  1. i had this on a mk1 fabia after driving through a flood , not advice but what i did was to turn the car over with the ignition for a brief moment while the car was in gear and handbrake off ,it freed the clutch , once again though not advice
  2. i have a similar situation where the regens are triggered by calc soot so my tuner told me i either have a super clean dpf or somebody has driven a hole through it or damaged . i have finished a regen at that level but 8.5 is high and it was a trip where i couldn't get a decent run , the last regen finished at 5.5grams (i was on the a30 and a long uphill section) that gives me 300 miles to the next one btw my egr valve has been mapped out
  3. I have this and it's only £38 on eBay, diagnosis of abs and clears code, this was my fault edit 32 quid with code on eBay page now
  4. on my 3rd regen now, seems to be 340 miles ish between and the calculated soot 18 to 19g , it overrides the measured soot mass i think as that's nowhere near and my differential pressure seems to read ok. btw i don't have the emissions fix the vag dpf app has been invaluable to put my mind at rest, last time i just zeroed the trip and used the app after 300 miles , have also ordered a very cheap tablet so i don't have to use my phone I think using a tuner who really understands the dpf is a must with a map written to reflect this, one of my local mappers said there's no need to blank off the egr when deleted so i don't think he even understands how it works anyway its great to have the car back, btw still did 56 mpg during the regen run and i was trying to get that egt up , its not going to take long to recoup my mapping fee i have some ideas to get the calc soot algorithm to slow down so will keep updating here
  5. Well my first hurdle has pasted, will it regen, yes . it very much due one and the soot grams were getting towards the critical point. (vag dpf app) typically i was nearly at work and only managed to knock a couple of grams off so had to interrupt it (the field box went from 0 not regening to 1 requested ? to 10 interrupted, incomplete ? anyway i did the long way back home and as soon as i was on the A30 the soot flew down and completed before getting home. Anyway now its how quickly will the soot accumulate and regen again as 500 miles last time , i think the egr fault being logged so often has delayed this one.
  6. I think the mpg increase will pay for the remap if everything goes well longer term, this is from a return trip to Newquay, i usually see early 50s, obviously my cars enjoying not breathing exhaust gas
  7. yep will do, i will keep an eye on the frequency of regens ect, the warm up period seems no different and she drives really nicely ,i was going to do stage 1 but between us we decided on the blend
  8. well it lasted a long time but then tripped out the once , got me to work and back fine a and b roads ,then suddenly it went into limp and wouldn't even tick over without the flashing glowplug light'' so my hand was forced and I've had a performance economy remap with egr delete and physical blanking, i phoned up every tuner in Cornwall but wasn't getting the answers i needed , used these guys in Devon who came down to me i will maybe edit their name in at some point, The guy explained how the links to the dpf regen are dealt with and that they have done the same to the 1.6tdi before. Anyway i will keep the thread updated on how my dpf copes, it drives amazingly and averaged 57mpg on the last mixed urban/a30 run
  9. My ex has the 1.2tdi she's averaging mid 60s and has never noticed a regen so guessing it's never had the fix. I am using vag dpf now so get a warning when it's coming and how long since the last one. I would definitely swap my 1.6tdi with her the only thing better on mine is the panoramic roof
  10. Yeah very easy, the 1 way valve was £3.50 on eBay,I could blow through on both sides with the faulty one, The n345 was pretty cheap also Can't count my chickens yet but I have a useable car at the moment!!
