  1. Yep, seems about wright; the German site I quoted above says: - VW Golf - 5 months, +6 m for GTI/R... I'm assuming their computer is failing when they ask for Octavia delivery times... 😅 Could be... The German site says "from 6 months"... I was being subjective - I took the minimum value. But that's also the case for Octavia - also the minimum, which we now know for sure will not be applicable 🤬
  2. C'mon guys, it's not all the market that has huge delays. There are plenty of counter examples on the market... Just have a look inside VAG's own yard; it's obvious they favor some brands ti the disadvantage of others: - an Arteon is delivered in 3 months!!!!!! - there's no model on Volkswagen list that has longer than 6 m. delivery... - Audi: between 4 and 10 months (and longer for the fancier ones) - Seat: 4 to 6 months - Cupra 4-6 m. - Skoda (non-Octavia): 4-9 months - Octavia: 10+ - Octavia IV: Q3.2023 Just tell me what's your explanation for that situation. Do you think that ONLY the Manager at the Octavia factory is a freaky'n moron that's incapable of building a stock of components, while all the other are brilliant? VW Group management would have fired the hell out of him if it was so... There must be an explanation in the Group's policy that's eluding us. It used to be the fact that Skoda was the "cheaper VW" (aka "the poor man's German car"), but now it doesn't seem to be the case anymore.
  3. Or simply add a flat "spacer" between the charging pad and your phone - such as an anti-slip rubber mat, only a few mm thick. At that distance the phone will not charge. When U want to use it, simply remove the spacer and charge...
  4. One way would be to leave the fuse in place, "lift" the plastic tray that includes the wireless charger and simply disconnect the cable on the back. (I'm assuming it's a connector, not a soldered cable) For the dismantling instructions see the Skoda service manuals - there was a link to all of those somewhere on this forum. Let me know if you don't find it.
  5. Hmm... I'd hate to be the bad-news source, but according to the link you can see above that's not likely to be true. Indeed, they were showing Q1.2023 before last week, but that's recently changed to Q3.2023 - for iV olny. Besides that, I think it's too soon after the fire at the factory for Skoda to make a realistic evaluation of the delays and to communicate that to local representatives. I asked mine at the end of last week and they had no official info from Skoda HQ.
  6. U should ask you dealer, maybe he can have a look at the status. That would also be useful info for the Forum - there are plenty of people waiting for their Octy's. p.s. I would ask mine, but they told me last year that they won't know any status until the car reaches Romanian customs. L.E. "Are these delays really true?" Lat month the delivery term for Octavia iV was Q1.2023, last week it was showing Q3.2023; info from this site: https://www.marnet-mobility.de/aktuelle-lieferzeiten.html
  7. https://www.marnet-mobility.de/aktuelle-lieferzeiten.html Obviously Skoda has the slightly longer delivery times (inside VAG group), with Octavia being the record holder. But Q3/2023 for Octavia iV? Are they kidding? I'm betting those 10 months for Octavia will become 1y+ once they include the latest delays (this week's fire). Don't know about BMW, Ford and Hyundai, but I know at Renault it's estimated at 3-4 months when you place the order, and they never deliverlater than 6months when U order the full plate - at least here in Ro. I placed the order August 23rd, accepted by the factory September 11th, somewhere in November they proposed that I give up rear-view cam. to speed up delivery (without being given a new delivery term) which I accepted. Still no build week estimate until this Friday when I last talked to the dealership. @zetzet & @MaximusMeridius it's far worse not being given a best-effort delivery estimate (since they can't offer the precise date), than being told you'll have to wait 1y or more. @zetzet you'd be surprised how elaborate the software is at the factory in order to synchronize parts from half or allover the world to build those cars - they really plan the production with months to 1 year in advance. What I call best-effort estimate costs precisely 0 cents, it's already in their system. I'm betting (don't know for sure) that each national Skoda HQ (not the individual dealers) has access to that database. I agree with you, a chip factory Covid closure in China or a fire in Mlada Boleslav cannot be predicted, but the delays are immediately included in their production planning.
