August is usually vacation month for lots of industry in Europe - I'm starting to suspect there was no one at the factory to take the orders -> they must be flying around in the Universe. As I mentioned already, my dealer contacted me two weeks ago with what she called "news": "your car is scheduled for production". So I asked enthusiastically: "When?"; she said they don't have this information. However, yesterday I briefly heard from her again, only to tell me that they've got an official info from the Factory that: because of the fire in January, most of the cars currently produced are being "stored" for 3-4 months, until they estimate it will be possible to have the door panels to complete the cars. BTW, I also found an official press release from Skoda stating that the current Russian "special operation" invasion&genocide in Ukraine is only affecting the production of Eniaq IV.

  3. I'd be more than happy for you to be wright, but as I said - I know several cases where the prices went up. Here's one of those (it took me to quite a while to find it): It would be great if the prices were really fixed, because with the current situation it can only go up (if it is allowed to change). I was really paying attention and read the Contract word-by-word; I couldn't find any paragraph stating the two sides need to agree before any price modification. However, there's one article empowering the dealer to declare unilaterally "impossibility to deliver the car" for various reasons. So it becomes quite simple: they tell you due to market changes and production costs the price went up; if you do not agree they can invoke the "impossibility to deliver the car" at the price stipulated in the Contract. It is the kind of "take it or leave it" offer. If you don't buy it, they will sell it quite fast at an even higher price - since stock cars are very scarce.

  5. I stand corrected if you know something for sure, but let us know also. What's the connection? How are those countries involved in the production? I really have no knowledge of their involvement in the process.
  6. Not really... There's at least one situation I read about on this very topic (can't remember the User...) where the price of the car was changed. And by "changed" I mean "increased". Sure, let's make an imagination effort and try to figure out ourselves what parts for Octavia would be coming from either Ukraine or Russia... I'm afraid it's just one more reason they can blame for the delays that are already over the roof. There are people here who ordered their cars 1 year ago, when the waiting time was much shorter than 1y - and they are still waiting for the car.
  7. Let's just hope the prices on our "virtual" cars won't go up at delivery; the European economy won't feel so well with all the sanctions we see being applied. Energy-wise, all prices will go up for sure. Just be happy you're not that close to the conflict zone; Eastern Europe is not the happiest place on Earth these days...
  8. Yep, it's discussed. Search the Forum, I don't remember exactly the topic. You have to access the fuse box under the dashboard and remove 1 or 2 fuses fro a couple of minutes. You put them back and you have your internet active in your car. Do you also have the "small globe" icon on the infotainment screen in grey instead of white? I found some links for you:
  9. At this very moment the Romanian Octavia stock (visible online) includes a PHEV with the 17" wheels, which was a real surprise for me. However, it's the Rotare Aero, not the Pulsar. I don't think there's a technical reason for not using the Pulsar on PHEV; it's just very uncommon. All the PHEVs I've seen before this last one were configured with the 18" as standard and 19" as option. It's not even possible in the Romanian car Configurator to have a PHEV with the 17" wheels; I guess the one currently in stock was ordered many months ago... later edit: I doubt you'll understand much of it, but the essentials will be quite clear. The trim levels here are different from what you are used to in Western Europe; this "Ambition" trim would be level 2 out of 5, so not too fancy, hence the 17" wheels.   10. Down here in south-eastern Europe, I know (directly or via friends) the waiting times for several different brands, both Asian and European... The shortest ones are about 4 months indeed, such as Kia, Renault and others - but it's model&factory dependent. However, NO dealer is offering a fixed and legally binding delivery term; they all admit delays are always possible.
  11. Yep, I think that was mentioned by several users on the topic dedicated to "PHEV battery problems". That's a software issue for sure. Did you ask Skoda about any available updates? (even though I'm not expecting too much from them)
  12. sure, that's also possible. Agreed, I'm not really complaining about the dealer, but I'm cursing Skoda! Reading all the stories on this topic I kind of resigned in a sort of hibernation... having no expectations of delivery before later this year - autumn maybe. Really pushed this topic somewhere on a secondary list in my head. But out of the blue, I get this call "it's scheduled for production". Why would anyone bother to call any client to tell him the car is scheduled for production if they can't provide an estimation? (Not even month, not a provisional week). For me, the fact that Skoda accepted the order (some 2 weeks after the I placed the order) means the car will be at some point scheduled for production... So I feel like they called me to tell me that the order is still accepted by the factory ๐Ÿ˜€ I'm just bothered that they woke me up from hibernation, without providing any actual news. Not sure I'm making myself clear...
  13. That makes some kind of sense... After I had NO info for ~6 months, I am suddenly told it will be built. So what you're saying might somehow explain why they called me. On the other hand I'd hate to build false expectations; and the fact that they're not mentioning an estimated fabrication week, is really frustrating. To me it still means it could be between next week and end of the summer...
  14. Just got the weirdest call today from my dealer... - I called to tell you that your car is finally scheduled for production. - Wow! Great news! What's the estimated production week? (I asked) - Oh, that I don't know. We can't see that bit of info in the system! WTF Skoda??? that's really strange, to say the least! Their transparency is getting really opaque?!?!? She told me that out of about 10 Octavia orders they have pending since last year, two were apparently scheduled for production, even if they can't say when...

