cant programme new key fob to open doors and boot help
As a matter of interest what did the locksmith charge for programming / cloning the transponder chip?

cant programme new key fob to open doors and boot help
On pre 2009 cars I've used VCDS to assign a new key knowing the transponder PIN. But as you say on later cars it's a trip to the main dealers or you get the transponder cloned.

I understand the OP's frustration but it's a security device so would you want it to be easy to overcome?

cant programme new key fob to open doors and boot help
I only attached that link to show how it's done with VCDS. The procedure is pretty much the same for all the VAG group cars. I've used it to program fobs for my Superb my old Toledo and sons Ibiza. The area you need to access through VCDS to program fobs does vary from car to car and it's either "46- Cent. Conv" or "35 -Cent.Locking" You can also use VCDS to program the key transponder chip if you know the key PIN. VCDS will not read the PIN.

Yes use VCDS only takes a few minutes. Find someone local to you who is here o the forum and got VCDS (there is a list of people) and ask them to do it for you. Both fobs will need to be done at the same time. Or buy VCDS though not going to be a cheap solution if that's the only reason you're buying it.

So why didn't you get the lock smith to programe the fob when he cloned the transponder chip? VCDS will assign a new or second hand fob to your car. It can also assign a new transponder chip if you know the PIN code.

Hence why the main dealers supply complete balanced coupling and prop shaft assemblies. They don't want to be messing around wasting time and money after a coupling has been replaced keep trying to get an out of balance prop shaft to stop vibrating.

Oooh so based on that theory if you buy tyres online you don't need to get the wheels balanced when you go and have them fitted? IF you want to make sure it's done properly after you've replaced the couplings you'll take the prop shaft and have the balance checked and adjusted if necessary. There are places who specialise in drive shaft repair and modification who can do it. https://www.firowpropshafts.co.uk/services/propshaft-balancing

I would think the main dealers supply the complete prop shaft assembly because it's balanced with both couplings in place. Changing a coupling may well put the prop shaft slightly out of balance but not enough to be particularly noticeable?

So they are both prone to wear ? I would imagine it's probably difficult to tell just by looking how bad the wear is if not under load? Or the rubber isn't noticeably deteriorated? I couldn't say if it's the front or rear I'm getting the vibration from?

I'm getting a small amount of vibration under heavy acceleration on my 4x4. Is this the prop shaft coupling 1K0521307, 1K0521307A subject of this thread ? There seems to be quite a variation in price?

Correct timing tool kit
Sorry in my last post I meant to say the tool numbers are NOT marked on the ones in my kit. Belt changing procedure isn't that much different to the earlier 3 & 4 cylinder PD engine's except there's an additional roller and you have to lock the fuel pump.

I wouldn't have thought you would have noticed the 5mm difference in offset? Though maybe that and a difference in width of the wheels? If the new wheels are much narrower say J5.5 .

Correct timing tool kit
There are two different crankshaft locking tools which have the timing marks in different places and look very similar and aren't interchangeable. VW OEM numbers T10050 & T10100 but only one of them will fit your belt crank teeth properly. So unless you know which tool number fits your engine probably less hassle buying both. You will also need two correct diameter pins to lock the fuel pump and camshaft. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115320769744?hash=item1ad9a74cd0:g:uK8AAOSwuyNiRWhk I bought a cheap VAG group timing tool kit set several years ago which I've used numerous times. The last time I used it was on my 2.0 CFGB in my Superb which is pretty much the same as your 2.0 CFFB engine but couldn't tell you which is T10050 or T10100 as the tool numbers are marked on the tools https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303490876705?epid=15047152124&hash=item46a9774521:g:yrIAAOSw7exhXQQt

As already suggested I would 1st check the door wiring inside the rubber gaiter where the loom goes into the door. You're likely to find several damaged wires in there. The wire insulation becomes hard and brittle and eventually the wire breaks. It's a common fault right across the Skoda, VW, Seat range. I think the air bag sensor is the one with the yellow plug bottom left of the door. You will need diagnostic equipment to clear the error code to turn the air bag light off.

I changed my wheels a couple of weeks ago. When I bought the car it had 17" wheels with 225 / 45 winter tyres. I've changed to 16" VW Golf wheels with 205 / 55 summer tyres.

Superb 2012 clock spring problem
I had to change the clock spring on a 2004 Seat Toledo several years ago and had to code it to the car with VCDS. It also needed to be calibrated for the traction control to work.

Replacement Door Entry Lights
One of the reasons for using LED's is because they use less energy so doesn't having to use resistors defeats that reason?
