  1. More than a decade ago I loved driving at night, long distances. The increasing number of cars on the roads doesn't bother me at all, but there's a non-negligible percentage of cars (not so new) that retrofitted "not so legal" front lights - those are really ruining the night-driving experience. Either too strong lights, or Xenon headlights without auto-leveling system, the list is long. On the Rear fog lights topic I think symmetric (2 left-right or 1-centrall) and asymmetric are equally good; as long as you can see the car in front on thick fog, it doesn't really matter.
  2. Wow, so it's not only for 3rd world countries like RO... Same in my case, they didn't say how much sooner, but they mentioned it will be within the timeframe specified in the Contract. Keeping the options, they told me the Factory can no longer deliver in the Contract delivery time, and that parameter will change to "unknown".
  3. My mk4 is only theoretical until sometime next year, but I've seen the symptoms that you mention reported on several online reviews. Apparently it's either a buggy software, or a faulty light module - but it's serviceable via the warranty.
  4. Apparently Skoda Romania is reading from time to time this Forum, because they seemed to react to my post (of yesterday) that I'm never contacted by the dealership. (Just kidding of course 😉 ) Minutes ago I was called by the dealer (what were the odds???) who made me an offer I could not refuse 🤔. They received from Skoda HQ (or Factory) a list of cars that might go into production (not specified when, next year) if some of the options are removed. My car made the list, and the options they proposed I give up are Park Assist and Rear-view camera. The two were part of a larger Clever-Pack available in Romania when I placed the order, no longer eligible since September. Without those two they said the car will be delivered within the Contract term (so until next August), but if I still keep the two options there will be an unknown delay beyond August. So I gave up the two options and they will email me an Addendum to the Contract with the new value: 500 Euro less. I gladly gave up the Park Assist, I never used it on my GT - for me it's a waste of money. I do regret the Reverse Camera since the parking sensors are not that precise. Let's just hope the cables are there, so I'll just need to add the Camera and configure it. Really happy they didn't want to remove the Matrix-LED, that would have been a very hard decision for me.
  5. In Romania, the config I ordered 3 months ago is now more than 2.000 Euro pricier, and some of the options are missing - so the difference is higher. If I take into account the total discount I got from the dealer (inluding the packages discounts) the "real" price difference is above 4.000 Euro, with less options.
  6. Hi brankokotor, Could you provide further details, a tutorial or a link with the steps to follow in order to activate the options that you mentioned? (power, torque, VRS cluster, lock car with running engine) Thanks!
  7. Just to add my own short experience here: I placed the order mid-August with an initial maximum waiting time of 35 weeks, which was increased in September (via an Addendum to the Contract) to 45 weeks. Somewhere in October I dared asking the dealer if there's any news concerning the car; whether it's in the production waiting list, or if it's going to be built and wait afterwards for the missing electronics. The only answer I got was that there's no information at all. Which sounds really strange, since I keep reading plenty of posts of people that are kept informed by their dealers, even on the Romanian VW/Skoda Forum. That's why I think (at least here in Romania) the general policy of Skoda is "Let's not provide any further info until the car is on it's way to the dealership", since most of the updates so far were delay after delay... And only a few lucky clients are still being kept up-to-date via the courtesy of their local representative who is kind (or professional) enough to provide the info. The only thing I was told is that they will notify me when the car will reach the Romanian Customs. My config is an Octavia 2.0 TDI 150cp DSG Style plus several options and packs.
