VCDS options on Superb III
Strange how the LED strip isn't RGB, with the green value appearing on the far left appearing white on the strip. There are quite a few RGB values floating around I think, but I wanted to go for an OEM feel. Once I'd got the stock values, I then mapped the 30, for both screen & strip. Currently using a teal green at the moment, but rarely drive it at night so don't get chance to appreciate the handy work!

If you use the colour values I posted above in the table, you'll find they should match the screen colour very well, feels pretty OEM too!

Echo from speakers
haha, I had the same query a few weeks back, I took my brother out in mine and we were like.. what the hell is that! I'd turned it on by accident.

Replacement Centre Caps
I’ve seen a few videos on you tube with people using windscreen mobile phone mounts, the ones with the suction cups that you clamp into place. Seems a lot less risky than prizing them out, and certainly less labour intensive than taking the wheels off!

Broken Door Mirror Indicator Telltail...
There seems to be several variations on aliexpress, but I guess any are a bit of a gamble until they arrive.

Broken Door Mirror Indicator Telltail...
Ahh that's super annoying. I'll be following this thread with interest, as my passenger side whilst still attached to the mirror, it is broken and wobbles around a bit, so definitely a design flaw!

What have you done to your Superb III today?
This stuff is amazing. I sold both mine & my wife's car privately before purchasing my Superb, she had an old Peugeot 107, which are notoriously bad for corroding contacts, due to water ingress through many poor seals. I was on the cusp of someone coming to view the car, when the indicator stalk developed a known issue due to corroded contacts in the mechanism. A couple of blasts with this stuff, and a wiggle of the stalk and the issue seemed to be resolved. I'll keep the can to one side for now, incase my stop/start develops a similar issue to DBT85, unless of course, they're right in that the switch needs dismantling to clean, due to silicone covers etc.

Replacement Centre Caps
Thanks @UndertheRadar Its a fair point, chrome & salt don't really mix! I've only got the one set of wheels, but hope to maintain my cleaning regime through the winter months, so I'll take a punt and grab a set. I'm assuming as my car is an ex-fleet car, it still has the original centres on. Its covered just over 4k and 3.5 years old so they've not faired too badly.

Replacement Centre Caps
Has anyone replaced their center caps on their wheels? I've not long had my L&K, and in the interest of keeping it looking tidy, I'm looking to replace the centre caps, as the chrome has started to come away on the edge of the caps. A quick google presents me with links to eBay listings, but I'm conscious the mantra "buy cheap, buy twice" at £8.49 on the link below, I have my suspicions on how long they'll stay looking fresh. 4x 56mm Alloy Wheel for Skodas Wheel Centre Octavia Caps VRS. | eBay Question for the community is, can anyone recommend anywhere to source x4 replacement caps, as well as part numbers?

Ambient light - 30 colors activation
Sorry to bump and old thread, but see here, I've mapped 30 colours (for screen & ambilight) using the OEM colours as a starting point. The RGB scale is indeed different on the ambient light, than the screen. Please see my post below in the Superb III forum, the post contains the values you need.

VCDS options on Superb III
This thread is turned into a bit of a Behemoth, but it does appear there are some tried and tested VCDS changes that aren't captured in the 'Superb MKIII VCDS Adaptations - tried and tested - Diagnostics & VCDS - BRISKODA' thread which is locked. Not sure if @Gizmo is still actively moderating, as I'm pretty new here, but might be worth capturing some of the mods in this and updating the tried and test thread, as it was last updated November '19?

MY17 Superb SLA Headlights Upgrade - Help
@Woodpeckercz it doesn’t have LED DRL or whiskers due to trim level. At least in the UK & Ireland I believe the ‘whiskers’ originally only came in the L&K models?

