Superb 272 Stage 1 experience
Great to hear, the stage 2 did you have to do the other changes? Such impressive performance numbers. Car looks great BTW

Superb 272 Stage 1 experience
@righty that makes sense on the tune. I spoke to a couple of VAG tuners, both recommended the Revo/TVS route. Advised the TVS on the TCU. Will go that route when I can. The JR42S look lovely. Interesting on the wheels, my friend with the Audi are ET32... we were going to try them on mine to see how they go.

Superb 272 Stage 1 experience
@righty that's right pre gpf. Ahhhh both sets of wheels look lovely. A friend has a set of SL01 on an Audi S4 they look great. Yeah I am conscious of often the car has is loaded and certainly don't want any rubbing so may avoid spacers and go as good as I can with the new wheels. Thank you for sharing the pictures.

Superb 272 Stage 1 experience
This is so true re the performance no one expects anything from them, I have a 280 estate as stock currently. Great to see yours as it is similar to what I will do to mine, toward the end of this year mine will have a stage 1 Revo map and stage2+ TVS TCU. At the moment just getting the suspension + eibach springs sorted. After that a set of JR SL01 wheels as well I think.

Superb 272 Stage 1 experience
@righty I love this, it looks really great with the subtle exterior mods(only needs to be subtle with the colour of the car). Impressive performance. Wheels look lovely, what width and ET are they, did you use as any spacers for them to fill the arch? No rubbing? Thanks

Garage full of goodies!
@parapaul How you getting on now with the new set up? Couple of questions on the B12 kit: 1, Did it come with bellows/dust covers, if not did you order new or just reuse the originals? 2, Did it come with the rear bump stops, or did you order separate(possibly Febi 44907) and cut down? Thanks in advance.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Looks lovely, shiny! I have a set of black colour matched badges to fit on mine, when I get round to to it.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Ha no worries looks similar to mine in business grey, I have the same thoughts when I give it a clean that the paint seems thin the amount of small chips etc but that's just wear I guess. Nice colour though.

@Fr13ndlyGhost looks like you have been having fun, building a monster of a sleeper. @KeteCantek snap in a couple of weeks doing the same, not sure how much I can push it as will have the wife and two kids with me.

Bilstein B6
Thank you for the feedback and advice, it is appreciated. Always great to hear people's thoughts and experiences. Been pretty busy and haven't had a chance to make a decision just yet. Getting a few other bits sorted on the car first, more just general servicing - engine oil, DSG, Haldex, diffs, brakes(pads, discs, hoses), filters etc. Then will decide on the suspension(it is probably in my head but feels more wallowey everytime I drive it), I am more on the side of getting the Bilstein B12 kit now. And get the ARB I have fitted at the same time.

Ahhh lovely. Excited to hear your thoughts on the work and the changes the upgrades make to the car.

Garage full of goodies!
@parapaul exciting times, lots of goodies there! Very similar if not the same as I am intending to do to my 280 estate. Is yours the estate or the hatch? Just getting some other work done first before getting the suspension done. I got the ARB from ML also, it came from ECP. Autodoc delivered most parts but did substitute a filter and made a complete mess of a return that was their fault as a short ship. Good luck with the upgrades and looking forward to hearing about it all.

Thanks Gabrielem, I saw your issue with the Koni SA, how frustrating - sorry you experienced this. It has put me off the Koni's, the lack of support seems very poor from them given the issues. 🤯I have muddled my head up given the choices and feedback online that I can find. My main concern with the B6 is will they be too firm, I keep reading that they can feel harsh (think I have been reading too many comments on BMW forums). I would like to make sure that the car is supportive when the boot is fully loaded particularly if I do put on lowering springs(although as not going extreme with them and the progressive nature of the springs coupled with the TT spring pad would help) I watched a guy on YT suggesting B4's with Eibach springs work well together.

