  1. 312's? As far as mods are concerned they're right up there with the best. Don't hesitate!!!
  2. My Furby vRS is now 4 years old, 38K miles and having trawled the local dealer and independent sources I settled on main dealer (Henry's, Glasgow) at £289.00. This price includes the t/b kit + water pump + auxiliary belt and a 2 year guarantee. Incidentally, one independent, for same package but without guarantee quoted £390.00, so it's not always the case that the independents are cheaper. Must say, in their defence, though, in my experience the indys are usually significantly cheaper. Why Henry's are so competitive on price on this occasion, I don't know but that's what I'm paying. Goes in tomorrow.
  3. I've got 205/40/17 Falken 452's on my Fabia vRS - fitted with 17" mk1 Octy's - and I'm really pleased with their all round performance.
  4. Had similar issue and source was high-level brake light. Is that the LED's the guys are referring to, above?
  5. Got one replaced under warranty. Had very similar bubbling to yours. Should mention that Park's, Hamilton rejected my claim but Henry's, Glasgow contacted Skoda UK and hey presto, new wheel, no sweat.
  6. Thought I'd post this pic for the benefit of those who have almost forgotten what a Furby looks like when clean Wee tree is looking pretty good as well, don't ya think?
  7. Great choice. You'll love it. Black's the colour BTW. Don't listen to anyone else who's otherwise minded. They're prejudiced
  8. Almost certainly by Transcal. They did my Furby and the panel design is identical. See MING's Fabia vRS in member's cars for pics. Definitely not Seat Surgeons. Edit: Thinking back to when they did mine, I'm pretty sure your seats were the very ones shown in Transcal's brochure.
  9. I felt, like you - the car seemed less torquey in normal driving mode. Have gone back to the standard 130 intake and sold on the 160.
  10. Radiator leak is most likely cause. Ah ha! The scum's on the outside. Ignore above.
  11. Sorry to hear of your problem, Steve. Hope you get it sorted soon. Too much tinkering, perhaps? Oops, I felt that. Good luck.
  12. Never questioned the standard spec until a year or so of ownership when I was confronted with an old couple stepping onto a crossing before the lights had turned to red. Stopped just in time but was seriously concerned about the vRS's braking efficiency. Soon after, changed to 312mm brakes; after running-in period did an emergency stop for comparison and was astonished by the improvement. So, to get to the point, my recommendation for your first mod would undoubtedly be 312mm brakes.
  13. Sorry to hear you're having problems, Skodaboy My experience (2nd winter) is trouble-free. Best winter car I've had, no question. Hope you get it sorted soon.
  14. Here's mine. Cut three 60mm holes in liner, trimmed the sides of the grill then positioned so that the louvres point downwards. Fixed with tork screws and u-clamps. I think horizontal/downwards position probably deflects spray more effectively than vertical/outwards position.
  15. Falken 452's are terrific tyres - wet or dry, and they have really good wear qualities, as well.
  16. Powerbulbs are giving 20% discount (+5% on Briskoda deal) up to 5pm Monday. Voucher code: SAVE20
  17. Got three sets of X-Tremes from Powerbulbs - set each for vRS, VW golf and Audi a4. Two sets were excellent, the other significantly less so. Returned this set and the replacements were excellent. So, there's a quality problem somewhere and this might just explain craig0031's "suck" comment.
  18. If it's had the belts done, a full SH and has no hidden gremlins that's a good deal.

  20. Hi Jason, I have an "I" which you are welcome to. PM your address and I'll forward f.o.c.
  21. Thanks, guys. Loads of informative stuff. I reckon the time has come to display the current corporate logo on car badging and ditch the laurel leaves. These are associated with ancient history and have no relevance in our modern high-tech world. Incidentally, I can't think of another company, irrespective of the industry, that has TWO logo designs - one for corporate branding and another, albeit of similar design, for product. Why go to the bother. It's kinda weird, don't you think?
  22. Does anyone know why the Skoda logo which appears on their brochures; letter headings, promotionals, advertising, showroom/dealer signs etc., etc., includes the wording " SKODA" on the top and "AUTO" on the bottom, yet on the car badging the "AUTO" on the bottom is replaced by what appears to me to be a crescent of laurel branches. No other car company does this, AFAIK. Anyone know the reason why?
  23. Read handbook for resetting (page 16, I think). Straight froward and takes only a few minutes.
  24. Thank you. It was only after much agonising that we decided on all-black. Think it's the classiest.
  25. Door cards not done. They are not normally an option from Transcal. No doubt, they'd do them, but at a cost. I'd probably have gone to Seat Surgeons had Transcal not been on my door step. Can't say I'm not pleased though with the quality of leather and workmanship(look as good today as they did when new - almost a year now).