VCDS options on Superb III
I'm aware the mod for 30 colour pallet in the ambient lighting screen has been mentioned several times on the forum. TLDR: The RGB values used on available in the table at the bottom on my post. There was some rough guidance on RGB values, but I wanted to aim for an OEM+ look. I've taken some time build a colour pallet of 30 colours based on the original 10 that come as standard. Rather than attempting to join up the dots by looking at raw RGB values, I've built a gradient for the 10 RGB values from the originals. I then referenced 30 colours from the gradient and noted down the values. Below is the original screen values, the gradient, and the 30 colours picked out. The ambient lighting strip uses different colours values to the screen values, interesting though, the white value from the ambient light strip is actually a light green, but appears white on the strip. The original pallet prior to coding: The 30 colour pallet after coding. A massive thanks for @Ivan8192 for helping with the script, and allowing access to his VCDS again! and to @SashaGracefor piquing my interest into this mod. For anyone interested the RGB values are available below: Screen Ambient Strip Basic Colour Red Green Blue Basic Colour Red Green Blue White 217 221 233 White 120 231 71 229 205 161 163 221 49 241 190 88 205 211 26 Yellow 253 174 16 Yellow 247 202 4 254 155 18 234 167 2 254 135 34 208 128 3 Orange 253 115 50 Orange 183 89 5 251 85 52 189 60 5 247 51 47 215 40 4 Red 244 18 43 Red 241 20 3 244 19 73 255 27 17 247 59 142 255 65 49 Lilac 251 100 212 Lilac 255 105 82 232 109 243 244 134 112 197 98 247 196 136 136 Magenta 163 86 251 Magenta 149 138 160 129 77 255 104 139 183 87 85 255 70 130 207 Blue 45 93 255 Blue 37 121 229 5 101 255 4 111 251 0 127 255 8 142 226 Cyan 1 156 255 Cyan 17 179 194 1 184 255 26 215 162 1 194 214 35 229 120 Green 0 197 157 Green 45 236 73 0 200 99 54 242 27 30 210 70 58 228 3 Lemon 88 227 65 Lemon 58 196 2 145 244 60 57 163 1 182 255 57 57 132 0

VCDS Coding Query - Which multi-function module? '67 Plate
Looking forward to having it added to mine later! For reference here it is as standard, the modified version above I’d consider to look OEM+ as it follows the same colours, just with more choice!

Key fob replacement
Haha, no offence taken here. My original key was scratched/marred when I picked it up, as the car had done 40k, and was an ex-lease. So I'm not overly concerned about it being scratched. I like the look, feel and weight of the metal key, and mine only came with one like that. The other 2 keys were in the standard plastic. For the cost of just over a fiver, I decided I'd take a punt to see if could add the same metal trim to my wives key, which I've been able to do successfully.

Key fob replacement
No problem, if its any consolation, I only used a hair dryer (not a heat gun) so not too hot, and for prizing, a used the smallest of drivers, so wasn't able to apply much pivotal force.
-
Key fob replacement
I used a small torx screwdriver to undo the screw at the bottom, in terms of the top, I was 'upgrading' a secondary key (my wifes) from plastic to metal. So was swapping the plastic parts from the genuine key, and adding the metal parts from the donor key. I'd imagine prizing off the top part of the key would be a lot easier when its metal, as you don't risk stressing the plastic.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Interesting, I'm assuming this throws no errors?
-
Key fob replacement
On the original plastic cover you're removing, I found if you heat it gently with a hair dryer, and gently prize it comes apart without stressing the plastic. I'd even suggest using a plastic prize tool instead of a metal driver to further reduce the risk. I guess it all depends on how precious you are of the original plastic elements that you're replacing. The integral part of the key doesn't risk damage, just the plastic hood that you're replacing.

Key fob replacement
Never mind, whilst it is bonded, a bit of prising with a flat head screwdriver soon released it. Just need to heat up the small Skoda badge to transfer it.

Key fob replacement
Mine arrived today, but the top part of the original key I cannot figure out how to remove, it appears bonded to the core part of the key, either that or how do you retrieve the electronic part of the key?

VCDS Coding Query - Which multi-function module? '67 Plate
Thanks again @SashaGrace, a local member has been able to create a script to implement these changes, similarly to what @langers2k was able to do. @Ivan8192 kindly provided me with the 10 original values, I pulled the values into Illustrator and built a gradient from them, I then took a sample at incremental points to create the 30 colours. I understand there are different colour values for the ambient light and the screen, hence the two gradients. I'm waiting to hear on how Ivan gets on testing on his car to see how they look but hopefully they offer a wide spectrum of colours, that are balanced. Will post back once I hear back.
