence the poor reception I was getting. New base and new ariel and it now sounds buttery smooth! -

Mines the same. I have just ordered a new antenna base to see if it rectifies it -

Definitely not tyres. They get checked every 2 weeks I'm pretty particular about that -

@Breezy_PeteJust one thing extra. I've noticed I'm getting about 40/50 miles less out of a full tank. Could this be related at all? -

Car showing low rev. Throttle Pedal Sensor issue?
Fanty111 replied to Fanty111's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Engine is definitely not running slowly at all. Just been out in it now. Whether the fault occurs or not the engine is fine. Could it just be the instrumental cluster being faulty? -
Car showing low rev. Throttle Pedal Sensor issue?
Fanty111 replied to Fanty111's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
No lights on at all, which is why I think it may be the pedal itself especially with it still being able to get up to speed and it only trigger when I'm pulling at slow speeds. Traffic etc -
Morning guys hope you've all had a pleasant Christmas. I have noticed a niggly issue where my rev counter reads incredibly low. It seems to trigger when I am in slow moving traffic. I am not losing any power and I am fairly sure that the Throttle Pedal Sensor is just playing up. The engine doesn't seem to be labouring at all when I drive or sit idle. Am I looking in the right direction or is there something else I should be looking out for?

Yes they have worked in the past. What I have noticed is it points a little further down then the icon on the wheel if that makes sense

I have it was fuse 11 based on this guide I found when searching the fuse box with the code on the covering panel https://car-box.info/skoda/fabia/5j-2007-2015.html

I know the Mk2 are known for this. What's the best way out going around to diagnosing?
-
Evening all My wing mirrors aren't heating so I have swapped them for new ones assuming the elements have burnt but that doesn't seem to have worked. I am dubious it is the fuse as it is the same as the fuse for adjusting them and that is working fine. Can anyone shed any further light? Thanks

Update on a P0546 fault and car losing power
Fanty111 replied to Fanty111's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Interesting development this evening. To clarify for those following it has a BMS engine not BNV The car has been stagnant for a week now. I collected it from my father in laws for the 5 min journey home. I screamed its head off in 2nd gear and the it smelt awful. This was followed a large ploom of blue smoke. Still went into limp intermittently a couple times but I continued to push the revs, car continued to stink. I then had 15 minutes uninterrupted driving for the first time in a month. Tonight I'm going to push it on the motorway to see if it finally clears once and for all! -

Update on a P0546 fault and car losing power
Fanty111 replied to Fanty111's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I'm 99% certain it does have a DPF. There is a light that comes on indicating there is DPF which, hasn't come on in some time. From what I've been reading following this comment the BNV does has DPF on some models. What was curious though is that when my mechanic tried to force a regen using his snapon diagnostic it didn't give him the option. Mechanic has replaced the lambda and the egt not me -

Fanty111 replied to Fanty111's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I replaced the EGT sensor and its didn't make an iota of difference. Car is still in and out of limp mode. Genuine VW part too, not aftermarket OEM -

When you say EGT sensor do you mean the lambda sensor or is this a different component? -

Thank anyway pal I'm not convinced it's the DPF at this point. I too am going around in circles with this. I just hope this isn't a death sentence for it -

I've had 2 diffident readers in that flag the same issue. When the code is cleared and I start driving again the issue returns like its never been away
