Are MK8 GTI brakes the same as a petrol VRS?
I think discs (rotors) are different part (on gti will be probably higher quality), but they are exchangeable. both are 340 in front and 310 in back

What tires on vRS model in 2023/2023 on 19 inches?
My RS 9/2021 had Eagle F1 SuperSport. On dry roads were fantastic, in corners was like on rails. Nevertheless on wet was not so good and the noise was absolutely unbearable. I decided to switch them after 1,5 seasson to the Eagle F1 Assymetric 6 and I am really pleased right now. On dry almost same/wet noticeably better and the noise is perfection... Cannot be more happy about them. I am little bit worried about the wear, but we will see... I would recommend it to everyone. Right mix between sporty and comfy tire

Windscreen Wiper Replacements
I would say, they are not symetrical... So I think you cant

vRS roof rack for bike/roof box - scratched rails?
I had bicycles on the roof. Cleaned the roof racks and the soft rubber end on the Original Škoda bars and anyway after I took them off, I can find some small scratches.. But whatever, its a car to be used... If it get worse, I think simple onestep polish shoud be ok for not much money before sale.

Aftermarket new wheels
19 wheel with DLC are completely fine... I do not see any difference in comfort. Right after change I observe worse handling, but it could be also winter tyres, not only 18 vs 19 wheels. But If it would not be so damn expensive (19" tires for Octavia with 19" wheels) i would have 19 also for winter.

Octavia VRS
In Czech there is definitely mandatory opf filter for new engines. In the specification of version "challenge plus" was explicitly said "sport exhaust for 2.0tsi" also in the article what I posted is written that it's made by Škoda directly and it's different from Stock one
-
Octavia VRS
Yeah, Škoda is basically tells no info about the exhaust and there is also no info (or i did not found any) in ETKA. Ill maybe ask my dealer next time, to check acc to my VIN code if they can tell mě the nunber of exhaust to be able to order some where.

Octavia VRS
Hi, the "stock" Octavia vRS has not so much of a great sound, but there were some limited editions, atleast in my country with Skodas own "sporty" exhaust - only for petrol versions. Some reviewer take the hifi mic and attached it to the car so you can hear how it sounds like. Sadly its in czech - but in the middle of the page there is a video, so you can check by yourself. https://www.garaz.cz/clanek/testy-toxicka-barva-a-instantni-ramus-to-je-recept-jak-ctvrtou-octavii-poradne-zatraktivnit-21008387 Its not exhaust noise like Golf R has or something like this... Its still a family car thats fast/good looking and will not ruin your wallet and with this sound is something like the cherry on top of a cake. Only sad thing is, that it has not movable flaps, so you can not turn it off completely, but with the easy driving around 1800-2500 rpm there is no sighns of the sporty exhaust at all Only when you pull the trottle down, its starting to telling you that is there . This special editions (different names probably in different regions) has only one noticable difference - exhaust pipes (black instead of silver).

Snow - How to turn of traction in the Mk4 menus?
Yes, just click on "SET" button and there is ASR off. Used a lot this feature lately with snow on steep roads

Who's got Hyper / Mamba Green VRS?
@GreenRichie I would sugest you to change wheels. Those Lyra 6,5J 17" are just too small for special car like this
-
Is there such a thing as...
Or you can just find someone who are putting PPF on cars near you and discuss with him just to put small PPF stripe like you post on the picture... should not be an issue

Who's got Hyper / Mamba Green VRS?
@Towelie Glad to hear, that there is another one Mamba Green friend out there :))) I think you did the right decison... The color is just awesome, every time I am going around car, I am glad we went for this color. Its so rare, that it shines up every parking lot :). And regarding resale value - imho gonna be higher than normal colors, because it will be rare. Race Blue is also awesome color, but its basicaly on every car from Škoda... I know I am a little late, but some of the pictures of mine here:

vRS Engine Cover Recall
I was asking mine two weeks ago and they dont know nothing. So I was writing mail to Škoda directly and beside some "automatic" reply, which is probably just copied from some one mail to another, info is, that we will be called out by our dealership... So we will probably need to wait a little more... I am still hoping, that skoda will not tell us, that we will lose it completely..

Remap / chiptuning available for the 2.0tsi VRS!
It is really tempting... need to check it again

vRS Engine Cover Recall
@TheUltraRunner I am now comparing it with photo of mine engine without cover and seems its same one... @bigreddognz the part number would be perfect If there is really new one, I am super curious, if Skoda will replace what they took from us, or just tell us to f**k of

Remap / chiptuning available for the 2.0tsi VRS!
@Boosted_Six I know I tought about it myself also. But I rather go for sound deadening, because even it has nice sporty look, for me its still family car
-
Remap / chiptuning available for the 2.0tsi VRS!
Are you all missing power? For me it seems that with FWD is 250hp like the reasonable limit... Of course more is better, but I would be afraid of lowering the durability of other engine parts. Same with DSG, which has limit aroun 420nm of tourqe.

Permanently disabling Engine Sound Generator
@Jorgeminator Because as I can see, you live in Finland. This mode, with drl/tail light always on is named (afaik) "Scandinavian DRL " for a reason :))))

VRS TSI estate economy
With driving on highways around 130-140kmh I have avg consumtion around 6,5l/100km (36mpg). With slowering to 110-120 i can get closer to 6 (39). With contryside driving around 80-90kmh I cen get even under 6 to like 5,8 (40-41). But you need to be calm driver and use the momentum of the car with less breaking and accelerating. So If you will enjoing the car you should count with more - closer to 30mpg. And in the city, with heavy traffic its around 20-25... My longterm consuption with City/Country/Hignways 45/20/35 is around 7,7L/100 (30,5mpg) and I am calm driver, using momentum, but sometimes I also loose the horses out in lower trafic . In my opinion its really efficient engine, with lot of power reserv for overtaking and so... vRS estate is for me perfect daily family car. Someting like RS6 Lite

Winter wheels
Škoda Rims/Tires should be 205/55 R17 6,5J ET46... Atleast on my vRS

Octavia VRS 245 FWD traction
"Normal quicker" start from junctions is quite ok for me, no issues, traction is good. With pedal hard on floor you get obviously quite a lot of wheelspin, but I do not that often... But best would be for you to try it somewhere in testdrive

Full matrix headlights - working as designed or not?
@timster thanks for checking this. Finally I know what do this setting

Full matrix headlights - working as designed or not?
Regarding the setting of the matrix "reaction speed". You were right, that sensor sensitivity is only for dark/light and when to turn on the headlights. But as I clicking through the individual drive mode setting, there is one item called "Light Assistant" and there is Sport/Normal/something... I dont know if its adjusting the "reaction speed" or not, I did not find it anywhere else in the settings of car... Anyways my working also good and its nicely see, that the light is usually turn of even before the car "hit" the lit area...
