  1. If the battery is fairly well charged at the start, then something like this should help to keep it happy. Assuming that the weather plays nicely, and your car isn't parked under cover: https://www.halfords.com/motoring/battery-maintenance/battery-accessories/halfords-20w-solar-maintainer-191251.html
  2. If it's cold, then the start / stop is inhibited I think, just like the dropping off of the output of the generator from 14V+ down to 13V (roughly)
  3. Me too, especially in the winter. I have a voltmeter in the 12v socket, and at about temperatures above 10 degC, then the engine needs to be running for about 30 minutes before the voltage drops down to an "idle" value. If I wasn't doing much running around, then I'd use a solar charger into the above 12v socket to keep the battery happier.
  4. My summer tyres are being kept for when the car finishes it's PCP.
  5. Living in the north-east of Scotland we never get the temperatures that occur in the south-east of England, for example, and so I have all season Michelin Cross Climates on my Karoq. The reviews I have seen don't show much improvement over "winter" tyres when the weather is really bad. If it gets too bad for the all season tyres, then I probably wouldn't want to be out on the roads. On other similar cars, eg a Qashqai, I did the winter / summer tyres dance, and invariably just after the swap onto the summer ones, it would snow, and be freezing for a couple of weeks. YMMV.

I had an Octavia before my Karoq, both the 1.5Tsi DSG options. They perform quite similarly, unsurprisingly, but the Karoq being a box shape does lose out on the consumption. My 7 miles commute on rural roads I see about 40mpg, cruising at a GPS on a motorway at 70mph sees about 45. Going up the M1 and its relentless 50mph average zones saw high 50's mpg. Performance isn't blistering, but I'm not often wanting much more acceleration. I had diesel Qashqai's before, and the performance of the diesel is better, i.e. more torque, but on almost any damp road the wheelspin prevention would kick in. The petrol Karoq is better at this, and the diesels are so complicated nowadays eg AdBlue, I steer away from them, especially as I do less than 10 000 miles a year.
  7. Which one of their meters do you have, and what made you chose it please? https://eu.topdon.com/collections/battery-tester?filter.v.price.gte=&filter.v.price.lte=&filter.p.tag=Battery+Tester&sort_by=price-ascending
  8. The point to note is that the car / ignition has been switched off, therefore any selections eg ECO / Sport will be deselected, and the car will be back to "Normal" until you reselect ECO etc etc.
  9. Hi and welcome. I'd say that discs now need to be changed almost as often as the pads due to the change away from asbestos and other nasties in the pads. Almost all new cars just need to see some moisture in the air, and they'll show corrosion after a few hours on the discs.
  10. Had a frost on my windscreen yesterday morning, so I'm still well happy that I have the all season tyres on.
  11. My Android Auto would only work on the cable until the big update, now it seems to work cable free all the time. My download started automatically, might be worthwhile checking that you have the data "globe" in grey at the top of the infotainment screen showing that it's enabled. If it isn't, it's red I think.

I like the "eco" setting as the engine braking isn't as noticeable. But, I go for "normal" when using the cruise control in hilly areas as the car often doesn't maintain the desired speed otherwise.
  13. The car has just done an update, and now Android Auto seems to be working wirelessly 😁
  14. I went with red for mine, hate the "undercoat" / "primer" options that seem to be the latest rage.
  15. I bought a Bosch A335H from eBay, and it fitted fine. This is the one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/335010642097
  16. Just like the rest of the infotainment system which has periods of tyre pressure warnings / last fuel consumption / welcome messages being displayed on start up, most of the time the USB drive I have connected into the USB-C by the gear lever will arbitrarily decide where it'll play the tracks from. Yesterday it even started where I'd last listened to something!
  17. One thing you need to think about is the miles you'll do per year. If it's not many then the diesel will be a poor choice as it needs to be used to keep to happy to avoid DPF regens. I have a friend with diesel Range Rover, mainly used for short commutes in town, and it's been a right PITA for them.
  18. Did anyone get any further with finding what the 2023 Karoq uses instead of the A331H on the rear? My OEM one is irritatingly noisy 😟
  19. JohnArm replied to BTandSid's topic in Skoda Karoq
"ECO" icon comes on when you're not pressing down on the throttle / cruise control not doing it for you, so basically coasting and going downhill. A rather useless icon I think, but IIRC it helps the car get a better economy rating.
