  1. In theory yes but it's right on recommended limits. Best advice is check with your insurer.
  2. They wouldn't get away with that in this country. Wonder how many businesses compensate their customers for a system that functions perfectly.
  3. Agree with everything above. I also have a 2020 Sportline and not a single mark on any alloy. Don't blame the tyres. If you're saying hitting the kerb is unavoidable ( a diplomatic way of saying it's the wife's driving that's the problem ) then my suggestion would be to accept driving around with curbed alloys. PS - 235/50/20 and 235/55/20 would render your car illegal / would probably invalidate your insurance. To keep those 20" alloys you'd have to go 195/55/20 ( although you'd still have to check with insurer ) You can go 17", 18" if you want but given you have a Sportline. then personally I think that'd look silly. 225/55 tyres on 19" rims might work but at the end of the day, it all comes down to how the car is driven.
  4. I hope I have this right, but if the information I've gathered is correct then paint codes F6, F7Y, 7G7G, F6F6 and LF7Y are all the same colour ! We'll see when the part arrives.
  5. I couldn't agree more. Even today, if I get a lift of someone with an older Vauxhall I sit in the rear. Had them as company cars and could never work out why I was having neck pain - for my posture there's insufficient shoulder support. But that's the thing about back pain - it only applies to me. We're all different, there's no one rule suits everyone and that's where VAG come up trumps with their electric seats. I'm struggling to think of a mainstream manufacturer who offers more adjustment in their seats. I once tried a VW massage seat but found that really annoying. There's nothing massage about it, all it does is constantly move the 4 way adjustable lumbar in both planes. It might relieve back pain in the short term but I'd have thought it'd cause long term damage. Massage is supposed to be in the one direction.
  6. That's of great help - thanks. As far as I can see there are four colour codes spread around the VW Group that appear to refer to the same colour. it's the same code as SEAT's Rhodium Grey too.
  7. Sorry just seen this. I received a circular from my local dealer regarding the £185 service ( inc vat !! ) but when I went to book online they were asking something like £210. I then checked all the other dealers in my catchment area and every single one of them had a different online booking price to what they were advertising on their website. It just seems like another typical VW Group communication problem - they don't know their ar5e from their elbow. Simple solution - book via the local dealership service desk and tell them you want the £185 service. Then cross your fingers and hope you're speaking to somebody that knows what they're talking about.
  8. I'm pretty sure it is, but can anyone confirm Metal Grey is the same as Quartz Grey? I've found a used part for a Fabia mk3 which is exactly what I'm looking for - the part number is exactly the same as used on my Karoq ( Also used on Kodiaq / Octavia 3 / Kamiq etc ). If I can get the colour right, that'll save paying someone £50 to spray paint it. The only thing is the seller ( a UK vehicle breaker ) has described the part as 'Metal Grey' which I'm guessing may be a colour available in another market. Here in the UK, we have Quartz Grey. It certainly looks the same on the photo. Colour code is same too - F7Y I'm taking an educated guess the seller has looked up the code on a European spec sheet and described it as 'Metal Grey'. Anyone heard of 'Metal Grey' before? Ta.
  9. I'd been waiting for the Black Friday event that Skoda usually applies this time of year. Our Karoq is now 3yr old and I was waiting on the All-in service plan being discounted. https://customer.vwfs.co.uk/service-plans/skoda Tad disappointed because this year their offer is slightly different. The website refers to the discount as a Winter offer rather than Black Friday and no longer includes the All Inclusive package ( 2x MOT, 2x service, 2x warranty, 2x Skoda assist etc ) Might be of interest to someone who just wants a main dealer servicing package.
  10. Agree with the comment above - you can change whatever you want but if you're still using the same seat... Not sure about a 2018 Edition but our 2019 Edition has one of the better electric 4 way lumbar supports in that not only will it bolster in an out but you can also raise or lower the bolster. Another common area that produces back pain is the level of under thigh support, but again, not only does the edition have quite a large square seat base, being electric you can adjust the angle of the base. ( my Octavia also had electric seats lumbar but the front of the seat base being curved rather than square, I did notice a slight difference in comfort. ) Another area which can cause discomfort is shoulder support, but again the seats in an Edition are quite wide and square so your shoulders should be well suported. So in summary, if you have an electric seat on your Edition, then if re-adjusting it doesn't work, I'd be looking for physio / chiro advice before I'd be looking at changing my car.
