Current Map Version / Navigation Database Number?
I had already checked the portal, which I had gleaned from searching the group, and had the following info "ECE 2023 Valid Since CW 45/2023" The way Skoda present the version number is slightly off compared to the way the Infotainment system does - unless 45/2023 is the current version which doesn't sound entirely correct but maybe it is hence the query? As far as repeat posts - I have used forums for years and that's just the way they work - we are imperfect humans and whilst searching gives results sometimes you just want a very specific question answered that doesn't get lost in a multiple posts thread, There are always new members joining on a daily basis and the same questions will inevitably come up repeatedly. Indeed, the longer you are a forum member the more aware of this you are but for a new member they are reaching out to solve a particular issue that is new to them Honestly, I wouldn't let it bother you as it's all information that will come up when member searches the group - I actually find it useful bouncing between different threads discussing the same / similar topic as often different perspective get revealed.

Current Map Version / Navigation Database Number?
I'm currently on 23.11 - does the numbering scheme relate to year and month i.e. November 2023?

Current Map Version / Navigation Database Number?
What Navigation Database version number is the most up-to-date / current? UK based if that makes a difference. Thanks

Infotainment Issues - Booked In To Skoda Workshop - Any Advice?
Almost three weeks since the updates applied to the car and it's all been working perfectly well - the difference between before and after is like night and day. If it remains this way I am now very happy.

New update today
Since the Infotainment software was updated to 1941 and SOS Module firmware was also updated it's all been good (touch wood). Whilst the selling dealer should have updated the software (as per Skoda Approved Car policy) prior to me buying it I count myself fortunate that at long last there is a relatively stable software version available. Reading this forum the whole software debacle dragged on for far to long with no resolution and clueless Skoda UK and their dealer network causing a lot of stress for Octavia MK4 owners. This forum was invaluable as I read multiple postings so when I turned up at the dealer I was fully armed in exactly what I believed they needed to do which was primarily "Don't just update to version 1941, also check the SOS Module firmware"

New update today
According to ŠKODA…… Over-the-Air Update Functional restrictions Škoda Connect Over-the-Air Updates are sent to the vehicle via Škoda Connect: Online System Update service. An Over-the air Update can be delivered to the vehicle only if: • The vehicle has a primary user, in which case the vehicle is visible in MyŠkoda for the primary user and primary user is visible in the vehicle (Menu -> Users). • Online Mode is enabled (ON) in the privacy settings (Menu -> Users -> Settings). https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/over-the-air-update-restrictions# My car couldn’t be linked to any account, no primary no nothing so couldn’t add VIN to my garage. Combined with a multitude of other issues I Spoke directly with ŠKODA who said I wouldn’t be able to receive OTA updates if the car wasn’t linked so would need to go into the workshop. Has to do this anyway so they could update the SOS module firmware.

New update today
I agree - recently has the 1941 update applied at dealership on my “new” used car as I couldn’t get the OTA on account of not being able to become primary user. Literally come from the most unstable Infotainment system to a stable one so would be very wary of applying a new update in case it all goes South again.

SOS Module Error
Not sure you can set up Primsry user with one key - I thought you required two keys? Very annoying that the dealer wasn’t more thorough in resolving your issues.

SOS Module Error
Since they updated the Infotainment software to 1941 and updated SOS Module firmware the difference to before is like night and day. All working as expected

Virtual Cockpit & Screen Button Remain Illuminated After Locking Car
This seemed to happen for a day or two but then stopped and everything now working as expected wether I have key on me or not.

SOS Module Error
See attached. This was posted by another Briskoda poster on another thread so thanks to them. TPI_2065556-10.png.5d4f06e59cfc0299d190c193b46a2866.pdf

SOS Module Error
Ahhh, misunderstood, so waiting for new SOS module to be fitted? Fair enough, I guess you could push them for the 1941 update at the same time so you don't have to wait for it to come around. Sorry, misunderstood - you are awaiting the SOS module to come in and be fitted? I guess you could ask for the 1941 update whilst it's in the workshop?

SOS Module Error
Definitely go back and insist on the 1941 update and make sure the SOS module firmware is updated. I think your breaker is being a little “lazy” - I would argue it’s a safety issue. Mine has gone from totally troublesome to no faults at all (so far)

SOS Module Error
My 2021 registered First edition, purchased in October this year, had this issue on virtually every journey (along with a whole host of other Infotainment problems) so took it into the dealer with a complete list of issues, a print out of what seemed like the relevant Skoda TPI, and precisely what I thought needed doing which was updating to software version 1941 and also ensuring the SOS module firmware was updated. The dealer updated me to 1941 and also updated the SOS module firmware and, touch wood, have had no issues since it was done a week ago (done two long journeys and commutes). The dealer did say that the updates should come OTA but I think my extensive notes made them feel obliged to do the update themselves. I guess see if you have trouble free driving with the work they have done and if issues persist insist the dealer sorts it out.

