New pedals or covers
Evening. My current DSG foot pedals are tired, grubby and a bit slippy now. Has anybody fitted stainless steel ones on their Superb 3T4? Would Octavia vrs ones fit? Any links appreciated. Thank you.

DSG Service today
Evening all. I had my DSG service today, first time using a certain dealer, and last. I asked for the old filter before the service, to make sure they actually put a new one in, I have it in the boot, it's a DQ250 so is part of the process, sadly I have zero trust in dealerships. They also said it had been calibrated, felt as smooth as before, so all good there. Once I paid the £295 and left, I went to Morrisons and thought I would have a little look under the bonnet as it had stopped raining finally. The U shaped plastic hose was hanging off, not connected at all to the air intake and the little cover over the scoop has two snapped clips. I reconnected the air hose correctly, I did not have time to return to the dealer but am not happy. I don't have proof they snapped it but it was fine when I cleaned the bay prior to my Indy doing a service Monday. Worth claiming? It's not an expensive part but I take great pride in everything to do with my engine bay.

Disc backing plates
Thanks @DrCorbyLee. I have just been on that site you recommended and purchased a pair for the rear, oddly different prices each side but.... £48 all in! Via Fedex. Will get the fronts in the spring, they are easier to fit than the rears. Cheers for the advice mate.

Disc backing plates
Thank you for the reply. That is cheap for VW. I only looked at the rear ones tonight on LLL parts and they were over £40 each! I get what you are saying, as I said, I only use genuine for my engine, but the price for VW seemed very high. Am looking at £300 for Bosch disc and pads already plus labour.

Disc backing plates
Good evening. Long story short, I need a new rear backing plate/disc guard, it came off today. As I have my car going in for new pads and discs on all four corners, I intend to replace all 4 guards. They are all from factory so all in the same 12 year old state. My question is are the cheap E-Bay ones OK? Autodoc etc? I only use genuine for the Engine etc, but they are so expensive for what their function is. Cheap on Autodoc also, take a chance? Anybody used non VW ones? Any advice welcome.

Hardwire Dashcam
Good afternoon. I am going to finally hard wire my front dash cam this weekend as its above zero and fed up plugging it into the 12v ciggy lighter. I have opened the side fuse box, earthing is very obvious but I cannot work out which fuse is not constant to piggy back. Multimeter has been leant out never to return. Trying to avoid trying them all. Any advice welcome.

Foot pedal upgrade/replacement
Good evening. I am thinking of getting new pedal covers, the shiny metal ones, my current ones are a bit tatty and worn. I can only find DSG Octavia II ones online, will they fit my Superb DSG pedals? Any advice or links most welcome.

Should coolant temperature ALWAYS be 90 degrees Celsius
Good evening. Once up to temperature mine always sits at 90c. Never higher or lower. Maybe a faulty thermostat?

New Diverter Valve
Was the one you took out the piston or diaphragm type? Will see if they do a 2.0 tsi one, I always like a plan b! My revision G one holds boost better than the old one, also think I had a leak.

New Diverter Valve
@aero-hot Hey mate. Is that a blow off valve or standard DV? I like a quiet car. Does it drive as standard with it or any difference to the VW one?

Columbus In German!
I had exactly the same thing a year ago. @varooom saved mine by sending me a link to copy onto a disc, it all depends on what your current software is. Contact him, he may be able to help you. He saved my stereo, the upgrade only took 30 minutes following the onscreen instructions. Just watch for battery drain.

Replacing rear badge on 2012 hatchback
I changed my badges last year from old green to new silver and black. Mine just popped of the back, no unscrewing at all, cleaned the old glue off and new genuine one on. I used a trim tool. I have the dual boot 2012 elegance.

Timing chain cover date
- Timing chain cover date
Hi J.R. I don't know the exact, date I believe around March 2012 onwards for the latest revision according to my research online. But it varies of course.- Chain tensioner check.
Good afternoon. As a 2012 2.0 tsi I thought I would have a check on what revision I am running, the scaremongering has got the better of me. Quite an easy Job to have a look, please see pics. If anybody else is going to do it, give me a shout if you need any tips. I have a spare bung now if anyone wants it. The old one popped back in nae bother. Very hard plastic. Looks like I am not running the original one with the issue thank goodness.- Timing chain cover date
Said tensioner. The bung was fine to put back in.- Timing chain cover date
