  1. Did you try clearing the codes to see if that helps? Sometimes with these glitches, a fault is triggered which can dictate the way the car behaves. If it is just down to a glitch though, simply clearing the code/s can bring the car back to life. If you have already cleared them and they've returned, then it's possible you need to do further investigation obviously
  2. It was originally in the MK4 forum, it's obviously been moved by a mod 👍🏻
  3. There should be a link on here for it somewhere, search through the entire thread from the beginning
  4. I wouldn't worry about it, maybe if you could contact a forum mod they could move the thread for you
  5. You've posted this is the wrong forum mate, this is the MK4 forum, there is a MK3 forum you should post it there
  6. I realise this is an old post, so not sure if I'll get a response, however... I have OBD11 Gen 3, and I don't have CD 12 or CD 13 as options... Does anyone know why this is, or if it would interfere with this coding potentially working on my 2021 mk4?
  7. If you use the search function in this forum, and search for 1896, you may come across an old download link for it, I'm not sure. Worth a try. Although, isn't 1896 for Columbus infotainment?
  8. That's what I was wondering, whether or not a software update would fix the issue. I had an experience recently with the airbag module, whereby, according to official Skoda documentation, I needed to have the module replaced, which would have proved expensive. However, it turns out a software update on the module fixed the issue. This is/was obviously known to Skoda, as they (covertly it would seem) released the update. I say covertly as they never made it part of an official update package apparently, which makes you think that this is deliberate behaviour on their part as they obviously make more money on (allegedly) replacing modules. It has me wondering whether or not this is something they do? So let's say I had gone to Skoda who would have insisted they'd need to replace my airbag module... I've no doubt I'd have been charged as such, but would they have actually done it? Or would they have just applied the update they knew about but didn't officially release which fixes the issue I had without replacing the module, although of course charged me as if they had? One thing's for sure, with everything that's gone on with car manufacturers in recent times, I wouldn't trust them one bit. I genuinely wonder if this is a game they play with us owners. As with @tdi2529 , did they really replace his module, or just apply the software update which fixes the issue? Although keep up the pretence that they'd replaced it in the hope that one day they may return with another faulty module needing "replacing"....
  9. Are you still within warranty?
  10. Do you know if your software (across all modules) is up to date?
  11. Quick google and it seems it was a common fault on the 2021 Golf, with mention of a faulty (telematics?) control module... From my own personal experience, I'd be keen to do more digging before believing that. Just recently I had an airbag light triggered by a flat battery that by all accounts showed up as a faulty control module. Turns out the module software needed updating to the latest version, once this was done, the light turned off and over a month later it hasn't returned...
  12. I would suggest charging your 12V battery before anything else, once done clear the code then take the car out on a (decent) run. If it comes back after that then it'll need further investigation...
  13. Ever heard the phrase "if it's not broke, don't fix it" ?
  14. Are people not still experiencing issues with it though? I stuck with 1985 due to the problems it seemed to be causing when it was released
  15. Ah right, do you mean the facelift? God knows, mine is 2021 Octavia IV
  16. There's a package available from the Skoda website somewhere, sorry, I don't have a link, but it'll be on this forum somewhere, search for map updates cos they're grouped together on Skoda's site. Then you'll need a memory card and to manually update them in your car, not entirely sure of an procedure but remember looking through it once then deciding it wasn't really worth the hassle. Sometimes my logos don't show when I know for a fact that I have them as occasionally they do, dunno what the problem is with that tbh but doubt Skoda really care
  17. It's always been an issue of sorts on Octavia IV I believe. You can manually add them, but it's not easy / not worth the hassle.
  18. I don't have the toggle switch... 🤔
  19. Quick question, how do you unlock it with the app? Mine once locked with the key inside, I changed the battery in it and thankfully it didn't happen again. I had no idea you could unlock it with the app though so had to find another means of getting home to get my spare key then go back for my car 🤬
  20. This is a major reason I opted for a manual over a DSG. Best thing I can suggest would be to have it done yourself once you purchase the car, although ideally you don't really want to be spending money on a car you've only just bought...
  21. Then I suggest you don't have it. How far are you from @East_Yorkshire_Retrofits ? Kieran can diagnose and apply any missing software updates to your car in the exact same way a dealer can, but at a fraction of the cost...
  22. Might sound daft mate but have you checked your battery? I experienced a problem with random faults flagging up recently when I was running a (close to) flat battery... I actually didn't consider a wiring issue, it could easily be that, or a faulty module perhaps? Via my own experience with modern cars, I'm always keen to consider an alternative fix to the one a dealer would recommend For instance just recently I had an airbag light I couldn't get rid of (which was initially triggered by the flat battery I mentioned above) Skoda's solution is to replace the module which would cost around £1,500. Turns out there's an update you can apply via ODIS which fixes it though, which thankfully I discovered with a generous amount of help from good internet folk. Skoda keeping quiet on the update cos obviously they make more by switching out the module, totally unneccessarily Do you know if your vehicle's software is up to date? I don't just mean the infotainment, but each individual module?