Infotainment Lights problem
Did you get this resolved in the end? Did it require the Škoda workshop to do some work? Mine has just started doing similar after updating to software version 1941. When I lock the car the virtual cockpit reverts to the display of speedometer / Revs and stays illuminated for approx 1 min then that eventually switches off and the infotainment buttons light up and stay on constantly. Weird behaviour.

Virtual Cockpit & Screen Button Remain Illuminated After Locking Car
Beginning of the week got my Infotainment system updated to version 1941, along with the SOS unit firmware being updated, due to a whole list of issues (including unable to become Primary user). Whilst this has seemingly been a success I think a new bug might have been introduced. Now, when I lock the car the virtual cockpit lights up with the speedometer / rev counter display and stays illuminated for approx 1 minute, then that turns off and then the buttons (Menu / Home etc.) around the Infotainment main screen illuminate and stay on constantly. Parked the car last night when I noticed this new “behaviour” and confirmed this morning that the button lights were still lit. Whilst the draw of the battery is likely minor it still doesn’t seem to be correct behaviour? Occurred to me that perhaps an OTA map update might be in progress and wondered if that may change how it behaves but can’t confirm if there is an update happening. i did find a post reporting similar behaviour but seemed inconclusive so wondered if anyone had any insight.

New Octavia - Central Armrest Ratcheting Issue
Slight, but related, tangent. What's the movement needed to raise the height of the central armrest. I had it so it was nicely raised and extended enabling you to rest your arm on it which was good for a long drive but weirdly can't seem to do it now. Thinking about it I'm not sure mine makes a clicking sound when you pull it up (I'll have to check) so possibly is related?

Remote Lock / Unlock Feature via MySkoda - Not Available On All Models?
After verifying my ID at my Skoda dealer I noticed the Lock and Unlock Feature wasn't available on the App so I have been in touch with Skoda Connect who confirmed that my ID had been verified but then stated that remote lock and unlock was not available on my model of Octavia. They gave me a link where you could enter your VIN which seems to confirm this: https://availability.skoda-auto.com/004/en-com#/ It's not really a big deal but I have an Octavia Estate SE L First Edition registered in January 2021. I thought that this feature was a pretty standard one, especially on the SE L Trim level, and also as the First Editions included a few extras on top of the regular SEL trim. Also, the fact I can remotely "Honk & Flash" (with the appropriate subscription) yet not remotely lock and unlock seems just odd. Is it a feature they introduces later in the MK4 production run?

Updating Maps - Which USB-C Port?
I though OTA map updates were only on a paid for subscription plan?
-
Updating Maps - Which USB-C Port?
Seems a simple question but to do a map update via a USB-C card reader do I just plug it into one of the two usb-c ports in the centre console? I was expecting some sort of port in the glove compartment or even on the screen itself and had assumed the two ports in the centre console were just for charging. Is it worth doing the radio stations update or would that have been covered by the 1941 update?

Infotainment Issues - Booked In To Skoda Workshop - Any Advice?
Apparently they have updated the SOS / OCU unit firmware to the latest version, which the Mater Tech said has been proven to be solid compared to another version that was circultaing previously, and they have updated the software to 1941. I guess that's all they can initially do. Next few days city driving and a long distance trip on Friday and Sunday should test it out.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
That's encouraging. My SEL First Edition is in the workshop today to get the 1941 update (was unable to get OTA as one of the issues was not being able to become a Primary User). Long list of issues with the Infotainment system but really hope this sorts it out.

Infotainment Issues - Booked In To Skoda Workshop - Any Advice?
Car is at the dealership today - I printed out a full list of symptoms, referred to the TPI and printed that out, also suggested that they may need to update the SOS module firmware (or even replace it). Let's see how it comes back.

Infotainment Issues - Booked In To Skoda Workshop - Any Advice?
Anyone think there's merit in turning up at Dealership armed with this TPI: Basically want to let them know that I won't be fobbed off with half arsed solution.

Infotainment Issues - Booked In To Skoda Workshop - Any Advice?
Exactly my worry, it comes to something when you have there's such a dis-trust in the dealership network that you assume they will do the bare minimum and fob you off. I guess it varies between dealership but I also find if the workshop is busy then service levels drop dramatically.