  20. Is this of any help? It senses the battery voltage and switches off if it gets below a set value: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dometic-Coolpower-Voltage-Monitor-Universal/dp/B00I5DAHNO/ref=wlr_d_sccl_1_7/261-1328697-6834000?pd_rd_w=D9qqe&content-id=amzn1.sym.8a6fc501-b858-4d0e-86f8-1427f7b8e8d4&pf_rd_p=8a6fc501-b858-4d0e-86f8-1427f7b8e8d4&pf_rd_r=1Z94MFB9PV4ZMMZ0KA43&pd_rd_wg=ahMWQ&pd_rd_r=97f91db2-bb98-489c-a9a2-35071b0f52c0&pd_rd_i=B00I5DAHNO&psc=1
  21. Saw this unit on Facebook which if you believe the marketing it'll solve the BT connection problems most seem to have. Expensive to me as I'm happy to use the cable to attach the phone, though this does look a little messier. https://www.ottocastcarplay.com/products/pro-wireless?fbclid=IwAR36dOkqiOvqPCR1xB_Bk5lBo0YCK4KsaMg2LYrlvAuWRy6HLqFZ1D0ti7M_aem_AeblFtl-0nUfTlILApHXedjw2xpoNmGoTLdCZx_p8GW8JeQNypbhXHD1zs5lPkIwXlCiHAG6xaYEMs0nSfp0GFrU And also this on Amazon as I looked at the Facebook one! Wireless Android Auto Adapter, Android Auto USB C Dongle for OEM Converts Wired Android Auto to Wireless, Android Auto Wireless Bluetooth Adapter https://amzn.eu/d/eo9UbDz
  22. Does the 2019 Karoq have a hybrid system? Seems to me that the OP's car is working as designed, but they want to alter it for reasons that Skoda don't seem to think is an issue. And Skoda would be guided by the batteries manufacturer, though how independent the batteries manufacturer is given the conflicting thoughts on selling as many batteries as possible vs getting a reputation for having a low life and being unreliable. Personally, I don't see the at rest voltage being much changed by adding extra capacity, unless it's doubled.
  23. For #3 I already had my music on a "normal" mini flash drive, so just bought a 90 degree adapter so the cover will close if I want it to. 90 degree USB-C to USB adapter like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/186082467905?hash=item2b53612041:g:AcAAAOSwxQFlBe8Q&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA0LKr6cZc5QzYQ5eeVMXTAWx%2FQj6BpUoAKwsTk2LevJEJyfzZ2vRu9qNEj1mf8Qz3%2BnEI3gz9GTwFd7RA4o2D88JLuKPMM7WtXJpu%2BhAX7ABBMxIc8uuju1iTx8gR%2BCeH9hQ97smNm0XQ39osDls4C%2FrKZ%2BAKpqUuOcU599AB%2BNlLLsSnoWuSgvBxVnVFPoi6ApRuTrjRlpyFDEGyrPL8rNczYbLaIPhr8bVuL%2Bhn2%2BwdeyptIYBTL9eLuxr6OdLwln9qhDd89i1xriKii2YIWWk%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR-y76LmFYw Flash drive like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/386177112684?hash=item59e9f31a6c:g:iXAAAOSw4ARjRXy~&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwGn8g5vz5zk0vdkhFaB4Qux077YkMTyXIZA5OrOx1XNbqVS0AqsfJ3mlWK7qn2JSEh8iRa%2FVVUvln%2BjePZx9Ve3dwH8VUzu301PiDfM%2BzTqRdazFs4NihpISd9HfYsbuK%2FZRxuAlSzPBgfHLepBw9bKb2wf5IvvkM9CdoawEDMnLDSZJQOQAa7EmjOCl2aS1%2FgCiSSKQyUCY1%2FZVktxGp3BILn8pidBGqzQ28sq6TWIRLfFmV2MkOBbjdZ%2FYY8TU%2FQ%3D%3D|tkp%3ABlBMUMSg8bmFYw
  24. Down to only -5 deg C today in Aberdeenshire, around 2pm 🥶
  25. But the new car has better bugs than the older one 😂
