  1. You are right. I will stay on that for sure. BTW, the cost for the new unit (not the screen) is 1.600 euros !!!!
  2. Hi, Today I dropped my car off at the dealership to have this problem fixed. They called me and told me they would replace the main unit of the infotainment system. They actually did. I picked it up and they informed me that the replacement was done. There was no other way to fix the problem. Even though 2 years had passed (that's how long the warranty is in Greece) they told me that the entire cost was covered by them. After 3 years, however, I would have a problem. I am sending 2 photos, before and after. you can see the differences in hardware and software. Newer hardware with older software version than what is available. It's 1969. Maybe 1989 would be appropriate, I don't know, I guess.
  3. So, today I had the car serviced. After I explained the problem with the infotainment and they looked into it, they informed me that the hardware needed to be changed. In fact, they told me that the screen didn't need to be changed, but the main MMI board that is behind the passenger compartment. They will report it to SKODA and wait for an answer about its replacement. It's the 2nd same problem they've seen, they told me.
  4. I'm tired of dealing with this issue anymore. I'll have the car for a little over a year, so I don't want to deal with it any longer.
  5. No, I didn't try it at all, I put it back under the radar. I gave up on the project. Thanks for the advice and help.
  6. Exactly the same problem as mine. At least for the infotaiment. I don't have a pano roof. I have an appointment on Monday for service and for this problem. Let's see what happens.
  7. Thank you for the tip, the link is for navigation maps upgrade. I don't have navigation at my car. And i can't find any other update on this link.
  8. Hello, still not found a solution. The last option is the dealer. I will set an appointment and i will inform you about the results.
  9. update: I pulled the fuses and after an hour I turned the electronics back on. Nothing different. The screen has reached the following level: It works, in the entire menu, normally, the sound is fine, the same with android auto. When the HOME button is pressed it gets stuck, and after 3 minutes it resets and starts a repeat process that ends, if I turn off the car, lock it and then get back in and start. Then it's OK. I tried to reinstall version 1989. It sees the installation files, but it doesn't let me proceed, since it outputs No in every row of files, as it realizes that they are the same version. Is there a way to trick this?
  10. Thank you for your answer. I have check for errors, with ODB11, nothing at infotainment. Errors at Telematics existed. but it was from the screen turning off, they also went out of order at the same time. I'll check it again to see if they came back. I removed fuse No. 30 for the MIB3 but not the telematics (No. 19). Good advice, I'll do it right away. Although I think the issue is on the screen.
  11. On Monday the infotainment inform me that a new update found and download begun. After the download was complete and I arrived at my destination, I turned off the power and got out of the car. The next day when I got in, it asked to start the installation, I accepted it and when it finished the installation, a series of repeated resets began as I was driving. There was no sound, so after 14 resets, the infotainment stopped working (thankfully because I was dizzy from the restart sound) Obviously something was wrong. When I got home and had time, I stopped to see what was happening. The user (me) had been lost and I had to go through it again. I did the procedure and thought that everything was over, as I entered the menus, adjusted the sound and put some FM stations in the memories. Everything seemed fine. But when I went to the main screen (HOME) it got stuck and after 1 to 2 minutes it reset. This happens as many times as it went to this screen, on the rest I see them normally. Sometimes the sound is not there, but this happens from time to time. Today the same thing again, it seems that there is some problem with this screen (HOME), when I get to it, it gets stuck and resets itself. This is the status of my software. What I thought about was reloading 1989 manually (that's how I had done it the first time.) Can the same version be done again in the same way we know as an update? Does anyone have any other ideas? What can I do before I end up going to the dealership?
  12. Octavia MK4 2023, with 1989 software version (manually upgraded) Some problem here. I don't mind, but I'm curious about SKODA's fix.
  13. Hi, please check this link
  14. No it isn't possible. The setting and the parameters are already there (in your car). But you have to pay to take license to use them.
  15. Update: I didn't do much with the 1st attempt. I took it out and opened it again. This time I put some cloth tape inside at the point where the plastics touch each other. With the 1st attempt it seems that the noise has improved a lot, the squeaks are completely gone. I don't think I'll bother with this again, the attempt was successful, even with the second one.
  16. Well, today I disassembled the unit. In my attempt to find the plastic joints and apply silicone or some fabric tape. I tried to put silicone on all the corners and edges, and in some places fabric tape. I assembled it and placed it in its place. I'm not very optimistic about the result, it continues to creak in my hands, not to the same extent, but it creaks. There are many points where the plastics touch each other, (this is how everything is connected to each other) I'll update as soon as I get a chance to drive it.
  17. Already remove the light unit thanks to your information. Thank you. Well, that's the noise I mean...
  18. Hello, i also expreriece the same noices from this unit. I was planning to remove the lighting unit and investigate where the noises are coming from. In my mind, it is the junction of the 2 plastics of the lighting unit (white with black plastic). I read this thread and got some ideas. The instructions for removing the unit from the roof of the car are very helpful. Anyway, I will update.
  19. Another attempt with another pair of used parts. This time with "Product origin assurances for the purchase" This time is going to be the last time, no matter the result.
  20. Are you sure about that? Faz4990E means that the unit is stolen ? Where i can find that information? If it is so, i will ask my money back from the seller.
  21. #2nd attempt Today there was an attempt to remove the Component Protection on the BSD radars. Error !!!! It seems that this retrifit is never going to happen. I'm disappointed.
  22. OK, 2nd attempt for BSD installation Used radars with index G The result (from the OBD11 perspective) Because the radars are used, they are already encoded and can be seen here: Next step, removing Component Protection... the most crucial step.
  23. Thanks, another question, were the radars used or new when you bought them?
  24. Do you live in Greece? If so, at which shop did you have the removal of CP and coding done?
