  1. I’d be interested in the traffic updates which as far as I can see from the Skoda Connect shop is €5. However, I can’t seem to be able to buy it. Put the item in the basket, I’m asked for my billing address but UK doesn’t appear on the drop-down list?
  2. Tending to agree with you, that’s one hell of a lot of damage for 50mph, especially if as suggested by OP it was a single car incident.
  3. At least that’s one patient that won’t have complained about the ambulance not being warm enough 😏
  4. Now here’s a stupid question, in the UK are we regarded as right-hand traffic?
  5. I’ve had a Sportline 1.5dsg for a year having been forced out of our beloved Freelander thanks to Khans ULEZ expansion. It was fitted with Bridgestones on 19in rims, an absolute horror show. Changed them to CrossClimate 2s within six weeks, absolute revelation; I’d previously had them on the Freelander and a Subaru Forester. I don’t have (at least I don’t think so) LA or TSR - if I do then I’ve never used either. No towbar fitted. I found the satnav system initially a pita, and that’s having come away from a Freelander 😄 I’ve always been in the habit of inputting the postcode as my destination but soon learnt this pinpointed me to the centre of the postcode, which worked if heading to say a National Trust site but not so clever if looking for a street somewhere in an unknown town. Now I input the street address (or sometimes the name of an attraction and town name) and have found this works well. I believe a few forum members living ‘in the sticks’ still have a few issues when they don’t have street names to work to.

    Talking about the option settings
  7. I contacted Škoda UK to see if this was a known issue, they simply referred me to the dealers as it’s something they believe that should be looked at under warranty. Did that, but as anticipated the dealers don’t want to know saying that the warranty department won’t cover staining and as there’s no record of there ever having been any protection applied to the seats they’ll not entertain any further investigation. So that may be that then? Seems it’s only an issue with the Sportline seats; are they of a different construction to other seats?

Makes accelerating away at junctions just that little bit quicker, more responsive
  9. I’m assuming the button you’re hitting is the one in the drivers door, which is where it is in my Karoq. If you don’t need or intend to use it at all I wonder if you could remove the fuse, unless that would affect the close button in the tailgate? I have no technical knowledge at all so may be talking out of my 🤬 but no doubt there’ll be someone along to put me right and offer proper advice 😏 Welcome to the forum by the way
  10. Generally if you access a reputable wiper blades website and input your registration it’ll show the various blades appropriate for your car

Given what you’ve said about the car selecting the best gearing, the rationale about why or why not to chose Sport on a motorway makes sense. I suppose the only obvious advantage of using Sport would be to give the car an extra ‘oomph’ when accelerating or overtaking at higher speeds

Mines a 2020 Sportline with the dsg box and has Eco, Normal, Sport and Individual settings

Following on from my initial posting I’ve been chopping and changing more frequently now across the modes, using eco for just popping around local streets, down the shops and then normal for most other everyday journeys. Sport I’ve saved for motorway journeys but have wondered how that affects mpg. For example we travelled probably 50 miles down the A2/M2 at the weekend, there was little traffic so pretty much managed 70mph for most of the journey, in sport mode. Would there have been any real difference in mpg had we run in normal mode? Without rerunning the exact trip, I’m not sure how we’d compare?
  14. It’s like those ‘slow’ documentaries they often broadcast 👍
  15. Recently bought a pair of fronts for our Karoq - input reg into website which threw up correct parts
  16. Welcome from a 2020 Sportline owner. Plenty of knowledgeable people on here, I’m not one of them though 😏
  17. And hello from a Karoq Sportline owner of just under a year. There’s many on here that know an awful lot, so just ask away. Don’t count me as one of them though, I’ve not a clue when it comes to anything technical 😂
  18. @Rooted, there can’t be many that don’t accept that air quality is important and I suppose one way of effecting that is to take all the smokey old exhaust emitting vehicles off the road. There was initially an emissions zone in central London but what upset thousands was the manner in which Khan applied its expansion to cover pretty much everything inside the M25. Although there was warning and the change didn’t just come in overnight, you can’t expect people with non-compliant cars to simply trade up for something that is. As has been said non-compliant cars tended to be in the ownership of the less well off who struggled to keep a car on the road in the first place and so to tell them that they needed to spend money, and a lot of money at that, didn’t sit well. Cameras have been thrown up not just at the edges of the zone to catch those driving in, but throughout the entire zone to catch anyone living inside and having the audacity to try and use their non-compliant car without paying the £12.50 daily charge. Many of these cameras are regularly being sawn down by ‘vigilantes’. They’re reinstated, only to be sawn down again. From a personal perspective I had a great 2013 Freelander, properly maintained etc etc which I absolutely loved. It was ok until ULEZ was extended to include my home address. This meant I’d have been paying £12.50 every time I moved it, to the shops, visiting my elderly mother, days out and such. We’d have probably been looking at £62.50pw so well over £3000pa. We bit the bullet and p/ex the car towards our Karoq. We could have kept the Freelander (with hindsight wish we had) and kept paying the charge as it’d have cost us less than buying the Karoq. However there were noises about what Khan might have proposed in future such as reviewing the qualifying ages to meet compliance so we reluctantly sold up.
  19. I bit the bullet and went with the plus plan. On the strength of what the dealer said servicing would otherwise be costing over the next two years it seemed a decent deal. I accept their pricing for plugs and filters is over what a normal person would pay but it’s more for the convenience and paying for the forthcoming work by DD may well prove better than trying to find £££ when the car goes in
  20. Go on, ask away, there’ll likely be someone here that will be able to answer it
  21. No compact umbrella in our used Karoq which we bought last year; dealer sourced one but unfortunately it’s a little too big to fit in the compartment under the passengers seat that’s there for that specific purpose. At least we got our umbrella
  22. We’ve the 2020 Sportline and must confess that I’d not noticed that problem. Will bear it in mind next time we use the satnav and report back. The only issue I really had was the system didn’t like postcodes insofar as it pinpointed the centre of that postcode. On the advice of members on here the work-around is to type in road names as the destination and that’s always worked.
  23. Since yesterdays post the dealers have confirmed the spark plugs now come in at ‘£150’ (clearly they’ll be fitting gold-plated ones) so it would be better to go with the plus plan as that’d include the air and fuel filters. Will then ask the plugs and air filter be done this year. As for the roadside, I have an email advising this is in place to November 2025 and asked that Skoda confirm this is indeed correct and will be honoured
