I had a 20 reg 1.5 Tsi DSG Octavia and I'm sure that it's gearbox was more refined than my 1.5Tsi DSG Karoq. Does your Karoq have the traction control on and working, as I can provoke my Karoq into small bouts of wheelspin before the traction control calms it down? I think it's the ESC activated in the settings in the Vehicle Status. page
  2. Depends on the charger and if it has a float mode, I have one like these for my motorbike, and which ahs been used on other cars: https://www.ctek.com/uk/battery-chargers-12v-24v/vehicle-type/motorcycle/mxs-5-0-uk At over 14v the manual for the above charger says it's either still charging, or coming down from the maximum: https://www.ctek.com/storage/5F698282EF11914E368ECD2BA726D2FC8F329CA0DA934C5E86A538F9AC089C23/00000000000000000000000000014050/pdf/media/b92f3bd538ed40b1bc345ee44e44d4fa/MXS_5.0-manual-low-UK-EN.pdf I have a small LED voltmeter in the 12v socket and it can show almost 15v at times, though I do think that it overreads a bit. On my 2023 car it's a pity that the MySkoda app doesn't include the batteries voltage.
  3. You could use one of these if you already have a "normal" flash drive with music on it, and it then allows the cover to close: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175729140216
  4. I have two USB-C ports on my 73 reg car and one is used for the Android Auto ands the other has a flash drive with tunes on, which plays them when "media" is selected
  5. My 73 reg car happily connects via the USB cable, but resolutely will not connect to the Android auto when on Bluetooth, even though the phone call option works.
  6. I liked diesel engines for their simplicity, reliability and lesser fuel consumption. Now they seem to be way more complicated and less reliable than the petrol alternatives. Thankfully I don't do the miles per year that would make a diesel a more attractive financial proposition.
  7. No opinions on which is the better battery, but if yours has lasted 5 years, in a stop / start vehicle, then I'd say that's quite a good one.

Ordered end of March, pre price rise and my dealer says I can expect it to be another couple of months before I get a build date.
  9. In my current Octavia, and the Karoq looks to have the same system, I can see the stop /start status in one of the "Car" screens.
  10. A recent review of all season tyres here: https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/product-group-tests/92863/best-all-season-tyres-2022-tyre-brands-reviewed-and-uk-prices-compared/verdict-results-category As with most things in life, which bit of the tyres performance are you willing / able to accept as a compromise for what you'd like.

Living in the North East of Scotland, all season tyres are my go to default tyre as if we see greater than 30 deg C, for any length of time, then the world is doomed.
  12. Just downloaded the file and uploaded it into my car, all seems good, many thanks bigade1. I didn't think about putting my music onto the SD card, I've been using the USB slot for it, so that'll free up it for plugging the phone into
  13. I've had various makes of cars over the last few years, some better than others, but my new to me Skoda Octavia with it's DSG gearbox is a cut above the rest. Been on a few forums so won't be posting any "What oil / tyres etc is best" type questions, and have already used the useful search facility.
