keyfob battery failing with *no* warning
My Karoq 1.5 SEL 2021 with Kessey takes a CR2032 battery which is slightly thicker than the CR2025 battery, are you sure that you are using the right one as I understand the vehicles with Kessey use the thicker one.

Breakdown cover
My local Skoda dealer offers 12months complimentary roadside assistance with every service, the local Ford and Vauxhall dealers do as well check your main dealer to see if they do.

MIB3 Map Updates - again!
You would think that any Service personnel would monitor a couple of the forums for the company they represent (in this case Skoda), if they did that they might have more of an idea when customers come in with complaints.

MIB3 Map Updates - again!
Went to my dealer on Monday with the Unable to update maps OTA problem, was met with the same confusion and bewilderment as to how I had access to TPI, and was told I shouldn't be able to have it, showed the guy the Erwin Skoda site etc and he just couldn't believe it, anyhow the car was booked in Wednesday, and the update to 0304 done. This morning went out in car maps still on 21/5 drove to supermarket (12 miles) and suddenly the dreaded emergency sos warning came on, have not had it before but have had headlight wrong side warning, Parked up at supermarket and rebooted Infotainment system, turn ignition off, did shopping restarted car all OK, maps now at 22/3. will have to see what happens next, hopefully just a one off, just like the headlight wrong side 10 months ago.

Leaving the bonnet unlatched for a while, can it be done without issues?
If your battery charger is 35 years old it may not be suitable for charging your battery which is probably an EFB or AGM battery, these are the ones that are normally fitted to cars with Start/Stop systems, your best bet is buying a decent charger suitable for the battery you have got and then leaving it on charge by feeing the cables through the bonnet as stated above.

MIB3 Map Updates - again!
My Dec 20 built Karoq was registered end of April 20 and purchased by me 14th May 21, the software is 0270, and the maps when I bought it were 20-11, it updated OTA in June last year to 21-5, no map updates since then, Must say that I'm not all that impressed with the maps anyway as it shows a Texaco fuel station by me that was demolished over 10 years ago and a Lidl built on the site. I shall have to go to the dealers and see about the software upgrade to 0276 as I have had no luck doing the map updates via the usb port.

Chrome trim peeling on drivers side rear fixed window
I agree try your local bodyshop or windscreen fitters (eg Autoglass) they use adhesive for bonding screens in all the time, also a replacement window if fitted would not necessarily come with the trim attached.

Skoda Karoq First Impressions
You're dead right! I'd just sussed it out when I came back in and saw your post. I noticed it was illuminated when I went out this morning and somehow had it in my had that when illuminated it was off. A real Doh! moment, the joys of new cars and technology, many thanks.

Many thanks to all who have responded, but I have now hit my first problem, the Auto Hold appears to have stopped working, it was working the day before yesterday, any ideas' is there a fuse for this? the parking brake works OK. Have I inadvertently changed some setting maybe? TIA

Skoda Karoq First Impressions
Hi, I've just bought a pre reg Skoda Karoq SE-L 1.5 Manual in Quartz Grey with 10 miles on the clock from Mitchell Skoda, and thought I'd give you my first impressions after owning it for 5 days. First the Dealers where very helpful when selling the car, reasonably good part ex price, unaccompanied test drive, 3/4 tank of petrol, bunch of flowers for the missus, car prepared OK. How they will be for servicing and repairs I'll have to wait and see. The car drives very smooth and quiet. The infotainment system is a bit of a mishmash but basically it's OK. Updating the maps over the air is a bit meh, but my previous 2 cars where Fords and their Sync mapping system updating is very hit and miss although you do it with a USB pen after downloading form the Ford site, it is just the updates are very irregular, I will miss the speed camera warning as I think this is not available on the Skoda. The car itself is MY202, build date 03-12 2020, and is fitted with 18" Braga wheels, not he 19" Crater wheels (suits me) also the car came with a 18" space saver spare wheel ( far better than a tyre inflation kit) Mitchells Skoda had about 5 pre reg Karoq in all with around £4000 discount off brochure prices, most fitted with 19" Crater wheels so there must be a lot hanging around in Skoda UK's parking lot. Lastly has any bought any parts accessories etc from Superskoda now that we have left the EU, do they get held up in HM Customs and do you have to pay duty on them? Dave
