  1. I think we may be looking at this from different angles? I never indicated or implied that I did not wish to make use of the 2 services. All I was asking was about amending the service intervals. My paperwork simply says 1 oil service and 1 inspection service and makes no mention of having to be used within a 2 year period or being tied to fixed or variable intervals, hence my question. I contacted my dealer earlier today and they have now also confirmed there is no restriction on my servicing package and I can change the interval to variable at the time the 1st service is carried out, so I now plan to have the car serviced at year 1/fixed mileage and the second service whenever it is deemed due and therefore still benefitting from both services. Perhaps there are other service packages that have restrictions on but unless i am told otherwise or someone can point me to the t&c’s for the pcp service package hopefully I have understood my situation correctly. website says “2Service plan covers first 2 consecutive services limited to 1 x Oil Service and 1 x Oil and Inspection Service with pollen filter.” -perhaps they should clarify the word “consecutive” as that could mean different things depending on which service plan each vehicle is on?
  2. It is on a 4 year pcp, bought new in Jun 21 and currently done 5k so has not been serviced hence wondering if it can be changed to variable mid interval? Will prob do approx 12k a year. On my previous new VAG cars, they were supplied with the default variable servicing but I got the Karoq at very short notice and simply forgot to confirm what interval it was on. Will have a word with the dealer to see how I stand
  3. Couple of questions. 1. I have pcp finance service deal which simply says it covers 1 oil service and 1 inspection service. My Karoq is set to fixed intervals ( I did not ask for this and thought the default was variable intervals?) but think I may now be better changing to variable servicing as we only have the one car now, likely to due 10k + miles and our journey types now do not consist of too many town type commutes. Can I change/reset intervals to variable myself or is it a dealer reset and do I have to tell dealer/finance company. ? Also will it reset to variable from now or is it clever enough to recognise I am part way though interval mileage wise and just calculate the correct variable interval? 2. On Amundsen sat nav, can I choose “main roads route” as default and if so how as I don’t like being routed round all the country lanes even it may be slightly quicker!
  4. Read this thread with interest? Am I right thinking that if the my Skoda app is set up for remote unlocking, that is one way out of this predicament!
  5. I also accidentally found something similar in mine although it looks a different colour so may be for something else? I was advised mine was for "It is used by the factory to measure moisture in the car. Just tuck them under the trim - they are redundant."
  6. i did try to find this info on google before posting - good job there are knowledgeable people like you are about !
  7. I will also try the above to test. All I could find via Skoda was the below which only mentions it is available on the Scala & Kamiq - seems odd to only mention those models?? ŠKODA SCALA and KAMIQ further refined The engines fitted in the successful SCALA and KAMIQ compact models will also be converted to the Euro 6d standard for the 2021 model year, and subtle details will provide the finishing touches to the cars. The optional silver-coloured 17-inch Propus alloys are new, as is the Simply Clever multifunction storage pocket underneath the boot cover for stowing, for example, a coat. In the optional KESSY keyless vehicle entry system, the transmitter signal now deactivates if the key has not been moved for five minutes, instead of the previous 15 minutes

I found this on my new Karoq - however it is now resolved so the step below may help? try using the configuration wizard again - I was then able to change from/to 12/24 h - you can then exit the wizard so there is no need to amend other settings
  9. Thanks for the offer. Although I have not updated the post, I’ve now bought one from driveden https://www.driveden.com/product/novline-tailored-black-boot-liner-to-fit-skoda-karoq-2017-2021-with-varioflex-system-260
  10. Bristo’s Skoda. - they are my local dealer too but I ended up with Vindis Bury St Ed’s as they sourced a stock car very quickly . Always try to use local dealer for everything else though!
  11. Partly experimenting! I’m trying to work out whether the eSIM gives you access to all connect services? I’ve been told apparently there is things like News and weather et cetera but I can’t see how to get access to that or even if it’s available, so just thought I would try a Wi-Fi dongle as an alternative?