With an order placed back in Aug'21 and delivery Dec.'22, you're close to the record holder of this topic ( @RsDub - if I'm not mistaking currently holding 1st place / ordered Oct.'21 - delivery Jan.'22). I ordered in Aug.'21 and I don't even have a provisional build estimation; really NO INFO!!! If I'm allowed a bad joke: since you got your first Octavia in ~4 months, the "conservation laws" would imply that the second one will be delivered so late - such that the average of the two will be the average waiting time we all observed on this forum... Kidding aside, your dealer might have been a bit too optimistic on your second order; but if you now add 1-3 months delay (caused by the fire @factory) you might get something closer to reality.

Since I'm assuming the Contract terms are country-dependent, here's the Paragraph #3 (included in Chapter "Other Conditions") in my Contract: "The Buyer expressly accepts the Seller's right to unilaterally terminate the Contract, at least 30 days before the delivery date ("Term of Termination"), if within the Term of Termination the Seller informs the Buyer of the fact that the vehicle mentioned above it cannot be ordered from the manufacturer or, although the vehicle has been ordered from the manufacturer, the latter notifies the Seller that he cannot deliver the ordered vehicle within the specified time. The amounts paid as advance by the Buyer will be returned, within 5 working days from the date on which the Seller informs the Buyer about the impossibility of fulfilling the order. If the manufacturer informs the Seller that the good can be delivered in a longer delivery time than the one initially agreed by the parties, the Seller may: (i) agree (including by email) with the Buyer a change in the extension of the delivery date without modification of the other contractual financial conditions, or in the absence of an agreement of the Buyer for the extension of the delivery term, the Seller may terminate the Contract." FYI, the "Term of Termination" refers to the termination of the Contract. In my case it is equal to 45+8 weeks (45=max. delivery term, 8=max. delivery delay mentioned in the Contract). Before the "Termination" date of the Contract, the two parties may agree (email or phone) on prolonging the Contract, in principle under the same financial conditions (sadly, that's not explicitly indicated in the Contract). So clearly, the dealer (or the factory) has the upper hand in this Contract, they can close it anytime they want without paying any penalties... Indeed, the though of them being able to cancel after keeping you waiting a year or more, is really annoying. Unfortunately the common-sense rules don't seem to apply here...
  19. Totally agree with you, it's a ****ty situation... ...but as far as I can tell you can't do anything about it. Don't know how your Contract looks, but I carefully read mine and all the conditions. It clearly specifies a "cannot deliver" clause that ca be invoked by the Factory. It's followed by complete refund of the deposit, but there are no penalties for delaying you or "blocking" your money for a long time... It's unfortunate, but it's the kind of "take it or leave it" deal... Their Legal department knew quite well what was doing when they drafted that type of Contract.
  20. It could be something related to iV models in particular? Last week when I discussed with the dealer, I was asking what's going on with those crazy delivery terms for Octavia iV (estimated Q3.2023). She told me that even with those long terms, they are not allowed to accept orders for Octavia iV until further notice from the factory.
