  1. I'm guessing, but I think they are accepting orders, but only putting the ones they have parts for in the actual queue. So if you order something that's not currently available it's going to sit there. That's why so many people don't have a date anymore.
  2. Or some people simply don't want to add another chore to their life and I know I personally have never thought "man this cars clearcoat has swirls from a car wash".
  3. Yeah, but for those tools we have electric shavers, lawn mowers, robot vacuums and we also have automatic car washes for cars. So you can just use that.
  4. Different platforms. New Octavia and Golf and Leon and all the electric models have the new infotainment, because they're all on the new platform. Older platforms have a different infotainment.
  5. Looks like they just forgot to reconfirm all the options you had before.
  6. It's not bad, but it's never going to touch Waze or Google maps. Those apps are more advanced, have more reliable traffic info, because of a lot of users and you can put in a destination on your phone or even computer and just click go in the car.
  7. Then it's still easier and still cheaper to get one to use in the car only.
  8. I don't understand why anyone orders navigation on cars that come with android auto/apple carplay. Makes no sense.
  9. Guess you'll know which dealer not to trust. I ordered an RS at the beginning of May and my dealer said 5-6 months minimum, now he said it's still unknown 4 months later if that's going to happen.
  10. The thing is, with modern cars unlocking the car isn't what's stopping thieves. If they plan to steal the car kessy or no kessy it's pretty much irrelevant.
  11. So everything you want could just be solved by using Google Maps and not even bothering with built in sat nav.
  12. Size is correct and Octavia has indirect TPMS.
  13. All of those seem like they're intended to return to defaults. Not saying they should, but doesn't seem like a bug. Except for navigation.
  14. No, they are getting worse at the moment. There was talk about things improving by the end of the year, but at the moment it seems that everything stopped completely. Everyone is having their delivery dates pushed, some people don't even get a clear delivery date anymore.
  15. There is 1803 and 1806, but I don't know which hardware revisions get which versions, it's all over the place.
  16. No it hasn't. Superb had Business Grey and Quartz Grey which are both different colour codes. The actual cars that got Graphite Grey before Octavia are the new facelifted Kodiaq and Fabia. https://www.skoda-auto.com/models/range/kodiaq
  17. Pretty sure VW makes their own lithium pouches. https://www.automotivemanufacturingsolutions.com/volkswagen/skoda-starts-battery-production-for-vw-group/39078.article But they can still catch fire. Every lithium battery can catch fire. https://insideevs.com/news/527874/volkswagen-id3-netherlands-fire-charging/
  18. Depends, if you're not going to keep the car then I would get it. If you do plan to keep it or modify the car I would avoid it very much.
  19. If it was me I would extend the tyre inflator wire and make an extension cord from the boot to the front instead of butchering the center console. But I'm weird like that.
  20. I placed my order of a vRS TSI in Lithuania at the beginning of May and the dealer said 5-6 months so that would put it somewhere at the end of October, but I just spoke to him recently and he pretty much said he can't promise anything anymore. I think the most recent chip factory fire destroyed all hope for VAG to fill their backlog of orders.
  21. New Toyota hybrids use 0w16 oil. But they're not turbocharged.
  22. GR Yaris is not really representative of an average Toyota...
  23. Indeed, because if you check Toyota for example, their service intervals are normal, on top of the fact that they don't make high stress turbo charged engines. Somehow believing that VW invented new engine materials that allows them to use the same oil for 5-6 times longer than what was normal 10-15 years ago is ridiculous.
  24. Even if it was design faults it doesn't make sense logically to stretch service intervals that far, it only appeals to people leasing, they don't have to spend money replacing fluids and VW doesn't care, because warranty period is short enough most of the engines could probably get through the finish line without a single oil change. It's neglect that has a stamp of approval from the manufacturer. Very similar story is happening in other cars, for example BMW says their ZF gearboxes don't need oil changes at all, while ZF says they do. But only after BMW warranty period has already expired, so BMW doesn't care.
  25. Don't know about millions of them, I'm from a country that does a lot with used cars and VW 1.4/1.5 TSI engines are pretty much regarded as 250K and done, no one touches them beyond that. 2.0 TSI ones can be rebuilt, because they're worth more, but it is still very expensive.