Doorsill scuff plates fitted from ali express - look good but not sure about durability!
  13. Been tinkering with my wifi dongle but not really sure I understand anymore! When my wifi dongle is connected (at least the wifi symbol is lit so I assume it is connected) nothing really seems to change connect wise, other than a message comes up saying integrated esim is disconnected when wifi is in use - the green sos light remains lit regardless - perhaps because the esim has several independent functions? web radio still does not seem to work when using wifi - says "unavailable" and I get an infotainment message saying media streaming unavailable and I get a little "1" notification at top of infotainment screen that will not delete. As soon as I disconnect the wifi dongle, it says the integrated esim will reconnect and the "1" notification disappears. So, really don't know what/if a dedicated data plan offers anything different compared with integrated esim!
  14. Thanks. I’ve now edited the original post to remove q1 as I realise how obvious it is now you’ve made it clear to me!
  15. 1. I am considering purchasing the Skoda double sided boot mat thing but the accessories brochure indicates it is only as part of a pack and it is for fixed seats, but is there a varioflex version and can it be bought as a standalone item? They also list a more expensive plastic boot dish but it doesn't say whether it is varioflex compatible or not - anyone has any thoughts who has either of these and are there better or cheaper variations online? Finally, they also show a boot liner as part of the pet protection pack - not sure if this is one of the two mentioned above or a different one and is that also available as a standalone item! Advice appreciated Cheers
  16. Many thanks. I’m sure I’ll get to grips with it, it’s just that it works a bit different to how my golf GTi connect operated
  17. Many thanks for the clarification. I think my main issue was should I have access via a connect logo on the infotainment screen or does it all happening behind-the-scenes remotely and is only accessible via a remote/phone app?
  18. I’ve just activated the my Skoda app today and apart from the remote locking unlocking (which I am waiting for dealer to activate) all seems good and all the many listed services are shown as activated under “users privacy and services” on infotainment. I am still confused though - should I have a connect logo on the infotainment to access these services or does it all happen behind the scenes or am I being impatient as it has not been fully activated by dealer as yet? . Also still trying to understand if the connect services are provided by the integrated esim (for 1st year??) or to access them can/do I have to use my iPhone data plan via its personal hotspot? I also have a “3” network WiFi dongle I used to use in my golf for online traffic etc - would that work as an alternative to iPhone hotspot if needed?
  19. I have also just done this. Bought 100mm s hooks and craft magnets from the range. I found that the fitted bungee cords are so tight they cut into the front seat back/headrest when used. This way it is still tight but not quite so tight - even then I plan to use a cloth or similar to prevent marking/creasing between the s hook /bungee and front seat back/headrest
  20. Don’t know that model? Are you uk based ? Is that a uk model ?
  21. As you mention acc, I assume you have adaptive cruise? Can you add which model you have to your signature ( via profile) as this helps fellow forum users? I don’t have acc though so don’t know the answer!
  22. that's fine, 4x4's don't need washing
  23. Now looking all clean and shiny! my initial thoughts after a weeks ownership have always had red cars in recent years. Must say business grey does seems to clean up/dry nicely with a little sparkle/fleck to it so I think it will reasonably easy to keep it looking good? Black plastic rear bumper looks like it may scuff up with time (I suspect plastic side lower door panels won’t be so bad). - what are people using to clean/protect the plastic panels? Can’t remember the last time if at all I had a car with plastic bumpers? Is the front face of the 18” bragas diamond cut? If not, it is very similarly to that finish and seems a slightly different finish to the rest of the alloy? I think they look great but are quite fiddly to clean so have protected them with Collinite 845 wax nice to see when opening the doors that the sills are more or less spotless - I have still ordered door sill scuff plates from Ali express though 😀 I can just about reach the middle of the roof panel to clean it without a step ladder! Have also got to grips with the varioflex seats - have also done the s hooks and magnet mod to help tether the rears seats to the front headrest tubes when when folded forward

We have had years of practice so no issues! We have another parking area to use if need be as well
