Burning Oil
That's so insane. 30K for a turbo petrol is crazy. 12 months 15k already seems extremely long. Glad I ordered a new car, if that's how the recent 5 year old ones have been serviced, I don't want to touch them. 😅

Front/rear speakers diameter for Octavia mk IV
It should be the exact same as the Golf, 168 mm woofers stock, but who knows what kind of aftermarket ones might fit, because they have different mountings and bigger magnets usually.
-
Graphite Grey
I also ordered a VRS TSI Quartz Grey in May. This thread made me ask my dealer what's going on with the colour and he did confirm that by now my car is switched to Graphite Grey by default, but I can request other colours.

Disable headlight washers?
It was only a rule for Xenons, because their beam can get distorted by dirt and blind people.

Burning Oil
So your car probably burns on the lower end of the spectrum. If you change your oil at 30k intervals it probably becomes a sludge and glues everything shut.
-
Burning Oil
All modern cars burn oil, it's how they're designed. Piston rings are low pressure to reduce friction and the oil is very thin so the engine uses less fuel. You trade trace amounts of oil for lots of fuel.

What tyres did you get?
Wheel caps are center caps, they are probably mentioned separately, because you can buy them separately to replace broken/lost ones.
-
What tyres did you get?
Superb and Octavia have different wheels, different offset and width.
-
What tyres did you get?
Centre cap is the one with the Å koda badge.

What tyres did you get?
Where did you hear that you can take it off? It looks like solid metal wheel.

Delivery times?
Here is fine, your car is fresh so everyone waiting/checking will get similar versions I would imagine.
-
Delivery times?
Did you check software/hardware versions yet? That's the most interesting part to me in fresh models.

Mountain bike
Yes there is. But it's combi only and it might not available in the UK. https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/press-kits/skoda-octavia-press-kit-2/simply-clever-new-features-for-skodas-bestseller/ And of course the iV has a flat floor already, because there is no room.
-
Mountain bike
iV comes with a raised floor, same as flat boot floor option on a normal car and it also has no space for a spare wheel. Manufacturers count boot space even below the covering so iV loses quite a bit.

Skoda Octavia IV pictures thread
Exactly, the one on the showroom probably hasn't been through a full delivery inspection and they didn't remove the suspension blocks so it looks lifted.
-
Skoda Octavia IV pictures thread
RS models, at least petrol ones come with transportation blocks/pucks inserted into the suspension to raise the car and make the suspension stiff for shipping, they might put those in the back for IV models because they're rear heavy and you get that extra high suspension look.

Skoda Octavia IV pictures thread
That's an RS model and the transportation blocks haven't been removed. IV model looks like a normal Octavia, 15mm is not a huge difference.

USB C charging
USB ports always have 5V in them. The newer fast charging technology negotiates higher voltages only after you plug something in. You can take USB pins 1+4 and use it as a normal 5V source, charger or usb port, they can't tell. I know, I've done it, many times. (USB C has more pins with power, but it's still there all the time)
-
USB C charging
It sounds extremely unlikely, because USB power is the same no matter where you use it. I doubt a camera is using more than 0.5A.

Wait Before and after starting the engine
If you're not trashing the car on the track there is really no reason to wait before turning it off, it will be around the same temperature if you wait or not. And on startup warming up the engine is really outdated advice, these days the engine oil is incredibly thin and it gets everywhere with ease, just drive like a normal person and there is no reason to idle. Of course there are times where you can't drive the car before it warms up because of ice or fogged up windows, idling isn't going to do any damage either, just uses fuel unnecessarily.

Delivery times?
Well I can't say anything about the Kona, it's a smaller model so I wasn't looking into it. Also maybe their hybrid system works better than just petrol+DCT combo. I agree on the infotainment and climate though. If Octavia didn't have wireless android auto it would be a disaster, now it was just mildly annoying.
-
Delivery times?
Hyundai/Kia had less problems with shortages, but I wouldn't compare them to Å koda in terms of car quality. Test drove a Sportage and the DCT logic was so bad it felt like the clutch kept slipping on a brand new car, not to mention jerky starts. Interior also looks 10 years old. Maybe the new 2022 Sportage or Tucson would be better in terms of interior, but with the amounts of gloss black I wouldn't bet on it. It depends on what you want/need. If I wanted a plug-in hybrid I would actually go for a Tiguan at the moment. It's an older VAG model so it doesn't have the new Golf/Octavia/Leon problems and it's a best seller for a reason.

Skoda Connect ?'s. before I order the car.
Dunno why it still says that Android auto isn't wireless, on new models it should be wireless. Remote access is an app to use functions from outside the car and online infotainment is online radio. I think satnav will work, but without traffic updates and stuff like that. Not a 100% on that.

Delivery times?
The article that was posted confirms it pretty much. They are building full speed at the moment, it's just that there are cars backed up waiting for chips.
-
Delivery times?
It's not just Octavia. Every car is a **** show. My parents ordered a Tiguan, dealer said 2 months, 2 months later they said sorry maybe 2 more months, maybe more.
