  1. I can confirm Kieran @East_Yorkshire_Retrofits is a cool guy, knows his stuff and will be only too happy to help. Had my Octavia in with him a while back
  2. Are you left with any warning lights on?
  3. Try this:- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MfF4R7Jj_lDF7QyKjQwJm6syFkzt5Gr6/view
  4. Unfortunately it was over 18 months ago now, and I no longer have access to it Have you checked all the links in this forum? Do a search for 1985 and it should take you to them
  5. I went straight from 1896 to 1985 and everything went fine
  6. Have you looked at the app settings?
  7. I have traffication, mine doesn't give me notifications as such but it does work, as in shows me where roadworks are etc. I get an audible warning when I drive by a nearby ferry terminal, but not sure if that comes from traffication or navigation? The only thing I can suggest with the service campaign, would be to sit in the car for an extended time and see if it completes. My shop update has been installing for the last few days now, but I'm only currently making short journeys. Another user I speak to frequently on here has told me the same update took a full 30 minutes to apply in his car, without any interruptions
  8. Seems you have an Octavia 4.5 whereas I have a 4, so our MIB's are different, however, I can't be sure but it could be traffication only gives audible warnings when navigation is in use? As for the app update, I currently have a shop update which is taking a while to install. Just got be patient
  9. Only had an issue with my alarm once, it was just after I'd had it in for MOT. Took it out on a run the next day and, when parked, the car was unlocking itself and the alarm went off a couple of times. Thankfully I have the connect app which alerted me to it as soon as it happened. It only lasted for that day though luckily, I too thought it was something to do with the battery, had it been disconnected during its MOT? The truth is I'll never know.... 🤔
  10. You'll have to let us know if there is a 1999 update
  11. You can feel the difference between normal and sport mode, mainly through the steering IMO. I usually use sport mode if I'm carrying passengers front and back and I'm out on a run, just makes the steering feel more weighted and secure. Haven't bothered with ECO or tried to customise my own
  12. As far as I'm aware, you can't unlock SFD2 with OBD 11 just yet. They're meant to be working on it, but I haven't heard anything about it going live
  13. That's from an octavia 4.5 by the look of it, won't fit yours
  14. Lots of threads on the subject in these forums mate. Perform a search for the word infotainment and it should take you straight to them
  15. I didn't experience these issues myself fortunately, but have read through countless posts on here from those who did. And yes, it would seem ghost touches is quite a common symptom of the problems some people had or are still having. Just depends on whether or not you think 600€ is worth it, to stop the hassle. That is actually cheaper than I'd thought it would be
  16. I didn't even realise your rear parking sensors applied the brake! Unless it's model specific
  17. Do you have a codec pack installed on your PC? I've used K-Lite for years, it's compatible with all kinds of file extensions. Could be worth trying to install that then see if you can view media on your PC
  18. I'm pretty sure I've seen VAG 18" space saver wheels on resale sites in the UK such as eBay, I could be wrong
  19. I take it you've read through many posts on here detailing these issues. I'm not sure software updates alone can help fix your problem, from what I gather a new screen (head unit) is needed, which isn't a cheap fix unfortunately.
  20. I'm after one which has parking mode, so needs to be connected to a power source at all times. The USB socket only works when the ignition's on I believe
  21. Has anyone ever used Halfords for dashcam fitting? Was considering a nextbase myself, but want it hardwired if I'm gonna get one...
  22. If you have access to ODB11, there's a setting you can adjust to prevent this. It's never happened to me, but I did alter the setting to prevent it just so it never does.
  23. From my own experience, either excessive dirt or cold weather can interfere with front or park assist systems, and not just on Skoda's vehicles either. But mine is like yours, it'll come on then go off very shortly afterwards. The only difference I can pick up on going off what you've said, is that I can identify that 90-95% of the time mine comes on is when it's been really cold overnight and I drive it first thing in the morning. The other 5-10% of the time is when the roads around where I drive are really dirty. Tend to feel the same way regards ownership as you though, I too bought mine as I really liked the new design, and was impressed by the impressions previous marks had made on their owners. But due to discoveries I've made since purchasing I wouldn't be as keen to buy another Skoda. A lot of the bugs suffered by mk4 owners seem to have been ironed out in the 4.5, but even the new tech looks to be causing issues. Not sure I could put up with constant warnings over speed limits which the car has wrong, or switch back to manually disabling lane assist each and every time you get back in. Switching that off with OBDEleven in my mk4 was a godsend for me, as were a couple of other minor adaptions I was able to make. The 4.5 has SFD2 protection, which prevents you being able to make adaptions from what I can gather. To be fair we shouldn't need to make adaptions through a separate device, these things should be customisable in the vehicle settings as standard. But hey ho, I'm just an owner, not a manufacturer....
  24. Does that occur more in cold weather than anything else? I have it pop up when the temperature's been really low overnight, probably due to component freezing, it clears itself after a short drive. I too have a 20/21 Octavia, but thankfully it seems my screen unit was replaced before I bought the car. It's listed on its digital certificate as a repair made under warranty, so I haven't experienced a lot of the more major faults others have, although it would appear the original owner of it did. Agree it's shambolic of Skoda to treat customers in this way. I had an issue with an airbag warning light that came on after a flat battery lit up a host of warning lights, but the airbag one wouldn't switch off. Turns out it was an issue Skoda were aware of, had created an update to fix, but had not released the update in an official capacity, meaning it was somewhat hidden from view. This was seemingly due to the fact that when owners went to Skoda with the issue, they'd charge them for a replacement module, when in fact a quick module update fixed it. Appalling craic, but a sign of the times we live in I'm afraid.
  25. Not high beam in fog, fog's come on with high beam, as spotlights. Pretty dark where I live, the added light is a bonus
