  1. Bought a straight- through exhaust for my Subaru Impreza many years ago from Hayward & Scott, they were somewhere in Essex iirc. That made a lovely noise, but then again the Impreza always had that great ‘boxer engine burble’
  2. Not having a 24hour clock means I’ll have to look through the windscreen now to see if it’s daylight or nighttime 😂
  3. I like those Velcro ‘stop your shopping bags sliding’ thingies. Simple idea but useful.
  4. Despite the auto setting facility, which I assumed meant the clock would automatically update twice a year, it didn’t. So adjusted it manually and like OP would have preferred a 24 hour clock but that doesn’t seem to be possible 🙁
  5. Perhaps change your username to Joe90? 😏
  6. There was no umbrella in our used 2020 Karoq, mentioned it to sales dept who said they’d source one. Which they did, but not the one that fits under the passenger seat, it was a bit big, so it lives in the door. Didn’t know about the torch, perhaps it didn’t come as standard on ours? Where would it live, perhaps it’s there and I’ve never come across it 😂
  7. Having had to get shot of the Freelander thanks to Khans ULEZ expansion I’d have loved to have moved to a Vogue or Discovery but getting one that was compliant would have been too costly; the other option would have been to have gone older but then there would have been the inevitable repair and maintenance bills 🙁 And there now seems to be a lot of these big 4x4s (RR, Hyundai Tucson as well) being stolen on a daily basis
  8. And odds on they spend money on mods rather than insurance and if they do pay insurance you can pretty much guarantee the mods aren’t declared
  9. 963 for my 2020 Karoq; only 637 for my old Freelander that I sold last year
  10. I’ve a Sportline; not sure that you can
  11. On the day I drove the Impreza I pottered down to the dealers and he gave me the keys and said take it for a run. So off I went and my oh my the sheer acceleration was astonishing. It was a ‘standard’ classic 2.0 litre which I think ran at about 235bhp and I’d never driven anything like that. The straights were great and it even straightened out the twisties 🙂 The Granada was a 3litre but never had anywhere near that power. After a few years I took it to a very reputable guy near Swindon and had it updated to about 285bhp and it never ever missed a beat from that day on. Moved on to a Forester which came with the same initial engine. It was always fun sitting at the lights in either, next to your hoon in his Corsa or Escort, waiting to race you up the road, only ever to always arrive a distant second at the next set of lights 🤣
  12. A lot of it was down to what I could afford and with hindsight I shouldn’t have touched a couple of them with a barge pole 😄 Still, you live and learn and over the years have had less issues with my choices. The Impreza still holds a place in my heart though for it’s sheer pace, road holding and that lovely ‘Boxer engine burble’
  13. Edit : Forgot my first transport, a Vespa followed by a Lambretta GT200 ! Then the four-wheelers - Triumph 1300, Vauxhall Viva, Datsun Cherry 120 coupe, Austin Allegro, Austin Maxi, Ford Cortina, Volvo big old estate model ?, Citroen BX14, Bedford Midi Van, Ford Granada Ghia. . . .then it all got serious Subaru Impreza Subaru Forester Land Rover Freelander Skoda Karoq
  14. I’ll confess to having been in the ‘modding’ brigade when I had my Subaru Impreza. Had it uprated to 285bhp which from memory was about 50 over standard, fitted a straight through exhaust but kept it to a sensible bore as it was my everyday drive and couldn’t have lived with the ‘boxer burble’ that would have resonated out of a truly fat exhaust. And the dump valve made a lovely noise when it was given some welly. So miss that car but sadly the practicalities of comfort took the better of me with my back and knees. Moved to a Forester which we kept as standard.
  15. I saw a smart Audi suv in a car park recently and noticed it had different centre caps to the wheels. Before I could check the model it moved off. May have just had special rims but there was something ‘different’ about the whole car. Do Audi have an ‘AMG’ type division?
  16. 260k miles, remarkable, a true workhorse. Talking Land Rover mileage there 👍
  17. Wishing you well with your new purchase. We moved to a Karoq Sportline a year ago, having given up a fabulous Freelander thanks to Khan and his wonderful ULEZ expansion which would have caught us being SE London / Kent border
  18. No idea 🤔
  19. I swapped the awful oem Bridgestones that were on our Karoq within a few months of buying it for CrossClimates2 which I’d previously had on a LR Freelander and Subaru Forester. Totally different ride now, no longer feeling every bump or hole in the road and considerably quieter as a consequence, no longer the constant ‘thump thump’
  20. There’s Marshalls, a dealership literally just over on the Dartford side of the crossing
  21. OP, perhaps it’s just easier to get in the habit of locking your car? How long does it take to touch the handle. Leave it unlocked regularly over here and someone will steal it 😂
  22. There must be another similar post running about Skoda Connect but I did say I’d be interested in just the mapping updates which according to Skoda shop only cost €5. However having shopped and entered the item in the basket, there seems no way to pay, UK doesn’t appear in the drop-down list. Anyone help? Thank you
  23. Anyone help on this? Eager to spend €5 😄
  24. ‘……when funds are available I will have some questions’. Doesn’t cost anything to ask, all free advice here 😏