  21. I guess they can't; but they can however use a cancellation to their advantage... I mentioned it few pages ago (on this topic). On the Skoda-RO stock list (available online) a 2.0 TDI DSG Style++ apeared out of the blue about 2 weeks ago. I knew the stock quite well, since I checked it weekly since I placed the order last August. There was no TDI, only PHEVs. Since this one was really similar configuration as my order, I asked my dealer about it; and also: how is it possible to build stock when there are TDI/DSG orders not delivered? She told me that it can't be stock building up, but it must be an order that was cancelled by the client and now the car belongs either to Skoda-RO, or to the dealer... Cancellations by the factory are indeed very bad news! And again, what they choose to cancel makes no sense - similar to the deliveries (newer orders before older ones). I mean how can they decide to cancel orders placed in October, but still keep those of April or May? Is there a Czech worker pleading: "Boss, please!!! Let me keep working on this car! I've been working on it since last April, I beg you - let me finish it!!! Cancel that new one, I haven't started working on it yet..." ??? To me it doesn't make any sense... unless they have a "wheel of fortune" in a marketing office somewhere to decide what&when gets built. @Dado82 I'm really curios: does the dealer provide any kind of "proof" for the โ€œunable to deliverโ€ clause invoked by the Factory? Or they simply notify you via phone or email? @buzcro Congrats on your new car! Mazda3 is a great looking car, and almost sure - less software-buggy.
  22. No, as in any other car, the pollen filter is on the main air intake, so it filters all the air pushed in by the vent (dust, small insects, whatever impurities get sucked in)
  23. ๐Ÿ˜… BSOD (blue screen of death - for the Win98/XP nostalgic) - that's what was missing from Octy's mk4 software... ...both virtual cockpit and multimedia at the same time - that would be the cherry-on-top!!! Someone should add it to the suggestion list of the IT division @Skoda... Time is not lost - they can add it once they launch the mk4.5
  24. Sure, the backlog is not helping their cashflow; however, a cancelled order is great news for their profit... You canceling at the dealer's doesn't mean the order is cancelled at the factory. With an unknown delay the car will arrive at the dealer, who will be able to sell it immediately with the prices we now see on the CarConfigurator. However, the price he will pay to the Factory will be the one contracted last summer (when you placed the order) - hence a net profit of several kEuro. Not saying you shouldn't have canceled; I completely understand your personal reasons. It's one of those cases when you shouldn't wait, but make a decision. And as I said before: not having any info from the dealer, is far worse than knowing you will be delayed for N months.

The source is this one (already used on this topic a few times) - and it seems to update quite often, I checked it: https://www.marnet-mobility.de/aktuelle-lieferzeiten.html As I mentioned a bit earlier, I only took the minimum value (all VW cars are indicated as "from X months", so I mentioned X). For Octavia they also say "from 10", but we all know it's not the case... Except a few isolated cases - if I remember correctly you're one of the happy cases? People who ordered Octavia in March.2021 might not be too pleased with last week's fire... they're looking at a 1y+ delivery. And at the time of the order, the delivery time on the Contract was waaaay below 1y. When I placed the order in Aug.'21, the Contract Draft was showing "25-35 weeks delivery". By the time I made the payment and arrived at the dealership a couple of days later, the Final Contract was saying "35-45 weeks". Do I believe that 45w today? definitely NOT!!!
