Delivery times?
Didn't they already say that new iV orders are coming in 2023 like at the earliest? Or was that someone just speculating.

Can high beam assist be retro fitted to my 2021 Octavia SEL with front camera?
Superb definitely has wired and facelift models should have wireless I think. Not a 100% sure though.

Yes it does. Only the very first cars didn't have it, but they're now receiving updates which enable it again. (but the most recent firmware breaks wireless android again for some users π€£)

That's so weird, it's hard to believe they make different cameras. Maybe it's only the first edition things, like how wireless android didn't work at first.

Delivery times?
That's not how it works. Only new models coming out after that date will need it. Octavia counts as an old model so it won't need to have the system.

Delivery times?
People cancel all the time. But it makes no sense to cancel now, unless you can get a different car and you need it now.

Skoda Connect app & web π€¦
The app is indeed a bit of a disaster, wouldn't pay for it myself. π€£

Rear Undercarriage
In theory Octavia is already more aerodynamic than the Golf so it doesn't really need the extra. The additional weight and increased complexity (considering how many different rear ends Octavia has: RS petrol with dual exhausts and independent suspension, 4x4 diesel and petrol version with a single exhaust and a torsion bar) vs improved aerodynamics it's probably not worth the cost of engineering the rear covering. I imagine it's much simpler to do on a Passat and Superb since they have more similar rear suspension between models and also the cost if less important since the car is more expensive overall.

All Season Tyres - Option
Configurator is broken all the time. I wouldn't rely on it. Dealers order by specific option numbers from the pricelists, if there is no conflict on the price list it can be done.

Latest software update
Same, I only had issues with android auto, but I assume that's just android auto being buggy, it's not exactly known for being rock solid. Also one app acts dumb. I use Replaio for online radio, it works perfectly fine if you open the app after the car is powered on, but if you leave the app open and start the car again it starts in low volume, the only fix is to go into another music app and back. So now I just stopped leaving it open, using Spotify or just FM radio instead.

Roof bars - what do you have?
Yeah I guess, they are pretty expensive now that I look at it, but for me roof bars are all ugly so I wouldn't have them on unless there is something on them. π€£

Roof bars - what do you have?
Why aren't you interested in OEM bars? They are probably made by the same companies you're picking from. It's not like Skoda makes roof bars.

Latest software update
Newest Skoda software with the new hardware is 1889. Mine has it. Older hardware is supposed to be receiving the big update sometime in March according to rumors, but nothing is confirmed.

Delivery times?
That's exactly what I would expect. 8 on a highway, 10 in the city. 12 seems like a traffic jam situation.
-
Delivery times?
Okay that's definitely rough.
-
Delivery times?
Mine is on 8.7l/100km average, but it's brand new, not even run in yet. You have to either be hammering it or sitting in traffic quite a bit.

Full Matrix Headlights
The early models had all kinds of issues, one of them was the alignment and programming of the matrix lights, but they fixed them pretty early in the production. I haven't seen many new complaints lately. Mine work perfectly too.
-
Delivery times?
From what I find it's around 9l/100km, that's not so bad?
-
Full Matrix Headlights
Obviously they don't work well on divided roads, that's why the manual warns you to not use the function in that case. People are just being idiots if they use them on highways.

Forward / rear view mirror continous power?
Yep, I bought Viofo A129 plus for Lithuanian winters. Capacitor cameras ftw.

You people baffle meβ¦ π
That is like half of the threads, people just assume things, don't do enough research and then find out it doesn't actually fit what they want. I think this is mostly because a lot of people who get new cars are leasing them for a few years at most, so they can't be bothered to actually invest time into researching and just go with it.
-
Forward / rear view mirror continous power?
You can go with the middle ground, there are motion activated cameras with batteries. However in Finland they might not survive the winter.
-
Forward / rear view mirror continous power?
The hard part with constant power is saving your battery from dying, if you want a webcam to have constant power the important part of the hard wiring kit is the cut-off switch, not the actual constant power.
-
Forward / rear view mirror continous power?
Why would you bother even trying? Just take a separate supply for whatever you want to power.
