  1. Theres many more questions i asked to get an understanding of the issue, fault codes and such? Where was this sensor located? any dash faults? And im even more confused now as the superb mk3 does not have an 'aperture' for the radar, it is done through the grille and it is fully hidden behind it so we are gonna need a lot more information than whats been suppled
  2. Are you sure this is a superb you have, dash isnt correct for a mk3 If you did have this basic radio in a superb it is a major job to upgrade to the newer radios requiring a lot of specialised skill and coding, not least, the software required.
  3. Solid front grille is normal on these, the sensor lives behind it. What is this radar sensor plug you are talking about and where did you find it. You cant just start the procedure, the car needs to be set up with the correct calibration target and really ODIS is needed. Chances are component protection is enabled so cant be done till this is removed. Have you got any warning lights, fault codes or dash messages.
  4. Its not an octavia, its just a generic looking car. Cant be changed at all.
  5. The run time is 30 minutes for rest. It will turn off sooner if the battery voltage drops below a set level
  6. We have a lot of these 280s on 100k or so miles and they all seem to be going well so far. driven extremely hard and still don’t have issues
  7. A blind spot glass is around £400 so would be a weird one to replace it with
  8. if this is the case then theyve put the wrong glass on your car and it shouldnt have any symbol.
  9. As much as you’d think they are just a map difference, from what I’ve read the difference is 1 has 4 direct injectors and the other has 4 direct injectors + 4 manifold injectors may be wrong though. on the subject of this car, it baffles me to pay £40,500 for a car in a bog standard ****ty silver, if it’s such a standing out car, why wouldn’t you order a colour to match. reminds me of a old Vauxhall zafira colour 😂😂
  10. Go back to the dealer, there is a known technical service bulletin relating to the trims touching, and either coming loose or falling out all together. They might do it for you as good will/warranty
  11. Wet clutch simply means the clutch packs are submerged in oil to prevent overheating and allow additional torque
  12. Bit of a hard question to answer when everything from fuel, tyres, weather, road, weight all play a difference in these figures
  13. It is no where near that simple sadly. requires screen, cable and the control unit in the glovebox. And that’s just for parts, after that it needs specialist coding by a retrofitter with ODIS and security access to enable the new unit. you’re looking at roughly £900-1000 for it to be done.
  14. pdc front buzzer is on top of front fuse box behind glovebox on rhd car.
  15. Sadly this is the way it operates and theres no way around it, people have tried for a while. I wish my Waze maps showed up in my virtual cockpit.
  16. 1. privacy glass is not on every model no 2. Electric drivers seat is standard, passenger seat electrics was an optional extra 3. The radio came in many options depending, the newest is the MIB2.5 with 9.2’ screen with buttons on the left only followed by the 8 inch touch screen with buttons left and right MIB2.0 and after that is the smaller screens with basic functions.
  17. You're not the only one dont worry. We get most of our Superb's coming in at work with "rear interior lights stuck on" meaning someone has pressed the button on the front panel and not realized it.
  18. Module 17 - Long coding - theres a byte for it if i remember correctly
  19. The heater controls/display it uses a different button and firmware for heated steering wheel
  20. DSG boxes are under a huge amount of pressure and heat so it breaks the oil down. A manual gearbox is not under nearly as much pressure and is simply 'sloshed' around the gearbox and between the gears so doesnt wear nearly as fast. That being said id say 100k is a fair life for manual transmission fluid
  21. Id be interested to know where people get these ideas from... A DSG works by in its natural state there is no clutch engagement - this is when youre in P, N, E, not moving, foot on brake stopped, start/stop and all of the above When you then start moving pressure is applied to activate a relatively 'huge' amount of clutch plates to enable movement. You are not wearing anything out by leaving it in D/R Its not like an old peugeot 107 where the gearbox is a manual gearbox with an electronic motor to do the clutch and gear changes (which can burn clutches out). Its completely different.
  22. It can be done. New looms. New steering wheel control unit, new heater display, and some lovely coding
  23. Pop the cover off, change the battery, test to make sure it works. All done. Should be a 2032 battery.
  24. Look just above this post, and I’ve posted a link. I don’t have a diesel anymore so can’t check anything on my own car. but a master tech of 7 years, I promise you they are used a lot more than cold starting