Doug's Race Blue VRS wagon
Oh wow, kids are amazing - one of mine is in pre school and the other at primary school...goes without saying that they eat their way through disposable income! Enjoy every moment though It does seem a minefield the different maps that are out there. One reason I think I will go with the TVS on the DSG is that the consensus across all the VAG groups is that it seems to be incredibly well regarded, the only negative people seem to say is during the uploaded waiting on new files to come back from the Netherlands if you are making changes to the map or after the first drive if something needs tweaking, but still that's normally a couple of hours. Good luck for the weekend with the fitting of the shocks, should be solid once sorted. I am still in two minds, I bought a set of Koni SA's but may send them back as keep seeing comments pop up about their quality and longevity. The ARB I did the same, a H&R Golf R style. it is never ending the small changes.

It's pretty awesome as is power wise, no one seems to know what it is. The ride is a little wallowey, hopefully new shocks and ARB will help on that front. The TVS, I was talking with AKS tuning and they recommended the TVS map on the DSG over others they can supply. I then drove an R with a TVS map and the shifts felt so good, silky smooth, lightening fast, it all felt spot on shift points, selection and putting the power down. Seemed to improve all the little quirks it has right now. So am pretty sold it seems the best at to go. Just confused on which shocks to put on at the moment B6 or Koni SA. How are you getting on with your project.

Bilstein B6
Current car is a 280, sportline, 245 40 19 tyres. It is used for everything daily driver, sometimes with family of four, camping trips fully loaded boot and occasional roof box etc Looking to upgrade standard non DCC shocks. As per most people's thoughts and feelings towards the wallowing feel experienced with the standard shocks and wanting a more balanced feel to the car, I would like it to feel flatter in corners and not so bouncy. I am looking to retain some of the comfort, but don't mind a little stiffer feeling. H&R ARB is getting fitted at the same time as the shocks. Choice is between a set of Koni Special Active(I actually have a set in the garage) or Bilstein B6 (I would need to get these swapped by the shop). I was also looking to put a lowering kit to hopefully drop the height slightly by 20mm after accounting for the 15mm drop the Sportline already has. I don't want it too low just to give it more stance, I would like it to look 'factory' lowered like the Audi S4. I was going to use the Audi TT spacer at the back to bring the height up a touch so it is balanced out and does not drop as much when fully loaded. What are peoples thoughts on the B6 vs Koni SA. From reading the Konis are a little softer than the B6? I have read a little on people not being happy about the Konis longevity which concerns me. Thanks in advance.

What size wheels/tyres will fit to Superb III
Hey Timothy, Did you pick up a set of the JR SL01's, what fitment did you go for in the end of you did and how are you liking them? Ta

Doug's Race Blue VRS wagon
It's a great car, has a bit of poke to it and no one has a clue what it is, hopefully the ARB and shocks help as it rolls a bit when pushed and the shocks feel like they just slap the surface. Have been recommended a Revo stage1 and a TVS DSG map.
-
Doug's Race Blue VRS wagon
100% they look so much better. Will look great a touch lower and offset giving a more aggressive stance. Yeah I am not sure just yet on the map. I don't have the Octavia I have the superb280 estate, about to do a few changes to it, rear ARB, Koni shocks, all the filters changed, oils changed, Haldex cleaned, discs, pads etc, amongst other bits. Just put new Conti sport contacts 7's on. Toying with the idea of engine map +DSG, just trying to see what others have gone fnd how they have found the various maps that are available.

@dooge car looks great, the black wheels look so much nicer than the stock finish(I am not a fan of diamond cut wheels). Did you decide on a remap?

280 Tyres
Hey, Sure did, size fits absolutely fine no rubbing they are fitted on a 280 estate. There is a difference in comfort, feels a lot smoother. First impressions on the Sport Contact 7's they are impressive, only driven in the dry so far. Could just be the new tyres feeling, but they have a huge amount of grip, steering feels very sharp and controlled, braking is hugely impressive. They roll nicely, cabin noise quieter than previous. A huge difference vs the previous Falkens. Early days but seems very good.
