  1. Has anyone ever used Halfords for dashcam fitting? Was considering a nextbase myself, but want it hardwired if I'm gonna get one...
  2. If you have access to ODB11, there's a setting you can adjust to prevent this. It's never happened to me, but I did alter the setting to prevent it just so it never does.
  3. From my own experience, either excessive dirt or cold weather can interfere with front or park assist systems, and not just on Skoda's vehicles either. But mine is like yours, it'll come on then go off very shortly afterwards. The only difference I can pick up on going off what you've said, is that I can identify that 90-95% of the time mine comes on is when it's been really cold overnight and I drive it first thing in the morning. The other 5-10% of the time is when the roads around where I drive are really dirty. Tend to feel the same way regards ownership as you though, I too bought mine as I really liked the new design, and was impressed by the impressions previous marks had made on their owners. But due to discoveries I've made since purchasing I wouldn't be as keen to buy another Skoda. A lot of the bugs suffered by mk4 owners seem to have been ironed out in the 4.5, but even the new tech looks to be causing issues. Not sure I could put up with constant warnings over speed limits which the car has wrong, or switch back to manually disabling lane assist each and every time you get back in. Switching that off with OBDEleven in my mk4 was a godsend for me, as were a couple of other minor adaptions I was able to make. The 4.5 has SFD2 protection, which prevents you being able to make adaptions from what I can gather. To be fair we shouldn't need to make adaptions through a separate device, these things should be customisable in the vehicle settings as standard. But hey ho, I'm just an owner, not a manufacturer....
  4. Does that occur more in cold weather than anything else? I have it pop up when the temperature's been really low overnight, probably due to component freezing, it clears itself after a short drive. I too have a 20/21 Octavia, but thankfully it seems my screen unit was replaced before I bought the car. It's listed on its digital certificate as a repair made under warranty, so I haven't experienced a lot of the more major faults others have, although it would appear the original owner of it did. Agree it's shambolic of Skoda to treat customers in this way. I had an issue with an airbag warning light that came on after a flat battery lit up a host of warning lights, but the airbag one wouldn't switch off. Turns out it was an issue Skoda were aware of, had created an update to fix, but had not released the update in an official capacity, meaning it was somewhat hidden from view. This was seemingly due to the fact that when owners went to Skoda with the issue, they'd charge them for a replacement module, when in fact a quick module update fixed it. Appalling craic, but a sign of the times we live in I'm afraid.
  5. Not high beam in fog, fog's come on with high beam, as spotlights. Pretty dark where I live, the added light is a bonus
  6. Not heard of many issues surrounding the facelift models (mk4.5), plenty of problems with the first phase of mk4's though. I own a mk4 SE L and find it really well equipped, has everything I require really although I too like the look of the new sportline. For practicality though I'd say you can't go past the SE L. One thing I noticed about the 4.5 sportline is that it doesn't have front fog lights. As I have the front fog lights on my mk4 SE L coded to come on with my high beam, I'd miss those personally. Have only ever seen DSG sportline's on sale too, do they do a manual version? I know they don't with the latest VRS..
  7. No, the search function is located at the bottom of the screen when viewing on mobile. Click on the magnifying glass icon and then type in 1989
  8. Are you referring to the infotainment software? If so, the latest version is 1989, and yes, there are links posted on here to D/L it. Search for a thread with 1989 in the title and you should find it
  9. Can't answer your question but I can confirm a very similar thing happened to me. I used to leave my key in my work jacket, which I'd put in the car as I walked past before heading in for debrief / wash etc. But then one day when I went to my car afterwards it had locked itself, and I had to go home and get my other key. I replaced the batteries in both of my keys afterwards, and it hasn't happened since. Mind, I've never left one unattended in my car since either... 😆
  10. Just you mentioned Bolero above...
  11. The links in this thread are for Columbus software I believe, not sure if Bolero updates have been posted, or even if they carry the same 4 digit reference as the Columbus updates (such as 1941)
  12. Has your vehicle recently been serviced? It wasn't a Skoda, but I once had a car beck in to the dealer for an issue which was present when I'd bought it. When I collected it, apparently fixed, I noticed a metallic rattling coming from under the bonnet. I pulled over and checked, to find they'd left a spanner under my hood! It was Snap-On branded though so I didn't make too much of a fuss, just kept it 😂
  13. I get the changing user settings message every time I start up, always have
  14. Have you checked the setting for automatic colour select or something like that? You might need to turn it off
  15. The only time I've had a similar email was after I'd done a factory reset through the infotainment settings, which I did after performing an update. Could be Skoda are messing about with something, who knows? Seems odd that it's happened to two of you around the same time...
  16. Have either of you recently been prompted to install an OTA update?
  17. Is it a full sized wheel though? Or space saver which most spares are these days...
  18. I've got a space saver spare wheel, which, along with the polystyrene tray which holds the jack and wheel brace, only just fits perfectly underneath the boot floor. Not sure a full sized wheel would fit tbh, as I did consider doing this myself originally
  19. Have you tried doing a factory reset in the infotainment settings?
  20. I was like the other user, would leave the usb plugged in for days but no change... 😕
  21. If it's still like that tomorrow, you could try disconnecting the negative terminal on your 12V battery and leave it for 10 mins or so before reconnecting. if it's a bug that may well clear it. But it could be it's fine tomorrow, the bugs on these things are totally unpredictable. I had a similar issue to that once, but it didn't last for a long, just a lot longer than it normally would (the loading settings screen) Had another one once where my car's time and date changed to 2047 or something 😆 I can laugh now, wasn't laughing at the time though... 😒
  22. To be fair I have infotainment online too, that must be where I get the map updates from, I thought it was traffication
  23. I managed to update my infotainment software via usb but the one thing I could never manage was to get the map updates to succeed, no idea why, I tried the process just as it was suggested. Caved and paid for the traffication app which means I get map updates OTA