  11. I've had 2 pretty long journeys now with no faults, also put some BP ultimate in (I know but....) The main things I've done so far is cut the ends of the n75 pipes so they are totally tight. Changed the n345 and also found the 1 way check valve wasn't working. Obviously I am not assuming I've fixed it but I want to make sure everything ( that's cheap) even vaughly connected with the egr is ok Edit and maybe more importantly I have pressed on the egr connection as well as I could just in case
  12. Interesting, mine is similar but its always ok when its cold , I've been looking in to the function of the n345 that i changed, so i believe it holds back the egr cooling circuit until its up to temp and was wondering if connected.(but I've changed as its cheap anyway) The positive side to these troubles is gaining more and more fragments of knowledge i guess
  13. well using a screen shot in my video i can now at least access the plug on one side, passenger side, damn that is restricted access there,
  14. Yeah similar quotes, as regards the other simulator option..... I bled all over the engine today, I had my hand down the back think I found the lead but no way any line of sight or a chance of touching the connector even got the phone on video and couldn't see it. I have probably spent a few solid hours looking!! I may get it on the ramps and see what I can see from underneath as it happened after a new steering rack. I was in wadebridge yesterday and the VW indie ( went to Lidl so had a stroll on ) there advised me to check that connection and if I wanted a diagnostic it would be £50
  15. yeah thanks this is awesome, i was checking routing from my n75 valve and having a screen shot of the pic came in very useful
  16. i put vag dpf on my phone today and was watching high pressure egr closing reading moving about, although i am guessing this is not the actual valve moving (i i think torque app shows this) the car drove great for 12 miles, i parked up and then limp kicked in after setting off again 2 hours or so later . At the moment i can do the roads around me fine but the motorway isn't an option my quote for a remap st1 or economy plus egr delete and blanking was £275 another guy was 100 quid cheaper but just said blanking isn't necessary and i thought it was if say the valve is stuck open.
  17. No big suprise my fault occurred again, I can do some fair miles before it occurs and heat seems to trigger it, I just have this nagging doubt it's not egr ( Foolish hope maybe haha) How the hell some of you get the connector of the egr to fit a simulator I have no idea can't get anywhere near it, put an air filter in today and even with the air box off I just can't. Mixed messages about tuning out the egr as seeing some who have regen issues after and don't really want to remove the dpf. The last few times it happened was on overrun, I believe the torque app gives egr valve info but also maybe the n75 isn't working as it should or maybe I am on the wrong track
  18. It's my ex's car but I will give mine a measure, it's all hand made by her, some more pics, the fact the seats lift out is great for me Whoops picture mistake
  19. It's a few threads down , indicator glitch, basically it's becoming better over time so I live with it, maybe I had moisture on the bcm don't know but I miss the days of just plugging a new relay in !!
  20. Bah still not getting notifications, the ones i meant is the main earth from the battery and one from the body to the engine block its probably rubbish advice but i went on an earth hunt with my indicator problem , its amazing how the infomation i was after just didnt seem to be on google, i miss the physical haynes manuals as well tbh
  21. I wish it was possible to get my old sdi mechanicals in my Roomster !! the practicality is amazing for me, i get 2 big dumpy bags (the empty 1 tonne type) of garden waste in there, i have the use of a day camper base my ex made for hers. She is so temperamental though I've had dpf light, indicator glitches, random abs fault, random egr fault my ex has the greenline 1.2 tdi though and had no issues and stella mpg one positive thing is i am learning lots of new things about these emission devices, when i was a Ford apprentice the sierra was just arriving on the scene so the only diagnostics was the sun machine, diesels were pretty rare also .
  22. On my old fabia I had to re fit the same.one about 3 times before it worked I can't remember if it's because I fitted in the relaxed or pressed in position, I vaguely remember a thread about it ,but at first I got nothing but after trying again it was fine
  23. Fault free still since the vacuum solenoid and thinking about restricting the egr flow to the point where no light is put on (badly phrased, just until the light doesn't come on) just to give it chance for my snake oils to clean, if only slightly that area, Also going to set up an old phone to run dpf software to tell me when a regen is due and finished,
  24. This probably wont help apart from a bump but on my intermittent indicator fault i started on the first process in the chain and that was spraying the switch with electrical cleaner ,then i looked under that fuse box to check connections to the bcm ,i also did a phone video to have a good look around where ii couldn't see. then i checked the earths i could find ,the obvious main one ,and one on the inner wing down below the battery
  25. yeah this was a while back, the sdi is long gone, i removed the old grommet fitted the first gear getter, before it came i wrapped gaffer tape around where it lives still not getting notifications, really annoying