  8. Oh, I forgot to mention (I wrote several pages behind on this topic) - my Contract is dated end of Aug.'21, so waiting for the car this summer was not at all optimistic! That's why I'm saying delivery this autumn should be possible... 45 weeks (Contract max.) + 8 weeks (legal delay) + 8-12 weeks (delay caused by fire) => brings me to Oct.-Nov. 2022!!! 😭 L.E. the local Skoda web-page shows cars in stock (at the dealers or in customs waiting to be delivered); just a couple of days ago an almost-identical one (to the car I ordered) appeared in stock. Diesels are sold almost instantly here in Romania, all they had in stock so far were petrol or iV. I would gladly take the one in stock, but it's priced at 35.800 Euro, while my contract was signed with 29.500 Euro. The price increase is insane!!!
  9. My Contract says 35-45 weeks maximum, with a "promise" from the dealership that I'll get the car sooner than that. Until this weekend I has some hopes I'll have the car before my summer vacation. Now I no longer imagine the car will be with me before this autumn.
  10. I wish I'm wrong, but prepare for some bad news... It looks like Skoda just ran out inner door panels for Octavia, and the production lines for those. Have a look at the videos in the Czech article: https://www.kurzy.cz/zpravy/631971-vikendovy-pozar-haly-v-mlade-boleslavi-se-tykal-dodavatele-skody-auto/
  11. Just contacted my dealership to ask if they received any official news (from the factory) concerning any potential further delays generated by the last weekend's fire in Mlada Boleslav. The answer was NO; no info from the factory, no info from Skoda Romania towards local dealers, no obvious changes in the production schedule at the factory... Telling me "you have to wait 1 year for the car" is way better than telling me nothing and keep me in the dark indefinitely...
  12. This seems to be the location of the subcontractor: https://goo.gl/maps/nPP4DfZ2BAJ7k6Yb7 if you go to the GMaps link and look at the last photos for "Grupo Antolin-Turnov (Mlada Boleslav)" you'll see a few pictures uploaded after the fire. Skoda factory is a few km away (straight line).
  13. Genius!!! 🤣🤣🤣 You should send a message tot he factory and suggest the new "punch line"! No, not really... I read several articles on that topic. The fire was close to the train-station in Mlada Boleslav, and the depot that caught fire was actually hosting some plastic-panels production lines for Octavia (belonging to a subcontractor, not property of Skoda). Here's a long (sorry for that) Google Translate of a Czech article on that: " The fire, which broke out on Saturday night in Mladá Boleslav and spread to the Grupo Antolin plant, will have a hard impact on the production of the largest Czech carmaker, Škoda Auto. The affected company makes door panels for it and the carmaker is not able to replace the given part of the fabric in any way. Due to the fire in Mladá Boleslav, we will not finish up to 16,000 Octavia, trade unionist Povšík guesses. This will affect production for months According to preliminary estimates, the damage will exceed one billion crowns after a large fire in the halls near the railway station in Mladá Boleslav, the police said on Twitter. No one was injured in the fire, firefighters killed him for about 17 hours. The causes of the fire are not yet known. Jan Sýkora, a spokesman for firefighters, has not yet had information on the amount of damage; according to him, the owner of the company estimated 900 million. "The estimate corresponds to what the owner of the company said, however, the amount of damage will be further specified," said Sýkora. The owner of the halls stored car parts in them. So far, the highest damage of four billion crowns was caused in 2015 by a fire in the Unipetrol complex in Záluží near Litvínov. More than a hundred firefighters and about 40 cars have been fighting the fire since Saturday evening, and they left for him around 20:30 on Saturday. They went to the reported waste fire, but found on the spot that pallets stacked to a height of several meters were burning. Wooden pallets probably belong to Akuma, which is based here. Of these, the fire spread to the production and storage halls in the neighborhood, which is used by Grupo Antolin Turnov. Kamila Andrlová from the ČTK company confirmed that the company is rented on the premises where it was burning. According to information from police spokeswoman Michaela Richter, the company apparently stored plastic car parts and production lines here. First, firefighters struggled with a lack of water, they had to set up several gas stations. The extinguishing was then complicated by a strong wind, but also by the sunken roof of one of the halls. The highest level of fire alarm was canceled on Saturday around 3:00, when firefighters brought the fire under control. An hour later, he was lowered to second grade and some firefighters returned to base. Half an hour after noon, firefighters lowered the alarm to base. An excavator of the rescue unit helped with the dismantling of the burnt structures, and a police dog trained to search for flame retardants also took part in searching the site. During the extinguishing on the spot, the chemical unit of the fire brigade from Kamenice monitored whether excessive amounts of pollutants were escaping into the air. The firefighters did not find any harmful values. Forensic scientists are investigating the causes of the fire. "We wanted to send a drone to the place, but due to the strong wind it is not possible," said police spokeswoman Michaela Richterová. According to her, police dogs will probably be used to help with the investigation. " (Source: https://archiv.hn.cz/c1-67028490-kvuli-pozaru-v-mlade-boleslavi-nedokoncime-az-16-tisic-octavii-tipuje-odborar-povsik-vyrobu-to-ovlivni-na-mesice ) On the other hand, it's as if the Skoda factory was directly affected - since they'll encounter a new components shortage...
