  1. Hi @Mr_Bigglesworth the DSG in mine is the DQ381 which from day 1 has been brilliant - no hesitation and smooth as butter. The 190 engine is the EA888 gen 3b which again IMHO is a great engine and in its 190 form barely stresses it through any type of driving. This engine has I believe a chain driven cambelt that requires a service NOW every 80,000 miles, If any of this is incorrect I am sure someone with more than my limited know how will soon be on to correct this. Hope this helps
  2. Hi, I drive a 2.0 TSI 190 Superb hatchback which averages around 32mpg around town and can get 45 mpg on motorway runs at sensible speeds ( 65/70 ish) Sorry haven't driven a 1.5TSI for comparison but what I can say is the 2.0TSI 190 engine suits the Superb with it being quiet and responsive, Hope this helps you a little
  3. I have a SE L Hatchback with the 2.0TSI 190 engine and DQ381 7 speed wet clutch DSG . The engine suits the car great with good power delivery and quiet. Only issue i find is if your mileage is mostly short town running you will be lucky to average much more than 32 mpg , however as @KeteCantek has said above on motorways and good dual carriageways you can see 45 mpg. Other than that the car has been trouble free Hope this helps you
  4. Cant believe how good the mud flaps are at keeping my car cleaner than normal considering the weather. First time I have had them fitted on any of my cars but now would be the first thing I have fitted
  5. Yes I agree but the OP car looks RHD ?
  6. TBO I thought it was only the left hand mirror that dropped when you selected reverse. Logic was that by dropping the nearside mirror on a RHD car you would see the where the Kerbside was when reversing,
  7. I have a 2019 facelift 190 TSI SEL hatchback and cover around 4k miles a year . My usage is around 70 % urban and 30% dual carriageway and over the past 4 years have averaged 32mpg. Under these conditions i find the engine ideally suited to the car being quiet and responsive enough to keep out of trouble if needed and not get into trouble if you see what I mean😁.
  8. I bought my 2 year old Superb via emails and would never do business just by phone. A good rule is phone initially then all transactions by email, it has literally saved me thousands of pounds when should problems arise later you respond back with the justification in print for your claim. In my experience people have a habit of false claims and untruths when knowing their is no record of the dealings of a sale, and want to use a phone to avoid leaving an audit trail
  9. I have a MY2020 SEL Hatch with both side covers fitted
  10. The new Next base dash cams have done away with the suction cup and now use an adhesive pad , I had the old Next base like yours with the suction cap that kept falling off, Now I have the latest one with the adhesive pad and so far (touch wood!!) its stayed put - no problem at all, Give Next base a call I am sure they will drop a couple of pads in the post. Also make sure the glass is dry and clean before fixing All the best
  11. The 2.0TSI 190 is a cracking engine and suits the Superb well. Its very responsive and quiet ,
  12. Have to agree with @Bap33 had mudflaps fitted recently and cant believe how clean the car keeps even through all this wet weather. Will definitely always fit mudflaps in future
  13. I changed my 19 inch tyres from OEM Bridgestone Potenza to Michelin Cross Climate 2 18 months ago, My average was 32.5 mpg under Bridgestone and interestingly has risen to 34.0 mpg with the Cross Climates. Another benefit was a quieter ride. Tyres were both standard 235/40 R19 and pressures were 36psi. Hope the above helps
  14. That would be great logic if you had not told everyone the facts in a forum!!
  15. Think you may be missing the point @310golfr, by taking your car in and getting the recall recorded in your service record .irrespective of what the dealer actually does you are covering yourself /the car should now anything untoward happen. You will have a problem with any insurance claim and when selling the car someone could flag up that it has recalls outstanding which could affect the decision to buy, Just a thought?
  16. Second what @numskull is saying - I have 19 inch wheels and when I changed the original Bridgestone Potenza to Michelin cross climate 2s the difference was startling - far far quieter and smoother than I expected. TBH I never would have believed that the choice of tyre could make such a huge difference . Motto for me is Keep the 19 inch wheels for the look and change to Michelin cross climate 2s for the ride.
  17. Sorry I worded that very badly - what I was trying to say that my SEL interior leather and chrome is as good as a new Mercedes E Class and a top of the range Volvo costing 50k+
  18. Hi @Bud totally disagree about the interior quality - my last two cars from new were Mercedes E class and Volvo S90 and the chrome and leather in my SE L is no worse than those.
  19. Just a thought , could certain drivers rest there hand on the DSG handle as a habit whilst driving and not realise they may be "picking at the handle?, I know it can happen on TV remote controllers -just ask my wife!!😁
  20. On my MY2020 build Amundsen MIB2,5 there is no b pillar button. You can disable interior monitoring /tilt protection via the infotainment menu or the short cut push the lock button twice within 2 seconds.
  21. Totally agree with @Shuggyboatsuperb I always have my MOT done at an independent before having a service with the main dealers
  22. Thank you for replying vegarz with this information. I bought the latest Skoda SD card with 2023 maps off Ebay for £20 last year and yes it works no problem. Cheers
  23. Hi Guys. Reading this thread its obvious that you know your stuff regarding updates. Do you mind if I hijack this thread to ask if you can help me to understand what system I have and how much out of date I am.? My car is August 2019 first reg on a facelift 2.0TSI Hatchback SEL serviced every year at the local main dealer - my infotainment is Amundsen MB2 /2.5 ? Screen says Device 565035874 Hardware H41 Software 0477 Navigation 5L0051236CR 1910 ECE AS 2023 Shield 2016-44 ( build 309) Can you tell me from the above do I have the MB2.5 Amundsen ( I have virtual cockpit if that helps!!) and am i up to date with softwar 1 am 73 so not good on this type of thing so any help would be appreciated Thanks
  24. Hi numskull. Today there were two other people waiting with me having their recall investigated. I drive a 2.0TSI 190 hatch and one of the others has a 2.0TDI 190 estate so I would assume the answer to your question would be yes, Petrol and diesel Cheers
  25. Had mine in for the recall today . when asked what was done the dealer told me it the protection mat has been re- fitted. I noticed on the record it says "recall 47U5 - criterion 1 " Cheers
