  1. Think you need to dilute it. Concentration will be on the bottle
  2. It will defrost the car. With the car plugged in it'll do a great job of defrosting the car and warming the interior. Without the car plugged in and without the auxillary heater, it'll take the chill off the interior and it'll begin to melt any ice on the windscreen, but that's about it
  3. How far up the side does the bumper protector reach?
  4. If you order the Skoda factory extended warranty, does this imply they screw it together a bit better?
  5. The online service record isn't great. My outgoing Passat has a 40k mile gap on the online records. It also makes no mention of the multiple repairs it's had under warranty. I'm guessing they could recite the interval for a 2.0 TDI from memory, but probably need to check the system for the slightly rarer models. If the dealer isn't helpful, are there any others you can use in the area?
  6. Starting in second is pretty normal for a DSG box and nothing to be concerned about. The DQ400e does it even on engine power alone mated to the weedy 1.4. With diesel torque and the smooth action of the DSG, constant starts in first aren't really necessary It'll choose 1st if you're on a hill or if you thrash it a bit
  7. I did notice that and wondered if they were issued with the wheel! Because of the dog cage my type 2-type 2 cable lives in the back seat / footwell. I'm glad the black bag is still issued because it hides it from view as opposed to the neon yellow cables being on show
  8. I think I'm going to go for the same one!
  9. I went out and measured my existing cage this morning. The door is 9.5mm from the base so I might just get away with it! Did the charging cables come with a cloth storage bag @aerofurb?
  10. Thanks for that, it looks like I may need to buy a new dog cage when mine is delivered next month, I had hoped the one from the Passat would be a straight swap
  11. That's really helpful @aerofurb. One question about your IV now I see the photos. It looks like there is a slight drop between the boot floor and the load sill. How big is that drop? Greater than 5cm/2"?
  12. Yeah pretty much. Legally they should honour the warranty regardless of where it is serviced, but there are plenty of get-outs and for peace of mind I'd just shell out the extra few quid for the first three years
  13. I'd go main dealer over independent until your warranty expires, then independent
  14. Is it constant and rhythmic or a bit more random?
  15. If it's going off at the same time every night, I'd suggest looking into the health of your 12V battery?
  16. If you have your vehicle order number, go to the Skoda UK live chat and they'll tell you in 2 minutes where it is. If you don't have your order number, just ask your salesperson
  17. Had an update on mine today. Ordered 09 February. It's now at status 30 - travelling to port of exit
  18. Are your cooling fans cutting in when you turn on the A/C?
  19. You mean if I tow a cattle trailer at bang on 3.5t I won't be waved on my merry way when I point at my maxidot that says 750kg??
  20. How can this possibly measure weight? Interested in the technicalities of how the system works
  21. Yeah GTE/Sport charges the battery to 50%. The only thing I forgot to mention is that the whole package only makes sense if you have somewhere to plug it in overnight. If not you're paying a premium for benefits you'll never really get. ETA. Only other drawback of this platform compared to the Octavia is a combination of their size and turning circle. They're as long as a Range Rover Sport and have the turning circle of a cruise ship (11 metres approx) . It's fine mainly but you need to get comfortable with reverse parking!
  22. Skoda has sports mode which is the same as GTE mode, i.e. full power always available. Fellow Passat owner here waiting on my superb IV to finish production. In my opinion, the hybrid is best suited to the platform. You get a smooth (ish) petrol engine, silent running about town, the same torque as a golf R for when you want to get a move on and better economy than the diesels unless you're doing moon miles. When the battery is flat you are left with just the 150hp petrol engine. It's adequate and will keep up with traffic. If you're fully loaded it's a bit weak but gets the job done. You can force it to charge when on the go. This will dent your fuel economy but generally means full power is always available.
  23. Got confirmation today mine was built in week 19 (mid may) as a MY21 but is "stuck" awaiting components. No update on the date though
  24. Other changes, the Octavia VRS seems to come in an excellent new shade called hyper green
