2021 Mark IV Octavia Combi Style TD85/2.0 M6F poor performance in 6th gear when cold
I assume you mean 1600rpm! 1600 is a bit low to need to change up.

Did you lift off mid corner?

Great on the motorway…
I don’t normally break the speed limit but I was going 70mph and up to 85 where possible. Motorway was pretty dead though. I did have to do a 20 mile detour as a junction on the M42 was closed and the journey was 5 miles before the motorway and 15 off at the end where I had saved some electric. I have the plug in hybrid, 205bhp model (1.4 turbo petrol engine and electric motor). Not much chance for regen at motorway speeds unfortunately. 62.5mph average!! If I had stuck at 65mph I can do 55mpg easily on a long motorway journey, just depends on the inclines.

I knew someone would chime in with a whinge about the software. Worked perfectly like a lot of peoples cars do. It’s not everyone who has an issue.

Great on the motorway…
Travelled back home from hols on Friday and did 250 miles without stopping (needed to be home quickly) in 4 hours exactly. Radar cruise control worked a dream, seats super comfy in my SEL version and it was quiet and fast and relaxing. My Octavia doesn’t handle as well as my previous Focus but on the journey I did it was excellent. 48.7mpg in total from my iV which wasn’t bad considering the limited use of the battery on a very long trip like that and the very high average speed.

Skoda Octavia mk4 Digital Instrument Display
haha - sounds like the OP has never managed to reach the giddy heights of 2000rpm…

Delivery times?
Well whatcha going to do? Continuing to complain and badmouth Skoda and their dealers doesn’t seem to work for anyone. Maybe just accepting it and waiting patiently is the next step. 😂😂

Tested and working coding Octavia mk4
The problem with these sorts of threads is that the people giving the info seem to assume a certain level of knowledge of coding and using OBD11. I would like to buy a unit and do my own coding but there doesn’t seem to be any step by step guide to help the novice. I’m pretty good with technology but I’m still nervous of buying a OBD11 unit and not being confident in using it. Not even the OBD11 website is easy to follow! I think part of the issue is that a list of posters are not natural English speakers so the translation can sometimes complicate things!

Delivery times?
Maybe their car was the last one they had the parts for a particular option and they ran out for yours.

Oil sensor ??
Maybe the oil sensor has failed? 😀 Cars aren't 100% perfect and things do go wrong sometimes, I've had it with all the new cars I've had.

Making a custom Quadlock/Proclip phone mount
Its a fair point - some apps aren't easy to control with Apple CarPlay in my experience and sometimes Google maps goes a bit weird with CarPlay too. Not often but enough to make it so picking up the phone is easier. I do often watch YouTube videos when parked up and eating my lunch so this is useful for that too....

Making a custom Quadlock/Proclip phone mount
Then I installed it, works just fine. I could have put it higher but iI want to keep it out of the way of the vent. From experience I know these are rock solid and don't vibrate. Pictures show drivers and passengers view. I need a shorter charge cable - one with a right angle plug would be perfect.

So I made a new wedge which was thicker at the top, this time didn't spray it just coloured it with a marker

Tried it in the car - phone hit the buttons below the screen and it wont fit. More wood cutting!

2021 Mark IV Octavia Combi Style TD85/2.0 M6F poor performance in 6th gear when cold
I'd agree, thats only 55mph which is a bit low for 6th which is designed to be a motorway cruising gear really. I'm guessing that is quite low RPM in a petrol and won't be in any sort of decent power band so it'll be labouring even when warmed up which isn't great for the engine anyhow.

Making a custom Quadlock/Proclip phone mount
I use Quadlock phone cases and the attachments for my car/bike/office etc and have done for years. My wife has the car mount in her car (see https://www.quadlockcase.co.uk/products/quad-lock-car-mount) but I don't like things stuck on the windscreen or on top of the dash. In any case with Apple CarPlay I don't need to see the screen all the time but I would like to have it pointing to me on long drives. I have previously customised a Brodit Proclip (see here for the Octy version https://www.brodit.co.uk/brodit/vehicles/Skoda/Octavia IV/2022.htm?steer=rhd) to mount a Quadlock adaptor on (see https://www.quadlockcase.co.uk/collections/shop-home-office/products/quad-lock-st-adhesive-mount-twin-pack) my Toyota Auris but the Skoda Proclip is right down at the vents and when I screwed the Quadlock adaptor to a shaved Brodit proclip the screen wasn't visible as it was almost vertical. So I decided this time to mount an angled adaptor between the two - I can't 3d print stuff and I couldn't find anything around the house to provide the angle apart from some scrap oak I had. So I shaved the phone mount off the Brodit Proclip (it has a big square piece on it to attach one of their phone mounts) and cut an angled piece of oak. I drilled a hole though the proclip and screwed the oak on. However the oak finish looked a bit daft so I quickly masked it off and sprayed some matt black paint on. Here we are so far!! (still wet) If it looks nice enough I might leave it as it is BUT I reckon I might make it out of something nicer if it looks a bit out of place OR I reckon a bit smaller would be better but I have to tweak the position of the quad lock mount once the phone is on. NB the phone will be angled upwards AND slightly towards the driver - I might need more of a angle to the driver but I'll see what this one is like first.

At what sort of speed?
-
Delivery times?
Why? If there a hundred people inline for cars, but parts can't be sourced for the first ten, then they will build number 11, 12 and so on until the parts for the first 10 arrive. Both statements can be true at the same time. I don't know why people find it hard to understand.

Next new problem coming to an Octy near you
I had a rental car from my work before my Octy was delivered. The company was DESPERATE to get it back when the hire ended, they were rushed off their feet trying to get cars for people. I felt really sorry for them so made sure the car was clean when I have it back - they were so thankful they could just have the keys to someone else - they didn’t even bother checking it’s condition eg scratches and damage!! I had a hire car for 13 months, I bet there’s loads of people like me who are waiting for new cars and stripping the hire cars out from the likes of Enterprise.

Bolero unit and purchasing navigation add on
The inbuilt nav is a bit rubbish IMHO - I just use Apple car play. It would be a lot cheaper for you to figure out some sort of mount for your phone to get it in the right place for you - might be worth thinking about rather than plunge straight into paying £340!

Adding a wireless charger
It does take some effort to keep the piano black looking good, don’t leave objects on there and don’t just wipe with a cloth when cleaning, best to use some sort of suction with a soft brush then plenty of MPC on a cloth afterwards. I am not a fan of it, a nice Matt carbon look or alcantara like fabric would be better.

Adding a wireless charger
A Skoda dealer might be able to help with a parts number. There are some of the Mk4 models appearing in breakers yards so it might be worth having a look in one near you if it has the wireless charging as it would be a lot cheaper to buy it from a breaker than the new parts. Only problem might be condition of the part and if you can remove it yourself (some breakers aren’t very careful!!). Have a look here: http://www.partshark.co.uk/used-car-parts-breaking-vehicles/skoda/octavia/

What is your problem? I’m just trying to help them. If you don’t like people posting comments then maybe the internet isn’t for you. 😂😂