  14. I wonder if it's possible to ask for the car to be delivered sooner without the inner door panels 🤔 - apparently the fire affected some plastic-molding lines for Octavia door panels. I would agree for those to be delivered later 😉 Or maybe that's great news! By the time those production lines get back on their feet, maybe Skoda will solve/debug the software issues they have with this car.
  15. Those of us who had NO news so far about their car's production week, should now add several more months to those 10-19 months that you mention... Details below: https://www.nautiv.com/unfinished-damages-will-start-to-accumulate-again-it-burned-at-the-supplier/ I wonder if at least some of us will start receiving calls/emails from the dealer informing about the waiting time extension... Or will they just let us wait in the dark?
  16. Actually they don't... not the standard Style. To get the full width rear lights there's an option called "Top LED rear lights" that costs about 160 Euro and comes also with dynamic turning signals. Without that option, Style is delivered with non-LED rear lights and only on the outers as you mentioned.
  17. It could be just the way you feel the car, but since others with DCC and even 19" say it is a nice ride you should investigate further. By the way, what tyre pressure are you using?
  18. That's really impressive! Congrats! Your delivery is completing the dismantling of the hypothesis around here that diesel orders are pushed backward due to pollution quotas to be met by the VAG group. We've now seen all the scenarios: TSIs, TDIs and IVs being delivered either very late or quite soon on all sides of the old continent. It no longer seems to be a matter of East-West or TSI-TDI discrepancy, or even further - a matter of more options vs. less options... I can only imagine they organise from time to time at Skoda HQ, a behind-closed-doors lottery to decide the happy clients that will receive their cars the next month... Don't forget to upload some pictures on the dedicated topic and let us know your first impressions.
  19. about that... @zetzet might be wright - I've heard this before. Check on your phone for an Android update - Samsung released Android 12 for the entire S20 series. It's now rolling out for the S10's. With Android 12 you're sure to have the latest AndroidAuto...
  20. The way I see it, if there's no memory function for the mirrors the "Mirror Dip" function will not work properly - see the requirements in the description of the App. That's why the mirror goes all the way down in your case - since it can't store the preferred position that you define. I don't quite remember, but I surely read somewhere on the forum that you need to have electric&memory seats in order to have Mirror Dip work properly.
  21. Hmm... did your company order Octavia IV? Because the delivery estimates for those went up recently, have a look in the link below at Skoda cars: https://www.marnet-mobility.de/aktuelle-lieferzeiten.html Those are (almost) real-time adjusting delivery estimates for VAG cars in DE, and the delivery for plug-in Octavia changed to Q1/2023 in the past month. Before the end of last year, they were still showing 9-10 months or so... Indeed, deliveries look a bit like lottery - there were recent deliveries in Bulgaria and Greece ordered in October and September (if I remember correctly) and there are orders since March & April still waiting in UK, France, Germany. It's almost impossible to establish a pattern or East-West EU discrepancies... @KBizzle - same here: I keep fooling myself that the software will be (almost) bug-less. But I'm afraid that's something I'm dreaming only to justify the wait. I ordered a TDI in August, so I'll keep waiting for quite a while.
  22. Hmm, I wouldn't worry too much about that... My 14 years-old Megane is smart-enough to cut the power after several minutes (10 or 15, don't remember exactly), even if I'm inside the car with radio on for example. So I'm assuming that Oct.mk4 (that has more computing power than the first mission to the Moon) is able to prevent accidental battery drain. On the other hand, seeing how many software faults were reported here... it makes you wonder how did they make the IT team for the mk4?!?! 🧐
  23. They're trying to convince us to give up diesel engines, without canceling the Orders from their side... 🤔 I still don't have any info (no build estimation) - ordered 2nd half of August.
  24. Have a look at this topic, you might find an answer:
  25. Did you contact the dealership? According to @Skodamias there was a software fix for this problem. His car is a 2021, yours being a 2020 I'm guessing it has an older software.