  11. In short, my advice would be to buy a 2019 Karoq ( or very early 2020 ) which has SD slots and no default lane changing.
  12. Can anyone recommend a good psychiatrist? I probably should be keeping my mouth shut and not get involved but can't help myself. Unless I'm misunderstanding, the situation then this all seems a little bonkers. Every car I can think of that's been manufactured since Y2k and earlier ( especially this with aircon ) has a pollen filter. It's commonplace that every manufacturer I can think of recommends be changed at least every 2yr. Why would you think the Kodiaq didn't have a pollen filter? I can't believe anyone with obviously some mechanical skill, would ask such a question. You ask why would you know this? I'm genuinely gobsmacked to learn that someone who carries out their own oil and filter change, who can reset the service interval reminder, and who changes their own discs and brakes can turn around and say they don't know anything about Haldex oil change. And didn't know anything about a pollen filter. Seems very strange. But... but... You just said you have Skoda dealer perform the annual services? If they're performing the annual services then why are you bothered about the pollen filter? Unless you specifically told them not to, ( which you couldn't have as you didn't know a pollen filter existed ) they'll have changed the pollen filter at every 2nd year/service. Why are you buying a pollen filter at the oil change service? I'm soooooo confused. Help !!!!
  13. @Skomaz There are so many threads on this subject. The part causing the issue was modified and installed on cars built mid-late 2019. We had a recall notification on our 2019 Karoq when it went for it's 1st service where they found the modified part had already been installed at the factory. Not to say other sunroof issues may exist, but the known 'blockage problem' folk keep referring to was resolved at least 3yr ago. It'll be like the DQ200 gearbox issue, people still refer to it as a problematic gearbox. I guess mud sticks.
  14. Presumably because it's an online manual? I do understand. What I can't understand is why does OP thinks he has to download the manual. You can read it on a tablet, a phone you can even read it on the headunit itself. How different is the online version to the printed offline version? What is the OP specifically looking for? ( I'm not convinced he knows ) The online version includes Videos / demos. How the **!&$ can you print off a video? It's an online manual - the clue is in the description. I go straight back to what I said before, I think Skoda have provided masses of information for all their cars which is available to anyone. To think all we used to have was a thick book filling the glovebox - I think it's brilliant. I see the OP's issue like Encylopedia Britannica. You used to be able to buy a whole shelf worth of large heavy books, which they then transferred on to CD. ( mid-90's, pre internet days ). It's like someone complaining that they can't print off the contents of the CD. If there's a specific section that you must have on paper then what's the problem just taking a screen shot of that? You don't have to screen shot the whole online manual. You don't need a big thick physical manual telling you how the indicator stalk works if all you want to know is how to remove the rear headrests !
  15. "Cleaning mould doesn't remove or kill it" What ever gave you that idea? Of course mould can be removed. Your carpets will be cleaned and dried out. Your carpets won't be replaced unless they're rotten. Same with the rust, you've shown pictures of surface rust - the same stuff that gathers on your brake discs when your car sits for a few days in the wet. It'll get cleaned off and as long as the area remains dry, won't re-appear. But you say your car is on lease? Why are you bothered about rust hidden behind trim panels if it's not your car? I'd be dealing with the owner / lease company before I'd be dealing with Skoda.
  16. When I was but a lad it seemed the Jaguar was always the go to car for the serious criminal. I'm thinking the Sweeney, the professionals any pre-1970 film etc. Bet this lot wish they'd used one too. How an Autotrader add, a call to Skoda and good old fashioned police work stopped a violent armed gang.
  17. I'm obviously missing something. If you're able to see the manual your require on your study PC, then you're able to print off whatever it is you're looking for - you've just done it, the only difference being you've printed it to screen rather than paper.
  18. If it's a 2020 car and has the MIB3 system ( i.e. no CD player in glovebox ) then my guess is it needs the dealer installed software update ( it's a known Skoda fault with early MIB3 systems ).
