  1. Thinking about buying one of these (here) for a 1990s-ish Goodmans GCE-536 as a secondary head unit for my 2006 Fabia since I can use it to play cassettes when I want to be listening to them in the car. Has anyone used one of these universal DIN bracket thingies on a Fabia or other model before, if so, what were your experiences like? I've included a photo of the stereo too, just for filler. Security isn't an issue since the facia is detachable and if you're going about a village with less than 2,000 people looking to steal cassette head units then ye need yer head checked. Many thanks in advance.
  2. Looks a bit like a Roomster too I think. Especially with that window design, slightly less Popemobile though.
  3. Battery earth lead/strap. Make sure it is making good contact between the battery and the body as these can get dirty causing the electronics to get the screaming heebie-jeebies and taking the huff. Mine did it with PAS, ABS, clock, and stereo problems. Hope this helps.
  4. My seats buzz to the music with the new speakers.
  5. Quite high IIRC. Aye if the mileage is good and the service history is good. Hope this helps.
  6. Very true, George. My Mum's accepted a job with AC Peugeot. We've had better experiences with AC and Park's over Ingrams in my experience, but that was quite a while ago.
  7. I think it was one of those Energy drinks. The mat doesn't seem sticky so I think we're alright.
  8. Cheers, Lee. They've got a good finish to them and seemed to absorb a spill from a mate's can of juice the other day on a day out.
  9. The moths in my wallet cry at the very thought.
  10. I want a curry hook, I got my mate to hold the McDonalds and he dropped it. Canny be trusted.
  11. Didn't the N16 Nissan Almera have a hook for hanging your Chinese takeaway up on? FOUND IT!
  12. Yes it was, a TDI diesel or a 16v petrol. Aye, there was one on CarThrottle not too long ago.
  13. I propose we make that a thing. We have a frost free freezer, in the sense that the frost doesn't cost you anything.
  14. My Mum worked with AC around 2005-2011 at their Fiat garage in Ayr. The service was pretty decent there, as it was with Toyota for our ailing Auris. She's accepted a new job with another AC branch in Ayr as well, so that's something.
  15. Do I sense a 'Non-Skoda project' thread, Evil? Your motor is looking good, @RMDavis!
  16. Yep, but wouldn't it be an expensive eff up? Hence why it's maybe better to leave it to folk with more experience.
  17. I'm enjoying it so far, just wish my uni laptop (ThinkPad X201i) and my desktop (custom, with i7-2600k at the heart) could run it without having to go to hell and back. Again, reminds me of Mac OS X Panther with the rounded shrunken windows and the likes, such as in iTunes.
  18. I'm sending this from W11 now and it feels quite Mac OS X like, at least like on my iMac G3 AIO
  19. Maybe it's just me, and a couple of other folk I've met. Some, like a lot of the public, just see it as a daily hack/tool though.
  20. I'll clean the screen, okay? We're in lads and lady lads...
  21. Hell of a wait, aye? It must be bad when I'm looking at replacement cars.
  22. Best I can afford is a CVT K11 Micra, I'll get back to you.
  23. My other thoughts are when you're watching one of those car-centric films and they rev the nuts off the car before changing gear... are we just going to hear a whine and the lack of gearchange from a CVT? Maybe I'm looking too far into this?
  24. Thanks for the tips, I'm on an OMEN 15 that I bought a year ago in January. I usually delete the old system files when upgrading, usually from W7 to W10 on custom built machines for friends and family.
