Superchips Bluefin map
Ciderspace replied to Ciderspace's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
You can't apply the map to more than one car, that's for sure, the bluefin knows whether the map has been applied or not. My question is whether the map that is on the bluefin (previously applied to my car but removed) would work on anther identical model? If so then it's a cheap upgrade for someone. It's quite possible Superchips have sussed this but I can't find any info on this, not without asking Superchips direct of course. -
Superchips Bluefin map
Ciderspace replied to Ciderspace's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Is this worth trying? Someone bring me their VRS, plug in bluefin, apply map, if it works, then all good and can advertise accordingly (having removed the map again of course coz I know one can't keep reapplying the map to loads of cars). If it doesn't work then keep the bluefin in case I change my mind about wanting more power.. Any volunteers willing to travel to saffron walden? -
Superchips Bluefin map

Crikey that was quick! -
I wondered if there was any interest in this? Had a bluefin map on my pre FL VRS TDi Mark II estate (purchased new in November 2007) but removed it prior to sale in March of this year. It cost £300+ back then (think I bought it after I'd covered 1000 miles) and never had any trouble. Made a big difference in all areas, even mpg, where I was getting over 50mpg all day long. 0-60 came down to around 7.5, perhaps quicker what with almost 200bhp. The shove from the pd engine was immense I was going to return it to Superchips for a 25% discount on a replacement for my new mark 3 Elegance but I've decided 150bhp is enough for me. My question is, would it just work on another Mark II VRS TDi? I believe it would but if anyone knows otherwise please advise. I'm going to try the classifieds first (no idea what to ask, £100?) and/or an eBay auction. Any advice appreciated or if someone wants to make me an offer I'm all ears... Sorry if this breaches any rules. I am a freedom member so could just post on the classifieds but figured worth an ask first. Cheers.

I use a 64Gb card, someone on here uses a 128Gb - no issues.

Nov 2013 Amundsen Update Bug
Ciderspace replied to drewpost's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Just copy the files to the SD from your Mac as normal then download Cleanup SMB (it's free) and allow it to work its magic, job done. No need to use a PC. -

Those little blanks have been bugging me for the last 3 months too! Just downloaded and run Cleanup SMB over the Skoda Nav SD, put it back in the car and road names now appearing properly Cheers -
What about the things that annoy you?
Ciderspace replied to Iamholam's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
My minor annoyance comes when I unlock the doors the alarm beeps twice - fine. But then if I use the key to unlock the boot, it beeps twice again. Do they all do this? I know I can disable the audible beeps but it's either on or off, no options. Is there a VCDS change to solve this? It's the small things...... -
It's arrived :) now just rambling :)
Ciderspace replied to meb90's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Lovely wheels those CVR 105. Could see them looking lovely on my Candy White Elegance but in Black - would finish off the look nicely. Id need a brake upgrade too though! -
Can someone test this please? Seems odd but with the air con on and all ventilation slots fully closed (ie turn the wheel until it clicks) I can still feel slight air coming through the vents. More so from the centre two and less so on the outer two. Surely not normal? When the vents are closed, it should be just that, shouldn't it? Never experienced it in my Mark II. Thanks

Columbus SatNav Woes....
Ciderspace replied to WillieHeck's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I had a similar experience navigating to Peterborough a few weeks back.made the journey 30 mins longer.. Turned out I had inadvertently set the "avoid motorways" option in the infotainment - doh! Unchecking that option in the infotainment saw it happily select motorways and ever since. I was much relieved as was missing my TomTom! -
Ive got a set available on the classifieds - used but plenty left - from my years with a mark II VRS.. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/347654-rubber-mats-and-race-blue-paint-set-for-sale-mark-2-pre-fl-octavia-estate-vrs-tdi-estate/#entry4192837

On the Skoda UK website the brochure is now dated "Effective April 2015" (previously Jan 15) but no change to the spec that I can see - despite the configurator showing ACC and Park Assist additions to Elegance spec as mentioned in another post. Same old MIB I too.

It has indeed been updated with these options - nice spot Aurial. Not sure the price has changed though. -
How 'detectable' are Stage 1 tunes on the Mk3?
Ciderspace replied to Diango's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
What about the Superchips Bluefin remap, can that be detected say if one removes it before a service?