  19. That's certainly a new one on me. If the car had been manufactured properly then I can't think why the leak should show up now. I'd have thought it's always been there. There's another possibility. It's unlikely but wonder if the previous owner installed aftermarket speakers and then re-installed the old ones when selling the car. Anyway, hopefully that's it sorted.
  20. Unusual no forum member has already replied to this. My thoughts are: 1: You're getting confused between a hire car and courtesy car. Courtesy car's may already be booked out hence the wait. 2: Skoda assist is a breakdown service. Your car hasn't broken down so no issue there. 3: It's very unfortunate you have a problem and it's not good that the problem isn't being dealt with sooner, but this issue isn't stopping you from using the car. 4: Do you know where the leak originates from? I ask because I'm curious how you expect the repair to take 4-6 weeks? Usually takes a few days max to souce / repair a leak. 5: If your car is undrivable and there are no courtesy cars available then warranty normally pays for a replacement vehicle. It's normal that the replacement vehicle supplied only gets you from A to B. A Fabia has five seats same as Karoq. 6: As per other threads that usually point the blame sunroof's as being the culprit for water ingress ( strong possibility given you appear to have two leaks according to those photos - one drivers side and one on the passenger ) that must have been there for sometime if there's mould growing. If you have a sunroof, open it and make sure there are no obvious obstructions over the front drainage channels. 7: You say it's a 2021 car. Have you owned it new since 2021? If so then contact the dealer principal from the garage you purchased the car from, explain the problem. If your car does have a sunroof then say it's a known Skoda problem therefore the likelyhood is the problem was already present when you purchased the car. ( if he/she has any brains that should at least get you priority ). As there are no courtesy cars available ask if the waranty or the garage will provide a rental car for you. Depending on their workload it may well be 12Dec before they can begin to fix the problem but I'd have thought they'd be able to at least diagnose it quicker. PS - In the meantime I'd remove that floormat and and least let the air get to the carpet.
  21. I very much doubt Skoda meant the reset option to be carried out by the owner, at least I've never seen the operation described in any VW Group owners manual. You probably need someone else to answer your query because as far as I'm aware, an oil + inspection is the annual service for fixed intervals.
  22. Erm, it's not my view. How else can you prove to the warranty provider the car has been serviced properly? To maintain a warranty a vehicle has to be serviced by a VAT registered business. Assuming it's on a yearly schedule then the exact same inspection message should have come up last year. What happened then?
  23. How old is your car / how many miles has it covered / are you on an annual or flexible service regime? An inspection means just that - giving the car a once over to check fluid levels and such. No harm in asking the dealer or even a VAG specialist with the correct equipment to do it but I suspect the result will be that it'd have been cheaper asking them to carry out a service + inspection that servicing the car yourself and then they inspect it. Dunno, just an educated guess. Just a note - if you yourself changed the oil & filter then reset the oil service light, then unless you're a registered motor business, you'll be aware that's invalidated any warranty?
  24. Unless someone cannot access the internet ( not Skoda's fault ) then I fail to see the problem. I've just googled Karoq + owners + manual I've selected the first website shown https://manual.skoda-auto.com/004/en-com/Models That gives you every model Skoda have produced for what I reckon is the past 30 years. You select whatever car you want and it prompts you to enter a date. You enter the specific date you're interested in You're then prompted with language and you enter that.... Skoda's online webpage allows anyone to view and/or download the manuals for every car over the past 30 years, every revision of that manual, and in all languages it was produced in. There's no need for VIN numbers or to own a Skoda, the site can be acceessed by anyone. Appalling? I think it's brilliant. There can't be many manufacturers who offer a better service than that. You can access the manual on your laptop or if you don't have that, your tablet, or if you don't have that, your smartphone. And if I didn't have any of those, I'd look at the section I'm interested in, write notes on a piece of paper ( or print it out ) and take it to the car. Sorry but can't see the problem.
  25. km/L ? That's a new one on me. Wonder where that originated from. I thought both China and Japan were L/100km so assumed the whole Far East would be the same. Any other countries use km/l?
