  1. Asked this in the Karoq forum and repeating here as might be useful for those buying any Skoda. Have an appointment in March with my local Skoda dealer as considering replacing our 2018 Karoq. Been looking at their on line car builder and can't see a way of adding a heated screen, I seem to recall from the time we ordered our current one that it was included in the so called 'winter pack' but that's now missing the heated screen as much of what was standard in that, eg heated seats and steering wheel, is now included on the basic model as standard but heated screen isn't listed. Can anyone who has ordered a Skoda recently let me know if heated screen is now standard?

  3. If as your user name implies you have a Kamiq you may wish to post in the Kamiq forum.
  4. I'm going to see them as planning anyway to change our nearly 8 year old Karoq.
  5. I spray my actuatorwith a silicone spray every month now just to keep it well lubricated.
  6. To replace it yourself see https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cmuF21KrB8w
  7. Not all are. My original ones lasted 3 years before they needed replacing.
  8. Never heard that at below zero temps
  9. Just on space, we have a 7 year old Karoq and a 3 year old Kamiq. We regularly travel to France, and now take the newer Kamiq. While the boot is slightly smaller we still manage to pack the same amount in and the mpg is far better, often 500 on a full tank.
  10. My Karoq 1.5 is also 7 years old, doesn't stall and never has. Always strange to hear that some have issues.
  11. I suspect it's the cold. May even still have some ice caught up somewhere inside. On.y way to be sure is wait until the temperature improves.
  12. This shouldn't really be a routine feature, dealers, like the independent I use, should be able to test the fluid and only change it when needed.
  13. I don't rely on the auto setting. Switch them on manually then you're in control
  14. As your garage advises this is perfectly normal. Same with satnavs, your ETA is constantly being adjusted as you drive. Your fuel range is too.
  15. I don't find it annoying. Too many things added to cars these days that are a waste of time and simply more things to go wrong. I go for the least specced model I can find, probably why our Karoq is over 7 years old and been bombproof, as is my 3 year old Kamiq.
  16. Same way before, blind spot checked by looking over shoulder. Even if my car had it I wouldn't trust it, and would still do a manual check.
  17. Should be able to use a bit of tissue to identify where the level is.
  18. You misunderstood my comment. I'm sure the behaviour you describe is alarming. I was simply saying you shouldn't need the car to tell you the speed limit, can't you turn that part off?
  19. My December 2022 Kamiq 1.5 DSG shows the gears.
  20. Shouldn't need the car to tell you the speed limit.
  21. No, for Dreal you'll need new headlamps. Since Brexit the advice has been think very carefully about taking a UK car to France as they now have to go through the same steps as cars coming from any non EU country.
  22. Karoq manual, Kamiq is DSG. No issues with either pulling away or stalling.
  23. Have run my wife's 7 years plus Karoq on cheapest E10 since we got it new, been bombproof, as has my nearly 3 year old Kamiq, also run on cheapest E10. My previous car, a 10 year old Ford Focus from new, also ran on E10. Needed front wheel bearings replaced but that was it, and still working fine with a friend of mine 3 years later. In my mind nothing wrong with cheapest E10 😁
  24. Our original ones lasted around 5 years before they needed replacing.
  25. You can change the fitting from the old blade to the new blade if it's simply the fitting that's incorrect? Done that before on a Skoda.
