Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
It’s easy to get round that with Cleanmydrive utility. I’ve updated from a Mac several times before so that isn’t the issue, I know the files that Mac’s add to a drive, it’s not those that I’m concerned about

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
I get exactly this, only the contents of those folders are completely different to 1941's so it's that that is troubling me. Ethernet switches and mercury. What's that all about?

Update of navigation maps
If you’re in the UAE then the UK map update portal probably isn’t relevant is it? Is there a Middle East Skoda portal? Perhaps your roads haven’t been updated since 2021 as dealer says. They’re gonna be region specific

Octavia IV 2021 juddering
Fault for sure. My iV is smooth as at any speed. Just a bit lurchy braking once the petrol kicks in as the regeneration isn’t as strong as pure electric braking

Update of navigation maps
Maybe, just maybe, by keeping the inbuilt maps up to date they might get the speed limit right in places where the car throws on the brakes when using travel assist. The other side is that the new 20mph limits in Wales are a nightmare with the car wanting to break the law at 30 when my traffic sign recognition misses a new 20 mph sign and the maps think it’s still 30. Sigh

Update of navigation maps
Correct. Confusing but that’s how the Skoda nerds do it

Update of navigation maps
The instructions online won’t win a crystal clear clarity award. But simply put in your vin https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/en-GB and download. Unzip and stick usb-c into one of the 2 front ports. And leave. It does it in the background whilst driving after a day or so. You won’t see any notification or status bar until the map ID changes to 23.12 or something like that to show it’s from month 12 of 2023

Help with updating info.System
The long saga of updates to MIB is documented in this thread Infotainment System Restarting endlessly. But as yours is so old there will be module updates needed as well (probably). So a visit to the dealer is in order to get to 1896, and then 1941 (1941 in theory will come OTA after getting to 1896 but some of us have 1941 to share. Read the above, it has many tales of easy upgrading once you are on 1896 with precise instructions how to do it

Octavia Phev stuck in Hybrid mode
When the ICE is on mine stays on (I think) Normal. The blue indicator appears, sometimes bigger, sometimes smaller whilst driving along Weird, not right. Time to visit dealer methinks. Sounds like high voltage battery acting up

Octavia iV SE L - Thoughts after 1 month
Im really curious to know why someone would buy a plug in when you can’t charge at home (on the cheap). As other threads here discuss the lovely low costs of running an iV short distances on cheap rate lecky and rarely visiting the petrol station

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
For those who haven’t read the whole thread. You must be on SW version 1788 or later already The full instructions are on page 26 supplied by @TheWanderer Read them first! Don’t just have a go to see if will work as you could brick your system But if you fulfill these criteria it is a 20 minute easy job that will make your car safe and a joy, at last

Mystery options in instrument display
It’s showing how much regeneration the car will do. Full battery and or cold battery can’t take much charge. Once you’re warmed up and have used some charge, especially in the summer warmth, it will show the full dial meaning the car battery is able to suck as much regeneration juice as possible. Took me ages to understand this. Same at the top of the dial showing how much battery utilise (before petrol kicks in)

iV Charging
Don’t put on electric demanding devices between 4 and 7, washing machine, dishwasher etc and reap the benefits. But a lot of peeps have to service the family in that time and won’t benefit. But empty nesters and the youthful can. £50 quid for you and me for joining up with a referral code from me lol

iV Charging
- iV Charging
Nothing in the car or Skoda app. But Octopus tell you through their excellent app. Go or Agile tariffs allow you to add car as a device, charge it automatically on cheapest rates overnight (Agile) or for 7.5p/kWh overnight (Go). Forecast very cheap tonight- Octavia iV Granny charging - How to get full charge
Nonsense. Mennekes type 2 cables are used on fast chargers. Our limitation is the onboard charger electronics- speed limit signs on sat nav
Indeed. It will only recognise traffic signs if you have that option. Otherwise rely on Apple or Google maps for speed signs. None of which are 100% reliable. The recognition camera will sometimes get fooled as does the inbuilt satnav sometimes reacting (braking unexpectedly) when using ACC. It’s the same culprit roundabouts on flyovers above the road I’m driving on that sets it off. Crappy mapping or coding?- VRS IV
Nope. Reverse is by shifting forward. Repeat the backward shift and you are back out of sports into normal- Octavia iV Granny charging - How to get full charge
Or get on Octopus Intelligent. They set the times and it’s never more than 7.5p. I think it needs a wall charger not a 3 pin though. Bargain- Octavia iV Granny charging - How to get full charge
Same here. It didn’t like an extension but was ok through the window. Have a proper wall charger now even though ours can only pull 3.6kW. Shame it wasn’t something that could be upgraded. A full charge in half an hour or less would be brill.- Octavia iV Granny charging - How to get full charge
Slightly non PC nickname for slow 3 pin plug wall socket charger- Calling iV owners, are MySkoda servers down most of the time or is it just me?
So can’t blame Skoda entirely. After their quick tech investigation, turns out it’s the Skoda Connect integration I was using with Home Assistant that was causing Skoda servers to disconnect, presumably as too frequent calls on the servers from the integration. Shame, but all is good again, just can’t use Home Assistant to automatically charge under a certain Octopus Agile price or ‘see’ the Octy in Apple Home app and programme automations from there anymore. Annoying.- Octavia - TSi, MHEV or PHEV?
Well I’m a big up for PHEV. If it’s mostly short trips around time then it’s fantastic. We’ve all got to think about adding a car charger if you can. Adds value to your house so why not green up. Octopus Agile tariff is awesome when it’s windy, you look forward to storms giving you free electricity for a few days driving. Free. Plus when you go away there is no range anxiety and a swift car. The battery collects energy braking and downhill to continue to give you that oomph acceleration that you expect from electrics. 2000 miles around northern Spain in July on motorways and mountains with 2 bikes on the back and a/c on most of the time with occasional charges only still gave 53mph. So I wouldn’t change. I love it now the software is sorted. Looking forward to storm B so much. Hope you can find the iV somewhere , mine was cheap on Cazoo ex-lease with loads of extras and most people are wary of change so there were no other takers- Calling iV owners, are MySkoda servers down most of the time or is it just me?
It’s been a few weeks that most days there are repeated spells of MySkoda servers being offline. To us iV owners it’s a complete ballache when we are trying to use it to charge the car. Especially being Octopus Agile and trying to use free electricity such as today with negative pricing (ie I’m paid to use their electricity when I charge). Is it just my app and car or is everyone noticing the same? Skoda support were quick to reply admitting to it: Recently we were facing some unplanned outages of ŠKODA Connect Services. But it’s still going on day after day and really pi%%ing me off now - iV Charging
